If you've been in the BattleMech board, you know I've had artillery Archers on the brain for a little while, and I wanted to share the mental image I've had.  For those who haven't been, shame on you this is the Battletech forum, go make 'Mechs!

This is the personal ride of Mirage Wieczorek, commander of the mercenary unit Kampfgruppe Wieczorek working in the new Tamar Pact.  Mounting dual SRM 6s in the arms and twin LRM 5s in the left torso, it keeps the Archer's traditional missile systems as backup weapons in case of enemy scouts.  In the right torso is a Thumper-class artillery piece which is the primary tool of this 'Mech, giving long ranged fire support to its allies.  Replacing the Archer's traditional center torso lasers is communications equipment, letting it monitor long range sensors and coordinate the efforts of its battalion.

There'll be minor changes in the end art, I wanted to shrink the main gun down a little bit to better balance the Archer.  Art, of course, is drawn by the awesome Matt Plog.

Is it supposed to be called Wehrwolf instead of Werwolf (the proper German way to write the name of the mythical creature)?

yeah, it's supposed to be a pun on the proper spelling of werwolf, this one meaning 'defend.'  It's also an anime nod to the series 86, where "Wehrwolf" was the callsign of one of the characters.

And another view, to show off both the big cannon and the Clan tech missile launchers.  Up close it has a shotgun pull of 24 SRMs, plus another 20 LRMs.  Shame you can't do Fist Fire with missiles; the Crusader-looking forearms on this thing would be wicked if that were the case...

So since I made an Archer with two Thumpers, and the new Stone Rhino just appeared for MWO, I figured why not photoshop something together and see how it looks.  I think it turned out pretty well, though I did have to fiddle a lot with the guns to get them in the right scale and not tipping the 'Mech over from the sheer size.  No color because I haven't decided on a color scheme, but it'll probably be red and black because I have no creativity.

Yeah, though the gun ended up being a lot smaller than I'd expected, which is a shame because it fit in so perfectly.  Oh well, it's a Thumper, it's not like it's supposed to be a Long Tom or Sniper, not a really big artillery piece.  I have a really crappy photo of the kitbash, forgive the potato phone I used to get it.  I'll get better pictures later, I think.
