Hi all, first post to the new-era new thread!
Well, that last one was certainly powerful and different for a Doctor Who episode, wasn't it? But, as with "The Zygon Invasion/Inversion", discussion of it would probably violate several forum rules, particularly seeing as it involved a very uncomfortable period of U.S. history and there wasn't much sugar-coating of the negativity here.
Having said that, I do think this would have worked better as a pure historical, rather than have to introduce a pretty impotent sci-fi villain. (From just how far in the future did Krasko come???). The only mildly interesting thing about him was that he prefers to try and change history by "nudges", rather than grand actions, so depending on just where and when he ended up, there's still a lot of room for him to do quite a bit of timeline damage--only now it would be motivated out of pure spite, rather than racism.
What are the chances this guy ends up having something to do with the Stenza, who seem to be getting set up as one of this new era's major villain species? They like to engage in targeted hunts of other species, will pay to engineer WMDs, and are into ethnic cleansing...is there a pattern emerging here?
cheers,
Gabe
