Strategy Boardgame
« on: 26 January 2011, 06:54:32 »
Hi.

Not sure if this is the proper place to ask this.  If not feel free to move.

My question(s)...

Has there been any thought to doing another boardgame like "The Succession Wars"?

Has there been any thought to doing a massive strategy game for the computer?
(something along the lines of the WW2 Hearts of Iron series by Paradox Games....only fighting over planets instead of provinces)

Thanks in advance for any answers.

Page 9 of Strategic Operations indicates that:

"Interstellar Operations contains complete rules for generating
and running any type or size of force, as well as the
BattleTech Strategic Game: The Inner Sphere in Flames. This comprehensive
rules set governs the running of an entire faction’s
military as a player tries to conquer (or defend) numerous solar
systems.
"

Inner Sphere in Flames has, IIRC, appeared in a previous publication, but I can't find it just now.

No, it hasn't been released yet. When it is ready, CGL will issue a street date.

OK, thanks all!!  :)

However, I am still left with the questions of have another Boardgame or a strategy computer game been considered?  I'm just curious, and will understand if they have not.

Though, if they haven't, might I suggest they should be!!  ;)

Hello,

To answer the original post, yes, a board game revision was considered. At this time, there are no plans to revisit the Succession Wars board game, however.

Thank you,

Nope. That's why I quoted Strategic Operations and its description of upcoming items.

However (found it!) the pre-Total Warfare "Combat Operations" also includes a form of "Inner Sphere In Flames."
