OK, due to some requests and generosity, we will be playing at Spacecat's place this Saturday.

Start time will still be noon.  See you all there!

Sorry, I still need to write that up.

However, I wanted to see if Saturday September 19th is a good date to play the next game.

I still have that case and those mechs of yours you let me borrow for that MD game back in February.  They miss you btw.

Alrighty, then.  The company was able to fend off a group of pirates looking to raid a shipment of germanium thereby completing the mission successfully.  All repairs were done pretty quickly as the vast majority of it was just armor damage.  You all managed to salvage a heavily damaged Victor and a heavily damaged Charger; basically you can get the frame of a single 80 ton mech.  Regiment HQ is deciding what to do with that.

The company has earned some R&R due to their satisfactory service.  During this down time, many of the pilots have been able to conduct a thorough evaluation of the recent engagements against hostiles and as such have been able to improve some of their skills.  During this time, the techs were able to complete the turret on the Scorpion; it still needs to be installed on the Scorpion though and will not have enough time to do so before the downtime ends.

The company returns to patrolling and has some minor run ins with pirates, but most of them are able to disengage before any shots are fired.  Things seemed to have settled down a bit.  While on another patrol, radio channels are suddenly flooded with reports of unidentified mechs attacking in multiple areas.  The company gets an SOS from 2 nearby locations.  One is a city the other is a drop ship from your own regiment.  Each location appears to be under attack by at least a company of hostile forces.  You only have the numbers and time to aid one of them.

The city is reporting the presence of multiple assault mechs and the drop ship is reporting faster units, but with close enemy airsupport.

So now begs the question...which one do you all respond to?  Choose the form of your destroyer.

All in all, I'd say that the regimental dropship has more precedence unless our contract specifically has us responding to priority civilian requests.

Also, what about the legged Wolfhound and legged Spider?  They were fairly pristine outside missing legs.

The Wolfhound can be repaired and outfitted during the down time.  The Spider has been taken by regiment to be a training mech for the new recruits.

As to your contract, there's nothing that covers protecting civilian population centers specifically.  Basically you all have been told to follow the orders of local authorities; but no specific order has been given for you all to come and deal with the hostiles in the city.  The radio chatter has turned things into a mess with SOSs going out all over the place.

So it sounds like maybe the attack on the dropship may be a diversion given that the heavier attack is on the city.

I have no preference, though securing the dripship may have longer ranging consequences .  And its our own versus strangers.

Miss hanging with you all. Hope everyone is well and staying safe. If I had a vote Id say go for the city, assault mechs cant run away. I agree the dropship sounds like a diversion and they will just run away once we show up. Does our dropship have any weapons to defend itself? If it is our only ticket out I then change tune and say dropship.

Life decided to throw me a curve ball again.  On my way back from Richmond yesterday my car's computer started throwing multiple engine warnings at me.  Didn't hear anything or feel anything out of the ordinary so just headed on my way.  Dropped it at the dealership I heard some cranking and grinding.  So my availability is based on whether I have a vehicle or not.

Got it.  Still have the address from a prior PM. As for cats, yes I have allergies, but I'm good as long as I'm not petting the cat(s) and then rubbing my face.  Other than bringing myself anything else needed for this weekend?

If you like beverages aside from water and whisky I recommend you bring your own. Also any snacks as Casa de Space Cat doesn't really do chips, etc. There will probably be a cheese plate on hand though. Maybe a baked brie.

The dropship is a modified Union that has gutted the aerospace bays for more storage.  So it does have weapons to defend itself; but it can't bring them all to bear depending on the angle the enemies are attacking from.

Alrighty then.  I've been procrastinating this a bit and thought it was far past time I gave an update on the campaign.

Two sessions ago, the company successfully escorted a shipment of germanium and protected it from some pirates.  It was a decisive outcome for the company as they managed to take out a Victor, a Charger, a Spider and a Wolfhound.  The Victor and Charger had sustained so much damage, that all that could be salvaged from them was enough internal structure to make up the endo-skeleton for a single 80 ton mech which regiment HQ took to see what all it could be used for.  The Spider and Wolfhound had a leg blown off, but otherwise were untouched. The Spider was taken by regiment HQ to train the new pilots; so the Wolfhound was given to the Hussars.  There was some structure damage done to a couple of the company's mechs, but the vast majority of repairs were for armor.

The second scenario was a mad dash to defend one of the regiment's Union dropships that was being attacked by enemy mechs.  These mechs, however, didn't appear to be pirate as they all had LosTech and were accompanied by 2 LAMs.  The enemy mechs also appeared to have advanced armor that gave them superior protection (yes I know it was unbalanced, but that was my intention).  After the Union dropship was on the verge of being destroyed and the company about to be overrun, the OPFOR began to disengage.  The company managed to down a Wasp LAM, but nothing was recoverable from the wreckage.

As the OPFOR left the field, a message was sent to the Hussars that read, "That's for interfering with our business.  Next time the gloves come off."

None of the company's mechs were destroyed, but many were heavily damaged.  As things around the drop ship calmed down, reports from the assault on the city were coming in.  The opposition there appeared to be armed with similar technology (LosTech and advanced armor).  The target of these enemies were thought to be the warehouses where valuable resources were held, but it turned out to be the facility that was holding the captive the company took several weeks ago.  The area of the building where the captive was held was completely leveled and it has been confirmed that there have been no survivors found in the rubble.

Before the captive was killed, interrogators were able to get a name from him; though they don't know what it is in reference to.  The captive made mention of "Morrison's Extractors".  No other information the captive gave seemed to be of use and interrogators weren't able to further pursue this lead before the attack.

After the facility was demolished, the attackers converged on the warehouse district where they suddenly disappeared when they entered one of the larger buildings followed by an explosion that destroyed the structure.  No sign of mechs were found in the debris.  After further analysis, tunnels were found to have been drilled by a rather large vehicle (or several) that is suspected to have also transported the enemy mechs away while using the destruction of the building to cover their escape.
