Alrighty then. I've been procrastinating this a bit and thought it was far past time I gave an update on the campaign.
Two sessions ago, the company successfully escorted a shipment of germanium and protected it from some pirates. It was a decisive outcome for the company as they managed to take out a Victor, a Charger, a Spider and a Wolfhound. The Victor and Charger had sustained so much damage, that all that could be salvaged from them was enough internal structure to make up the endo-skeleton for a single 80 ton mech which regiment HQ took to see what all it could be used for. The Spider and Wolfhound had a leg blown off, but otherwise were untouched. The Spider was taken by regiment HQ to train the new pilots; so the Wolfhound was given to the Hussars. There was some structure damage done to a couple of the company's mechs, but the vast majority of repairs were for armor.
The second scenario was a mad dash to defend one of the regiment's Union dropships that was being attacked by enemy mechs. These mechs, however, didn't appear to be pirate as they all had LosTech and were accompanied by 2 LAMs. The enemy mechs also appeared to have advanced armor that gave them superior protection (yes I know it was unbalanced, but that was my intention). After the Union dropship was on the verge of being destroyed and the company about to be overrun, the OPFOR began to disengage. The company managed to down a Wasp LAM, but nothing was recoverable from the wreckage.
As the OPFOR left the field, a message was sent to the Hussars that read, "That's for interfering with our business. Next time the gloves come off."
None of the company's mechs were destroyed, but many were heavily damaged. As things around the drop ship calmed down, reports from the assault on the city were coming in. The opposition there appeared to be armed with similar technology (LosTech and advanced armor). The target of these enemies were thought to be the warehouses where valuable resources were held, but it turned out to be the facility that was holding the captive the company took several weeks ago. The area of the building where the captive was held was completely leveled and it has been confirmed that there have been no survivors found in the rubble.
Before the captive was killed, interrogators were able to get a name from him; though they don't know what it is in reference to. The captive made mention of "Morrison's Extractors". No other information the captive gave seemed to be of use and interrogators weren't able to further pursue this lead before the attack.
After the facility was demolished, the attackers converged on the warehouse district where they suddenly disappeared when they entered one of the larger buildings followed by an explosion that destroyed the structure. No sign of mechs were found in the debris. After further analysis, tunnels were found to have been drilled by a rather large vehicle (or several) that is suspected to have also transported the enemy mechs away while using the destruction of the building to cover their escape.
