Sweet!  I really like the mapscale droppers.  A Fortress would make my day.  Ask Kirk to model a Long Tom stick out the top!

Already brought it up with him, one of the first things I thought to ask him about.

Coolness, just make the Long Tom a optional piece.

I mentioned to do two nose options, gun in and gun out.

Initial thinking on the Fortress is to do it so it would look exactly as the original art. The "domes" that appear will be metal so the details dont wash out. THere will be two domes for the nose as talked about for the LT.
Landing gear will be done as with the Overlord. Slots in the gear bay recesses. The one thing I want to try is to have optional metal detail panels for the weapons that appear on the upgraded version. Should make for a very decent game piece when done.

Landing gear installed

Gear parts

going a little bit different route on the Fort. Gear doors are separate from the gear. That way the same doors are used for either the open or closed options.

So want this now. The Fortress has always been my favorite.

Yes! Please do the Fortress. My merc unit has 3 drop ships. A Leopard, Union, and Fortress.

I already have the map scale Leopard and Union. A map scale Fortress would be perfect for my collection.

Both of my two-piece Unions don't line up at all.  The three-piece Overlord-C I did required a little work, but was fine in the end.  I've been wanting to pick up the one-piece examples, but, eh, funds.  I'll have funds for a Fortress, mark me!

My two piece Union required a little work but I got them to line up. No problem with the Overlord at all. Just got the new one piece Union and Overlord IIc a few weeks back and are jump above the old two pieces.

I hope to see the final version as one piece. Had huge differences with all my Unions and Overlords (up to 0,9cm in diameter with one Overlords lower to mid section). I think there is a simple way to avoid that.

Don't have any pictures handy, but as an example, a Union is a little less than twice as tall than a Zeus miniature, and if you lay the Zeus down flat, it's almost exactly two Zeus-heights wide.

It all depends, usually one dropship is done a year. It will depend on how well this one sells. Though some other ones might come before those two.

I think I get you now.  O0  I think the problem is the piece is so TINY in the picture that it can't be seen very well.  ;D   On page 1, if you see the post by Rommel_Twee that says "LongTom option idea.", you can see what it's supposed to look like.  Then, if you look at his post on page 2 where he says "Ok folks, models are done, 3D files created are out for quotes", he has the pic showing all the pieces. Granted, even saving it to my HD then enlarging it didn't help any, but I Think I narrowed down which piece it is. Look at the 3 pieces that I'm guessing are the bay doors (there's 2 other "doors" to the right of them), and look at the little round pieces above them.  I think the one on the left is the Long Tom. I KNEW I'd seen the little bugger, so I couldn't figure out why you didn't!  :D  Mystery Solved.
To me, Repros are 100% Wrong, and there's NO  room for me to give ground on this subject. I'm not just an Immovable Object on this, I'm THE Immovable Object. 3D Prints are just 3D Repros.

I think I got it, the one little circle for a closed dome and the half circle for the Long Tom deployed dome.
I don't set an example for others. I make examples of them.

When do you hope to have it for sale on the web? As I do not live close enough to any con to have any hope of making it to them.

Any idea what the Price will be yet?   ???  I'm guessing $39.99-$49.99?  Maybe more?

Unknown at this point, as soon I hear from Mike the price I will announce it. Still in the early stages of production.

Ahem... what are those scratches or whatever around the centre? Are those intentional? Or are they just scratches from handling? ???

Please... no simulated battle damage.  :-\ Leave that to the record sheets, please. Thanks!

Picked up one of these puppies today at Historicon. Very cool! One of the best models yet!

Got some question about the turrets. There are hardpoints for seven large turrets. I figured out what five are for (the long tom (either deployed or closed) fore, two dual LRM-20 turrets and two dual LRM-10 turrets around the circumference). What are the other two for (port and starboard)? There does not seem to be any larger turrets for those hardpoints.

Also, can we get a key for the smaller turrets' weaponry (i.e., what are the weapons in the small turrets with four weapon muzzles?, etc.)

Thanks!

I got the last one on Sunday to put up for images on the site. Let me look it over and post some pictures. I will not get to it until mid week, I am recovering today from the long weekend at the convention.

Go figure.  Right after I sent my order for an overlord and Sparrowhawk.  Hopefully there will be enough to last until my next paycheck in two weeks.

Just got mine - and while i was impressed by the CAD, the dropship itself is worse than all the Union or Overlords i've seen so far. No part is matching to each other. Of the small holes for the Little turrets only 3 are not filled with resin. Both halves of the ship are not matching as they have neither the same Diameter nor the same horizon.
And the metal doors or whatever that should be ... do not fit as the bend does not match the hull. Only parts that fit well are the gears.

So sad to see all the mistakes made with the first big dropships are repeated here. :(
I hoped for Rommel_Twee that this time his work will be performed well.
