Anyone remember any dial making programs?
« on: 05 June 2013, 14:31:50 »
Hey folks.  I've been looking around the old mechwarrior fan sites for something like this, but am coming up with nothing.  Does anyone remember any downloadable programs that could let you make a dial for yourself?  I remember seeing a few custom dials floating around (and joke ones like The God Dial), but wasn't sure how people made those.

Face it - MW:DA had, for its run, massively greater commercial success than BattleTech's ever had. Over two million click-base minis - want to guess where the number of BT minis comes in? I'd guess on the order of a few percent of that. While BT has survived for 30 years, we've never had the same number of players at any point. The pity was that unlike BT, MW:DA ended up being run by businessmen, not game fanatics.

I never saw a program, just files you could edit to customise dials. I have those archived somewhere, unless another person has them closer to hand.

That is a zipped folder containing every custom dial and card making document I've got archived. Not very well organised, but should give you a good place to start.

http://www.7-zip.org/ will open it. Very small program, trusted widely. Basically an updated and streamlined version of winzip.

Sorry about that.

Hey, really appreciate this stuff man, I just got around to pouring through it.  I'm starting a club up at my local library and going to try to teach kids how to play, so being able to make stuff I don't have will be handy. :)

I think that I am going to attempt this, it shouldn't be too hard to make an Adobe or HTML doc. I will update as progress happens.
I am also starting to experiment with a 3D printer for new sculpts, I think that it may an inexpensive alternative to injection molds. Also maybe a good use for old milk jugs if I can figure out a way to liquify and turn into media for the printer.

Please and thank you! I'm a couple weeks from creating a batch of customs and a point and click would be very nice to have.

I believe the yahoo group MW_resources has long gone to spam bots.
If your wade through it you may find it there.

I'd just like to get my hands on the old cost program for access that used to be around.  I think Soothsayer made it maybe . . .  I know Clan Mutant Sea Bass has a copy but apparently theirs doesn't email well.

Just bumping this.  Got a new computer, and tried to download those pilot cards/dile maker files onto it, but it seems that link is no longer any good.  Anyone who can help?
