Novel Scenarios
« on: 22 October 2013, 02:09:14 »
Skimming through the books I thought about setting up several scenarios as well as the conditins.

First
1st FCCW Battle for Yare, Kathil 3062

Defenders- 2nd NAIS Cadre
8 Po Heavy Tanks
Stealth
Enforcer
Hermes II
Hatchetman

Attackers-  8th FedCom RCT
MR-V2 Cerberus (Commander)
Penetrator
BGS-1T Barghest
Caeser
Chameleon
Talon
+2 mechs, perhaps one is a Battle Hawk

The 2nd NAIS may perhaps have upgraded Po Heavy Tanks, replacing the AC/10 for LB-10X.
Map would be rolling hills on one edge with the city on the adjacent edge and the facility opposite the hills.

Map
Open area at the center, eastern edge is dense woods with some hexes on fire.  Road comes from the south and passes to the north with a large open area and a stone quarry to the east with shear cliffs surrounded by the woods.  The quarry cliffs are no more than 4 to 5 levels above the quarry floor.

Issue here is that each wave of reinforcements is retreating from another battle and their damage varies.  The Falcon reinforcements will be the least battered, with light damage on the tanks.  The Stormhammer first wave has damage to the mech's knee and Fenrir.  Second wave has some damage to the Joust and armor damage to the Templar with a ERPPC crit.  The worst off is the rescue force of the Highlanders, with heavy damage to the armor of all machines, some motive damage, and probably low on ammo.  Probably some pilot damage too.

The Stormhammer units are veteran with the random regular pilot/crew and the Highlanders are a mix of veteran & regular.  Both forces are fanatical.  The Jade Falcons are a mix of Clan veteran & regular for the mechs & BA, the armor a mix of Clan veteran and regulars (4/5 & 5/6) due to their experience in the desant.

The battle starts with the Stormhammer Wolfhound leading the force that plugs the road north while Jade Falcon forces move up from the south on the road.  After a few turns the Storm Raider leads Stormhammer reinforcements in from the south having followed the Falcons at best speed.  Another few turns the Templar III arrives with the Joust causing the Falcons to make a break out attempt after a turn in contact with the Templar III.  Two turns after the Falcons regroup to break out the Highlanders arrive from the north to help slam the door closed on any Falcon escape.
