The Dragoons novella is titled "Misery," isn't it?

I’m glad I didn’t submit and potentially curse some poor character to the one of the most boringass names imaginable (when I was an undergrad there were seven of us with the same name in a college of 9000)

If you ever have the chance, Blaine, I'd love to see a 'where are they now' to some of the back-ground characters that appear for a sentence or two in your stuff.

Interesting to see that one fan name that's used somewhere in a novel is Grimm. It warms this old Oberon fan's heart to think House Grimm isn't dead yet in the Dark Age. (Hope Mr. Pardoe isn't too cruel and the character isn't just a throwaway redshirt...)

Sorry to disappoint - but Grimm, as it turns out, is a Clan Warrior in the novel.  One cameo reference.  While I think the future of BattleTech is rooted in the past, I won't be rekindling House Grimm.  Not ruling it out, just not my cup of tea.

Interesting point on the "term paper" comment.  In the writing class I help teach yesterday, one of the students asked a question about "reading levels".  The instructor giving the lecture replied "Once I found out the Economist is written to a 12th grade reading level, I was done with that system.  The majority of what's out there is written at the '9th grade level'."

A little venting on bad reviews...

https://blainepardoe.wordpress.com/2019/01/12/bad-reviews-ive-had-on-amazon-and-my-less-than-subtle-rebuttals/

Blaine "Buck" Pardoe

Hmm, I've read a few of those reviews.  I would not call that a 100% honest representation of all of them.

Hence "venting".  I think an author is more than entitled to read reviews however they read them, regardless of intent.

So...we have a Smoke Jaguar POW.
A former  Smoke Jaguar turned Nova Cat
A Nova Cat
And a Scorpion.

We know some Jags ended up as the Fidelis.
We know THAT ending is semi-apocryphal.

Trent...presumed dead on Huntress
Moon...injured, captured and due to be sent back to the IS as a POW
The Scorpion.....a Seeker. Could we be about to locate the missing saKhan Ren Posavatz?
Another Nova Cat....who cares.

I'm going to guess we might find out about the Great Betrayal by those who were their blood, who the second group of betrayers were.

That Camp Owl4 had warriors going back to Tukayyid and Operation Revival might also provide a significant boost in numbers...

That might explain what happened to Posavatz...captured on Tukayyid and interned. Might also explain the presence of a Nova Cat. Maybe there are warriors from more than one Clan? Sounds like a DC facility that was taken by the Word.

Would the Word not have slain them out of hand as they did other Clanners?

Lots of questions but I guess few answers
