I'm cautiously pleased with what I've seen.
Bumblebee is scaled right to his G1 origins and a possible G1 Starscream clash? This could be a interesting film.

I swore off the Bayformer monstrosities after the third one and had every intention of not giving this one a second thought.

That G1 Starscream, though. That might make me reconsider.

Starscream as a Double Ugly, I fully approve. Sold on this movie just for seeing that transformation.

Yeah, Starscream looked good . . . but I could not tell if he was a F-15 or a MIG-29/31/35 . . . should be 15, right?

Looks like an F-4 in the trailer to me. G1 was an F-15.

Yeah, the intakes made me think MiG and I did not notice the tailpipe but figured they would stay true to twin engine.

And that is a F-4, unless there is another fighter that has the same shape on its tail end.

Yeah, pretty sure it's an F-4. Looking at still frames, the single vertical stabilizer, the down angled horizontal and rounded air intakes are a pretty good ID point.

It is definitely not an F-15, but... whoever that is... has a very modern-stylized G1 seeker head, (right down the intakes(?) on the sides) for it not to be a ‘Con.

Also I hate the Aerialbots, so it is of vital importance that they not be in this movie.

EDIT: Also, he has red eyes, which, as I recall, was basically the international code for being a villain in an 80’s cartoon.

Would it be too much to ask that the movie gets decent toys? I was highly disappointed by SR-71 Jetfire, while the cars at least at the legends level were mostly decent.

I'm glad to see the VW at least, and it seems Volkswagen reversed thier stance on not allowing thier cars to be used.

The F4 as a enemy makes sense since many were turned into target drones while the F15s are still flying. Cant give those a bad name.

Need more trailers though... More boom less The Shape of Water.

Was rather happy to see Bee in his true form that I remember from the 80s. Wonder how many are going to whine about how wimpy BB is now that hes not a Camaro.

They used a F-22 as Starscream before, so it's not going to be that

I have to admit, I'm not excited. They've only changed the vehicle forms away from the Bayformers, not the robot modes or the transformations.

There's nothing there that grabs me, although there's nothing that repulses me about it either.

Let's just say I'm hopefully neutral about this.

It's looking mighty good in comparison to previous live Transformer movies.

My impressions is this is early 1980s. Most the car i saw were 70s and i caught glimpson of my own early 1980s Cutless Supreme in
beach scene.

Why Bubblebee is alone is confusing to me. Is he scouting as if this is set in a Michael Bay version T universe where he could have arrived earlier than the others? I don' think so, do to him doing stuff with a lot people watching.

Flying transformer is definitely re-configuring from a F-4 Phantom II, i noticed single tail wing in back as well as the long glass canopy for what looked like two crew version. I doubt it be Aerobot because i suspect that it's Bubblebee vs world/one-transformer sort thing angle i'm getting from the trailer. Starscream maybe bit too powerful for Bubblebee. But who knows. I was surprised how small he is, i remember the Michael Bay Version being larger.

Michael Bay doesn't appear to have had a direct hand in this one. It might not suck.

Edit: never mind, he's the producer. And according to IMDB, it's set in 1987.
