  Gibson

Duke Scott Mitchell had designated today as the day they moved for Gibson proper. It would take 9 days to reach the planet proper. Every ship now had full charges on their Jump Drives and LF Batteries, just in case they were needed. The 5th AFFC Fleet under Fleet Admiral Penelope Cruz led the massive armada. Directly behind 5th Fleet's wall of ships was the SLDF 1st Fleet's remaining 2 squadrons and forming a ring around the Transports and Dropships carrying the ground forces was Duke Mitchell's Task Force.

Remaining at the Zenith Jump Point, was Duke Mitchell's Support Squadron, 5th Fleet's Support Squadron, Mystic Naval Star and a force of damaged ships consisting of:

MDF William M. Wood, Buford II Corvette - heavy damage (currently in Yardship)
MDF Hamlin, Tortuga Destroyer - heavy damage (currently in Yardship)
WDS Beowolf, Congress Frigate - severe damage (currently in Yardship)
FCS Des Moines Victory II Class Cruiser - severe damage (currently in Yardship)
FCS Blumenthal- Buford II Corvette - severe damage (currently in Yardship)
NCS Dark Cat- Sovetskii Soyuz Cruiser - heavy damage (cureently in Yardship
SLS Lima - Impavadio Destroyer - serious damage
SLS Invisible Truth - Cameron Battlecruiser - heavy damage (currently in Yardship)
SLS Badger - Buford II Corvette - heavy damage (currently in Yardship)
FCS Teresa B Mulvaney, Halsey II Destroyer - heavy damage (currently in Yardship)

With the ground force ships now included, they added 31 additional warships to the combined Fleet's counting the Tarawa Transports and their escorts. The Nimitz Carriers had all be assigned to 5th AFFC Fleets Carrier Squadron, giving it 8 Nimitz Carriers, operating between 5th Fleet and the SLDF. To replace losses, Scott had ordered many of the Titan II Dropships fighters aboard the Nimitz Carriers. Admiral Frank Carmody commanded the Carrier Squadron and kept 4 Wings deployed at all time with 2 of the Wings loaded with Alamo missiles.

While conducting repairs, the ships of the Fleet had managed to plot several La Grange points. Several times, Scott had toyed with jumping into the La Grange points, but had discarded the idea each time as too risky.

 Tamar

Word had finally filtered to the Inner Sphere Clan's from the Home Worlds about Clan Coyote's victory over Clan Star Adder at Tamaron. But also that Khan Sullivan Koga had been killed in the fighting. Khan Vladamir Ward took the news quietly, deep in thought. Clan Coyote only had 20 Clusters of warriors deployed in the Inner Sphere. Their Alpha and Zeta Galaxy's had not arrived from the Home Worlds and would not do so for at least a year by his estimate. That would mean saKhan Raven Clearwater was in command of the Coyotes. He had found her to be more difficult to deal with than Khan Koga. His Wolves still had not recovered from the strike on Tamar.

He could not risk a war with Clan Ghost Bear by raiding them, nor could he raid the Federated Commonwealth without great risk. But, could he risk raiding Clan Coyote? That was the question, for they had always been loyal allies, but now, they were so weak that if they were still in the Home Worlds, someone would call for their Absorption in the Grand Council. But we no longer report to the Grand Council. But sitting right here amongst his Wolves was their salvation. He had to give this some more thought.

 Alpheratz

President Mitchell Avellar stood and walked across his office to greet his visitor, Loremaster Klaus Harper of Clan Snow Raven. "Welcome back to Alpheratz Loremaster Harper, it is a pleasure to see you again. It has been what, almost a year since the last time?"

"Greetings President Avellar, it has been 13 months since our last visit. There has been much work that has kept me busy." Loremaster Harper replied

"Please, have a seat. What can I do for you and Clan Snow Raven today? I want to thank you and Khan McKenna for the assistance in designing the Corax Omni Fighter and I am glad to report that we have now gotten production up to 20 per month and are expanding production to try and double that to 40 per month within the next year." President Avellar said

"Excellent news, it will make a fine addition to Clan Snow Raven's Touman. We have completed our survey of the old Quatre Belle Naval Yards and have found it to be in decent enough condition to refurbish and place back into operation, estimates are roughly 1 year for it to be used for maintenance needs, 2 years it will be able to produce civilian ships, 4 years to produce warships. I have already ordered my Technicians to begin work, when Khan McKenna returned with the last of our lower caste, work will proceed much quicker.

But the main reason I am here, is to inform you that Clan Snow Raven needs a central world to call home. You have been most gracious in granting Clan Snow Raven enclaves with our largest on Sevon, but Clan Snow Raven has 4 convoys in transit and Khan McKenna and her convoy is the last one making 5 convoys. Almost 38 million of our lower caste. Clan Snow Raven currently has 18 million of our lower caste spread across 4 worlds, Sevon, Quatra Bell, Mitchella and Lushann. In exchange for this, Clan Snow Raven is willing to assist the Outworlds Alliance in upgrading your Aegis Cruiser and 2 Essex Destroyers." Loremaster Harper said

President Avellar thought about this for a few minutes, it would be nice to get the ships upgraded, he had been tempted to contact Mitchell Aerospace about possibly doing an upgrade on his ships. But this is a huge thing, I wonder what I can get him to agree to? "That is a very generous offer, but turning over a world to your Ravens is liable to create some trouble."

"Clan Snow Raven is aware of this and is willing to relocate any who wish it, at our expense." Loremaster Harper said

"That will help in keeping any issues to a minimum, but, I am not sure it will be enough to keep the people from calling for my head." President Avellar said

"If the world is of good quality, with ample resources, Clan Snow Raven will teach your people in connstruction of the Titan Dropship and help upgrade a hospital on each world to Clan Spec and assist in staffing these hospitals." Loremaster Harper countered

"Excellent offer Loremaster Harper, if Clan Snow Raven would help the Outworlds Alliance in reclaiming some of our former worlds and aid us by using your Terraforming knowledge, I will transfer control of Baliggora AND allow Clan Snow Raven to claim one of our "lost" worlds as their own." President Avellar replied

"Clan Snow Raven agrees to these terms. I trust you will notify me when Clan Snow Raven can take possession of Baliggora?" Loremaster Harper asked

"When is your next convoy due to arrive?" President Avellar asked

"Three months, with each convoy roughly 3 months apart except for Khan McKenna's, I do not have any arrival notice on them." Loremaster Harper said

"We will set 1 May of this year. Your convoy may go directly to Baliggora then." President Avellar said

"Bargained Well and Good President Avellar. As always, it has been a pleasure." Loremaster Harper said

Around the Universe

 Ironhold (Clan Jade Falcon)

Ever since the Federated Commonwealth/Star League ejected the Falcons from their Occupation Zone in 3059 and their return to the Home Worlds in 3061, Khan Marthe Pryde had worked hard to rebuild the Falcons. Upon their return to the Home Worlds, she had been forced to almost empty her Clan's Brian Caches of old Star League era equipment. Only in the last 3 years have the Falcon's beenn able to begin placing the old Mechs back into the Caches. Only Archon Prince Victor Steiner Davion's promise to return to her all the captured Falcon's taken during the short war had allowed her Clan to survive.

Harvest Trials against other Clan's had added frontline quality warriors to the Falcon Touman. Even so, the combined losses from the Refusal War against Clan Wolf and then against the FC/Star League had been devestating. After the Refusal War, Khan Marthe Pryde had authorized Trueborn warriors a second chance at a Trial of Position, which had netted her 3 Clusters of troops to help fill out 2nd line units. She had been forced to do so again in 3061, which gained her another 2 Clusters of troops.

Now the Falcon Touman stood at 41 Clusters of troops. It was in warships where her Clan had really been savaged, for the Falcon's only had 8 Warships left.

 CJF Turkina's Pride, Cameron Battlecruiser

CJF White Aerie, Black Lion Batlecruiser
 CJF Frost Falcon, Aegis Cruiser
CJF Gold Talon, Aegis Cruiser (deployed Chainelane Isles)
CJF Jade Talon, Aegis Cruiser (deployed Chainelane Isles)
 CJF Kerensky's Pride, Congress Frigate
 CJF Ironhold Provider, Carrack Transport

 Touman Deployments

Gamma Galaxy (5 Clusters)- Chainelane Isles
Epsilon Galaxy (6 Clusters) - Home Worlds
Delta Galaxy (5 Clusters) - Home Worlds
Zeta Galaxy (6 Clusters) - Home Worlds
Omega Galaxy (4 Clusters) - Home Worlds
Mu Galaxy (4 Clusters) - Chainelane Isles
Phi Galaxy (4 Clusters) - Chainelane Isles
Sigma Galaxy (4 Clusters) - Home Worlds
Iota Galaxy (3 Clusters) - Home Worlds

Operations in the Chainelane Isles had brought Chaine Cluster, Randane, Far Reach, Haublan, Paran and Syrstart under Falcon control. This had brought 106,913,47 people under Falcon control. The biggest gains were the shipyard complex inside the Chaine Cluster which had been refurbished at great expense and raw material, but could now service warships and work was ongoing to add construction to the complex. Syrstart had proven valuable when the Falcons discovered rich Germanium deposits in the astroid fields in the system. Khan Marthe Pryde had ordered a ammunition manufacturing plant to be constructed on Far Reach to act as a forward supply base.

 Bremen (Clan Cloud Cobra)

The capitol of Clan Cloud Cobra's home. Controlling 25 worlds that once comprised the Hanseatic League, Clan Cloud Cobra had spent the last 4 years reassembling their manufacturing complexes, surveying their new holdings for the needed resouces and establishing mining colonies to exploit those resources. Most of the Clan's population were on 4 worlds, Bremen (Capitol) 38 Million, Novgorod 26 Million, Bruges 14 Million, Bergen 18 Million as those were the only planets able to support the people and allow for modest food exports to the other worlds whose populations averaged 550,000 or less.

 Manufacturing

 Novgorod - Complex H-4 and Complex H-6
 Bruges - Constantin Assembly Plant M27 A-E
Bremen - Bremen Ironworks and Bremen Orbital Aerospace Facility M13
 Bergen - Bergen MechWorks V

The lack of any sort of constructing or maintaining Dropships, Jumpships or their Warships really placed a strain on Clan Cloud Cobra. This critical shortfall was placed at the top of the Cobra's list of needs to be corrected by Khan Din Steiner. The Clan's Genetic Repository was on Bremen. Star Admiral Tor Kardaan had been good at his word and had convinced Khan Din Steiner and saKhan Kieran Telinov to admit the bondsmen taken during the campaign into the Clan's Touman. This had formed 12 new Clusters formed into 3 new Regional Defense Galaxy's. Plus it had helped ease some of the tensions with the new Clan members.

 Regional Defense Galaxy 1

RDG Cluster Alpha - 2 Mech Trinary, 4 Conv Infantry Trinary
RDG Cluster Beta - 2 Mech Trinary, 4 Conv Infantry Trinary
RDG Cluster Charlie - 2 Mech Trinary, 4 Conv Infantry Trinary
RDG Cluster Delta - 2 Mech Trinary, 4 Conv Infantry Trinary

 Regional Defense Galaxy 2

RDG Cluster Echo - 2 Mech Trinary, 4 Conv Infantry Trinary
RDG Cluster Gamma - 2 Mech Trinary, 4 Conv Infantry Trinary
RDG Cluster Iota - 2 Mech Trinary, 4 Conv Infantry Trinary
RDG Cluster Kappa - 2 Mech Trinary, 4 Conv Infantry Trinary

 Regional Defense Galaxy 3

RDG Cluster Mu - 2 Mech Trinary, 4 Conv Infantry Trinary
RDG Cluster Phi - 2 Mech Trinary, 4 Conv Infantry Trinary
RDG Cluster Sigma - 2 Mech Trinary, 4 Conv Infantry Trinary
RDG Cluster Tau - 2 Mech Trinary, 4 Conv Infantry Trinary

Most of the new Mechs to equip the Regional Defense Galaxy's had come from Clan Diamond Sharks factory on Antwerp, paid for with raw minerals and ores. Locust and Phoenix Hawks equipped the Regional Defense Galaxy's.

 Antwerp (Clan Diamond Shark)

Capitol of Clan Diamond Sharks holdings in the former Hanseatic League, it was the real prize of all the worlds in the former Hanseatic League with it's large manufacturing complex's. After the initial assault, Clan Diamond Shark had withdrawn from several of their captured worlds allowing Clan Cloud Cobra to take them over. They kept Antwerp, Braunschweig, Danzig and Hamburg. While initially keeping the complex's producing what they had been at the moment of capture, before the major departure to Twycross, saKhan Angus Lebov had ordered the main factory to be expanded and upgraded.

 Antwerp Military Goods

 Mechs
Locust IIC - 1 Line producing 12 per month
Horned Owl - 2 Line producing 24 per month
Piranha - 1 Line producing 12 per month
Shadow Hawk IIC - 1 Line producing 8 per month

 Vehicles
 Pike (C) - 3 Line producing 30 per month

 Aerospace
Ammon - 2 Lines producing 16 per month

 Dropship
Lion - 1 line producing 3 per year
 Mule (C) - 1 Line producing 2 per year

Merchant Factor Lorenzo had agreed with saKhan Lebov that it would be worth upgrading and enlarging their factory on Antwerp and had made sure the needed material had been transported to make it happen. They would soon offer these for sale to Clan Cloud Cobra. The garrison for Clan Diamond Sharks holdings was a concern, but it was felt Clan Cloud Cobra would uphold it's promise to safeguard the Sharks holdings. After taking Antwerp, saKhan Lebov had order the bondsmen formed into a garrison Cluster.

 Warships

 CDS Tracy, Essex Destroyer

 Cooperland (Clan Diamond Shark)

As Clan Diamond Shark's new Home World, Cooperland expanded quickly once the main Clan Diamond Shark convoy's arrived. Now, with a Newgrange Yardships, Khan Barbara Sennet had ordered it to construct the needed orbital facilities to properly mine the massive Harjel deposit in system. The reassembly of the Clan's manufacturing was proceeding at a fast pace. Construction had also begun on the promised joint venture with Clan Nova Cat and Mitchell Aerospace's new Battle Armor Division on Ulvskollen, it was estimated to take 2 years for construction to be completed. It would produce mulitiple Battle Armor types in large quantity.

 Ulvskollen Joint Battle Armor Factory

Elemental Battle Armor - 8 Lines producing 240 per month
Clan Medium BA Rabid - 8 Lines producing 240 per month
Inner Sphere Standard - 8 Lines producing 360 per month

In addition, Khan Sennet had concluded a deal with a representative from Mitchell Aerospace's mining division, Mitchell Mining, for a steady flow of the much needed rare earth minerals for the construction of Clan XL engines in exchange for a steady flow of Harjel.

Around The Universe

 Tortuga Prime (Clan Nova Cat)

Over the last 8 years, Clan Nova Cat had seen it's Tortuga Domain grow steadily. To the surprise of everyone, refugee's from the Inner Sphere had willingly migrated to the Tortuga Domain to live under Clan Nova Cat rule. Influenced by Duke Mitchell and with their experience from their former Occupation Zone in the Draconis Combine, Clan Nova Cat had greatly liberalized their attitude and treatment of those not born into their Clan. While not truely a free society, the people living under Nova Cat rule did enjoy much the same freedoms as those in the Outer March and Federated Commonwealth.

 Tortuga Domain
 Tortuga Prime- Capitol, pop 21,253,981
 New Haiti- pop 6,457,722
 New Gascony- pop 9,512,194

 New Port Royal- pop 11,390,019
 Morgan's Holdfast- pop 7,982,399

 Total Population - 67,303.686

It was their Touman that had under went the some of the largest changes. While Trueborn's dominated the Clan's Frontline Cluster's, there were now many more Freeborn's in their Frontline Cluster's than ever. Under Khan Santin West's guidance, great efforts were made to stamp out the age old Trueborn versus Freeborn rivalry. Another large change was the increased use of conventional forces in Garrison units. With 8 Frontline Galaxy's and 4 Second Line Galaxy's now being fielded by Clan Nova Cat, their Touman was stronger than at anytime in their history. With assistance from Mitchell Aerospace and production from their own factories, all the Frontline Galaxy's were fully Omni equipped while even the Second Line units were at least 1/3rd Omni equipped. Frontline Galaxy's were equipped with 5 Clusters while the Garrison Galaxy's were equipped with 6 Clusters.

Maintaining such a large Touman was only possible with the money from HPG station construction via the Star League. Khan West Santin West knew Clan Nova Cat would someday have to draw down their Touman, but that was in the future, for right now, Clan Nova Cat was on a war footing. Clan Nova Cat's manufacturing was in full production, producing enough that they were selling equipment to the AFFC and Star League, but to avoid any issues, Merchant Factor Amber (Rosse) coordinated heavily with Mitchell Aerospace. Duke Mitchell had also given Clan Nova Cat several vehicle designs.

Not everything had gone smooth for the Nova Cats. Immigration had grown so swiftly that local food production had been pushed to the limits. After Clan Nova Cat had secured Charleston, Khan West had ordered survey's conducted of 7 systems that Clan Nova Cat had discovered which had revealed habitable planets for possible colonization.

Klenkar - low gravity .61g, extremely rich in minerals and ores, poor agriculture
Cadela - agriculturally abundunt, moderate minerals
Leh - tainted air (poisonous), rich minerals
San Carlos - water rich, breadbasket agriculture
Luderitz - agriculturally abundunt, moderate minerals
Famdo - agriculturally abundunt, moderate minerals
Baltar - High gravitu 1.4, rich mineral

Plans were made to establish colonies on these worlds with the first, San Carlos, being planned for March 3069. Khan West envisioned settling those refugee's recovered from the old Marian Hegemony on those worlds. The evacuation mission was well on it's way. On 1 June 3068, Khan West had sent a message to Boss of Mitchell Aerospace asking about an optimized civilian evactuation Dropship. Within 24 hours, Boss had modified the Steamer design to carry 84,000 people and just under 6,000 tons of cargo. They would be packed in like sardines, as Boss put it, but it would move a bunch of people at one time. Duchess Twyla Mitchell had then gotten involved and ordered Boss to construct all the Steamer Dropships Clan Nova Cat needed, which caused no small amount of under the breathe bitching from Boss. She ahd then ordered Boss to dispatch those Dropships using Scott's command circuit to the former Marian Hegemony, but Scott's military supplies came first. The first 25 Steamer (Refugee) were completed in August 3068, the next 25 Steamer (Refugee) were completed Oct 3068 and the last 25 completed Dec 3068. Lift capacity of 6.3 million refugees. Clan Nova Cat refugee's would be transported first.

 Current Refugee Former Marian/Wolf/Nova Cat
 Islington (Nova Cat) - 33,356,181
 Ballalaba (Nova Cat) - 2,412,374
 Baccalieu (Nova Cat) - 1,824,843
 Algenib (Nova Cat) - 2,196,624
Pompey (Wolf) - 3,712,253 (2,248,317 request to rejoin Wolf in Exile)
Stafford (Wolf) - 11,286,911 (3,118,524 request to rejoin Wolf in Exile)
Alphard (Wolf) - 43,376,325 (12,697,569 request to rejoin Wolf in Exile)

The numbers to be moved were staggering. It would only be possible with the help secured from Clan Diamond Shark and their 7 Potemkin Transports, which formed the final leg of the chain starting at Larsha in the CC to Armington in the FC, utilizing double jumps to minimize travel time for the refugee's once they had a full load of 25 Steamer Dropships. At Armington, they would link up with a command circuit from Clan Nova Cat and Clan Diamond Shark jumpships for final transport. It would be a massive undertaking.

 Terra

MDF Blazing Star, Monolith LF Jumpship, had materialized at the Nadir Jump Point on 31 January 3068. Checking in with Traffic Control, declaring their business and what was aboard had caused quite a stir among the SLDF defenders. It had taken 6 hours for a message from First Lord Katherine Steiner Davion had cleared Duchess Twyla Mitchell and FRIENDS to the surface. SLDF Fleet Admiral Juliet Patterson, commander Terran Carrier Squadron, had read the message 4 times and it did not say she could not provide an escort and assigned SLS Sun Flare, Dante Frigate and SLS Manley, Fox II Corvett. The trip had been uneventful and the gaggle of Dropships made their landing smoothly.

As Ann walked down the ramp leading Duchess Twyla Mitchell and Melissa Mitchell, she had barely given the all clear signal and was turning back around when a woman pushed by her, moving rapidly up the ramp. "MOVE IT ANN, YOUR BLOCKING MY PATH!!!". She pulled her hand away from her hidden pistol as she recognized Katherine Steiner Davion's voice and quickly said over the radio "Wepaons tight, she is a friend." before one of the newer members of her detail did something stupid.

The massive Elemental could but shake her head as she heard "TWYLA, what an unexpected visit. Look at you Melissa, your so big. You don't know me, but I am your god mother Katherine. Give me a hug, oof, so strong too." Soon the small group moved downt the ramp and when they reached the bottom, Katherine said to her aide, "Major, see that all our guests have suitable quarters please. If they want to see the sights, please assign suitable guides and transportation." Then turning to Twyla "You both will be staying with me. We have so much to talk about and I could really use the break."

"So much to talk about" and "break" don't really add up, but hey, she's the First Lord!  ::)

I still say that the clans moving into the inner sphere would be smart to standardize what they produce so that they can increase production. they should also only produce three different armor, mechs, tanks, fighters ie light, medium, heavy. thus they increase production even more. the result of this can be seen in what Kowloon is doing in https://bg.battletech.com/forums/index.php?topic=67637.0

plus if they are smart about it they will first standardize their garrisons and sell off the replaced equipment and then do the same thing to the frontline units. I say this because the garrisons would be closer to the factories then the frontline units. I would also at the very least establish ammo factories on each planet that they control so that they can easily supply their troops on planet. that is if they do not do what I would and go with all energy based weapons as much as possible thus simplifying logistics.

LOL... sure, them too.  Mostly for maximizing firepower on the drop to secure the LZ, though...

So you all know, not dead, but needed to take a break for a bit. New story keeps taking priority in my thought patterns.

I am noting here. I for insane reasons (it's hobby) collected ALL POSTS of this story and put into PDF form.   xp

Its now can be found on the BattleTech Fanon Wiki, page with download link.

As gentle warning, i am not fantastic editor.  I've spell checked/grammar check hell out of it, but the book 1,445 pages.  It's bigger than War and Peace.

It's worth the visit reading, just take piece at a time.

Thank you.

Do not worry about being insane ...   ;D

Now I will see about creating a better epub than just dumping the printed threads into it - this is it: https://1drv.ms/u/s!AqgBapWz8PeaiOEoJTyLu9L9tgozyw?e=ZB5uNj

If somebody provides me an copyright-free image for a title picture which is approved by 2ndAcr then I will add a table of contents (based on the first post of each year).

I will say this was a very cool story and would love to see more of it though. But since nothing since the new year, it would say it's dead. Thanks for sharing and doing this and collecting it in one spot.

Not going to say dead, it is just that the new story kept blocking the path. I could very easily pick this one back up again. Jihad era is not my most favorite area.

I have the original word doc i put this together, so i can add on to it.

As truth be told. This needs be broken up for sake of breaks.  Volume 1 - Clan Invasion Volume 2 Jihad Era etc.  So it's easier to read.   Regardless i will keep updating it should it be revisited.  I think ended fairly well.
