joking about Blazers on the Hunchie thread prompted the revival
simple 3025 swap out, armor up by a ton to max
add the blazer where the AC was and fill in the emptiness with sinks

That's actually quite nasty.

Just realized this monster cant overheat on its own by more than six,
So for a 3025 mech its fairly efficient

Here's the Urbanmech I mentioned, just a simple rip and replace with a Blazer and heat sinks. Like the Hunchback, it has a very reasonable heat curve for 3025.

Here's a slightly more radical Centurion modification. To increase the heat sinks, it replaces the LRM-10 with two LRM-5s (but retains the two tons of ammo), and drops the rear facing medium.

The Awesome is about the only 3025 'Mech that can reasonably mount two Blazer Cannons (I'm sure a Rifleman can do it, just not reasonably...). It also strikes me as something the FWL might do during a PPC shortage, though like the Panther this is a design that should be partnered with stock variants.

Interestingly enough, I had postulated a Renaissance-Era prototype Awesome AWS-9M-X that kept the 320XL engine and SPL, but ditched the added MPL and Streaks and used a trio of Blazers instead of the "still in development" ER PPCs >:D

Overview:
The HCT-2X was a prototype Battlemech developed by Team Banzai for use on the
battlefields of the Fourth Succession War.
Capabilities:
The 2X combined the firepower of the seldom utilized Binary Laser Cannon with
the extra strength and speed of experimental Triple Strength Myomer on the
frame of the Hatchetman BattleMech. The 2X used the high heat curve of the
Binary Laser Cannon to activate the Triple Strength Mypmer, which turned the
Hatchetman into a deadly urban brawler.
Battle History:
During the Battle of Northwind, the HCT-2X was part of a rear guard effort to
give cover for Team Banzai and Bradley's Bravos to redraw to the Hills. The
pilot of the 2X was using an industrial park as cover for ambushing Kurita
Mechs. During the fighting, some chemical tanks ruptured, flooding the
battleground with a mixture of caustic gas. The gas reacted with exposed
experimental Triple Strength Myomer, causing the TSM to burst into flames. The
pilot was able to escape, thanks to the Full-Head Ejection System. However,
the HCT-2X Hatchetman was a complete loss.
Deployment:
Team Banzai's HCT-2X was a unique machine, never to be rebuilt. The Full-Head
Ejection System insured that valuable performance data was saved from the
wreckage of the Mech.

Seconded, and funny because I was just thinking earlier today how a Blazer on the Atlas would actually make it a much more capable and resilient design... ^-^
