Overview:
The HCT-2X was a prototype Battlemech developed by Team Banzai for use on the
battlefields of the Fourth Succession War.
Capabilities:
The 2X combined the firepower of the seldom utilized Binary Laser Cannon with
the extra strength and speed of experimental Triple Strength Myomer on the
frame of the Hatchetman BattleMech. The 2X used the high heat curve of the
Binary Laser Cannon to activate the Triple Strength Mypmer, which turned the
Hatchetman into a deadly urban brawler.
Battle History:
During the Battle of Northwind, the HCT-2X was part of a rear guard effort to
give cover for Team Banzai and Bradley's Bravos to redraw to the Hills. The
pilot of the 2X was using an industrial park as cover for ambushing Kurita
Mechs. During the fighting, some chemical tanks ruptured, flooding the
battleground with a mixture of caustic gas. The gas reacted with exposed
experimental Triple Strength Myomer, causing the TSM to burst into flames. The
pilot was able to escape, thanks to the Full-Head Ejection System. However,
the HCT-2X Hatchetman was a complete loss.
Deployment:
Team Banzai's HCT-2X was a unique machine, never to be rebuilt. The Full-Head
Ejection System insured that valuable performance data was saved from the
wreckage of the Mech.
