The Phoenix Hawk LAM (CR) is an advanced version of the Phoenix Hawk LAM produced by the Republic of Crossroad.

The P-Hawk LAM is minimally armed, featuring only a single Clan-spec ER Large Laser to blast light scouts, a small pulse laser for anti-infantry, and a targeting computer to improve accuracy.  It is, however, a capable scout capable of flying up to 81 m/s along the ground in Airmech mode and equipped with a strong electronics suite, including ECM and an active probe.  The P-Hawk LAM is also well protected for a LAM, featuring nearly maximum armor and a Laser AMS system to provide enhanced protection against missiles.

The Crossroadian variant of the P-Hawk LAM is used as a scout 'Mech and as a spotter for guided artillery.  In this role, its arm-mounted TAG system is far more effective than any weapon that could possibly be mounted on a LAM chassis.  Due to this, Crossroadian Phoenix Hawk LAMs often coordinate closely with the stealthy Phantom Brigades, as well as artillery batteries in the regular army.

This seems like a nigh-perfect scout/harasser.

A few variations that you might consider:
  • You might consider ECM+AP-> {Bloodhound or Angel}.  If they work in pairs, one with Bloodhound and one with Angel is typically superior to two clones.  Of course if they work alone, that's not good.
  • You might consider dropping the targeting computer and downgrading the SPL in favor of AES which applies to TAG.
  • You might consider just having a bomb bay in which you typically mount TAG but can optionally mount other things.

1. BHP and Angel would be quite effective, but they do indeed work alone, or at least far enough away from each other to maximize Probe sweep coverage.  Also neither tech would be available to the Republic of Crossroad at the time of introduction.  Probably good for an upgrade in the future once these equipment are invented, maybe in conjunction with composite or endo-steel structure to keep 'em both on one platform (Though Endo-Steel isn't legal on LAMs in canon, the Crossroadians developed a method to make it anyways).
2. Interesting idea.  Does cost an extra half ton, but that could be manageable on a future upgrade.
3. Strictly speaking it'd be a pure upgrade, but I think I prefer it hard-mounted for aesthetic reasons.
