I’ve just noticed that there’s apparently no article for the Awesome, just a couple of notes in the directory of a lost article from ‘05.  Considering how much of a mainstay it is, that really shocks me.  Anyone want to tackle it?

I'd certainly hope that an Awesome could beat a Chimera. ^-^

The original model Chimera, definitely. The later sword-packing one? That Awesome might need to luck out a little...

Forgot about that variant.  Yeah, a 7/11/7 with a nasty laser array and TSM could inflict some serious pain while maneuvering enough to prevent the Awesome from getting a decent shot at it.

Hellbie's mention of the sword Chimera elsewhere is what made me think of MOTWing it. It really is something... someone go for it.

It is pretty nasty all right... but i can't tolerate asymmetric jump jet arrangements. So annoying.

TBT will be posted sometime this weekend. I had health and work issues to tend to this week. Apologies.

Check this out:

Huh.  ???
From that angle, it kinda looks like a hybrid between the legs of a Chimera and the upper torso and arms(well, one arm) of a Hunchback IIC! And that sword looks more like a X-Men Wolverine style claw/retractable blade. ^^
But I like it!  Nobody ever said that a sword had to be held in the hand and honestly, this looks a lot more how I would imagine a sword/hatchet mounted on a Mech! :D

Oh by the way... some time ago I asked if someone could do an article on the Madcat Mk. III. We have MotW's for all other versions of the Timber Wolf/Mad Cat, this is the only one missing. Is there still someone planning to do it, or has real life thrown a wrench in that? I fully understand if that's the case(RL always comes first), I just wanted to ask.

Ayup, things with higher priority kept on coming up all over the weekend. Including daytime sleep. :-\

That said, my rationale stands: things (unrelated to health) will get more hectic and I will want to post both MotW - both the TBT-** (which I *did* start work on) and the BJ-* - by next weekend. TBT hopefully early in the week, but on Thursday at the latest. In that case, the Blackjack will be delayed until Sunday 3rd.

Again, apologies.

Since I don't see any other MOTWs up, I've gone and put up the Awesome.

Hmm. I'm game for the Mad Cat II if no one else is.

Has anyone started to work on a Sun Spider article? Or a Roughneck one?

I mean, I know both of those aren't canon yet, but a MotW for machines with convertible stats (And have been stated as planned-for-canon, IIRC) but are only apocryphal as of yet isn't normal, but I've found both are designs with some merit.

I would like these to be honest. I am a big fan of the roughneck.

Request for a canon unit however, The Pegasus

The Pegasus is a hovercraft, not a mech.  Unless you meant the Perseus.

I think I'll set up two seperate MOTW style-things and put them up the week of the MWO 2018 Championship. Anyone got any agreement on that?

Outside of trying to figure out what the archive is and is not available and thus could use an update, I'd like to get another person's take on the Hound.  It doesn't look like it had been reviewed previously and it is only the one chassis.

Now that the Stanley Cup finals are over, I'll probably take a crack at writing up something new.  I might take a stab at one of those archived mechs that is no longer available.

The Pegasus is a hovercraft, not a mech.  Unless you meant the Perseus.

Yes I did, it got removed by the author, however if we could grab a VoTW with Pegasus as well that works.

I removed the Perseus MOTW (and most of my other articles) for eventual rewriting. Just went over them one day and decided, "nah, i can't have these up, not as they are".
The Perseus article is unfortunately one of those that need a bit more work, i think, as i ended up disliking the 'Mech.
Of course, if someone wants to write their own take on the 'Mech, be my guest.

There's a separate Vehicle of the Week schedule thread stickied. Not exactly active, but then again there are no people making requests, recommend placing that Pegasus request there, perhaps someone will do that.

I did write an article for it (last year?) but i don't like the 'Mech and as a result i don't think the article ended up good at all.
So, not problem from my end if you want to write about it. Saves me from needing to revise my article at all, i can just pretend it never happened.

That's a fairly common sentiment for the Perseus.
