General BattleTech Discussion / Re: SL Command Lance pre-paint!
« Last post by Church14 on Today at 23:26:09 »
Here's an Idea, that I JUST thought of after reading the first post.

Are they making at least 4 different Lance Packs, each with 1 pre-painted mini?  I think they are, but can't remember.   :embarrassed:  How about sell a LP of those?  That way, the people that want them can get them all in one LP, while the people that cry about how they'll "have" to repaint them won't have to cry about it?

Note, they'll STILL cry about it, but we'll care even less.   :smilie_happy_thumbup:
My understanding is:
SLDF Pack - Painted Orion (A. Kerensky)
2SL Pack - Painted Dire Wolf Prometheus (Victor's)
3SL Pack 1 - Painted Savage Wolf (presumably Alaric Ward. Hard to imagine anyone else)
3SL Pack 2 - Painted Lament (I'm assuming a new character in iKEO)

Alpha Strike / Does jumping onto ice to cause a skid?
« Last post by Boateye on Today at 23:05:00 »
As the title suggests, I am unsure if I'm interpreting the skidding rules with regards to jumping onto ice.

If I am understanding the above rules correctly, in order to trigger a skid, you must fulfill at least one condition in BOTH bullet points. If that's true, it seems a unit jumping onto ice from the first bullet point would always be in violation of the second bullet point.

What am I missing here?

Calvin and Hobbes has been in more or less continuous reprinting in newspaper comic strips since some time in the late 00s, I believe.

Here is my take on a "Clanbuster" Ostroc.  The original Tukayyid sourcebook gave us the first run of Clanbusters, and they retconned in some more with the revised version. What if ComStar REALLY leaned into enhancing every 'Mech they had at their disposal that mounted a 300-rated engine, using the Clanbuster XL engine cache?  So here's a buddy for the retconned Clanbuster Shadow Hawk, with the same role of mostly hunting Elementals.

And yeah, I also really wanted an Ostroc variant whose stats would match the original TR:3025 art.

Had to do something about the CT ammo bomb, though.  And the "ablative armour" arms.

I got a "Confirm your mailing Address" email a few days ago (4 OCT), for the Art of War book.  I guess, I know I didn't add on the cookbook.

I've been seeing Calvin and Hobbes come through my FB Feed on a regular basis the last several months.  Not sure How or Why, but there it is.   :smilie_happy_thumbup:

I think it's a/the Calvin and Hobbes FB page or group?

General BattleTech Discussion / Re: 'Mech development time
« Last post by AlphaMirage on Today at 22:05:00 »
Also to the point I don't think Omnimechs would take longer to develop, the omnipods themselves are the limiter but if you already have those in inventory then omni-capability is much easier to enable. Most of it seems to be the more advanced gyro but considering a similar tonnage gyro already exists with many similar mobility profile/tonnage designs making such an alternation (Hellbringer/Cauldron Born, Vapor Eagle/Storm Crow, Huntsman/Nova) mostly a cosmetic change so there is nothing that necessarily precludes hasty development of an omnimech.

Therefore I actually think that if you already understand omnitech you can alter an already existent chassis to fit your need, but for a Battlemech you need to take it back to the design phase.
