Assault PPC
« on: 26 March 2024, 10:26:03 »
the Assault PPC is a concept of taking the heavy PPC, increase the weight, heat and crits and making it deal the same damage as an AC20 at PPC ranges.

Assault Particle Projector Cannon:
Tonnage: 14
Heat: 20
Damage: 20
Crits: 6
ranges(In hexes): 3/6/12/18

Can it take a PPC capacitor?:Yes
will it explode if the capacitor is fully charged and hit?:Yes

I might see it also sporting a penalty to PSR's the round you shot, much like the heavy gause does.
It's not who you kill, but how they die!
You can't shoot what you can't see.
You can not dodge it if you don't know it's coming.

that's actually a good and fair idea, a PSR every second shot you fire or similar akin to the heavy gauss rifle is not only fair for the damage output but also a genius idea.

Instead of PSR, why not a turn that your sensors are overloaded - if you have probe it can compensate, but if so it can't do its job for a while....

15 tons seems high, since you can get there for 11 tons with a Heavy and Capacitor...

had to make it heavier than the HPPC + cap for the reason it's damage output is that of a thunderbolt 20 or AC/20 with PPC range. Plus I was told it's just a RISC Hyper laser that doesn't explode, weighs twice as much, shorter range and less heat. with a capacitor it's a shorter ranged Hyper Laser that can explode if the PPC Cap is hit when charged. otherwise it won't explode. I was only trying to follow the weight pattern that was set up by the PPC Family for IS.

Would hate to see the heat build up on a ER Assault PPC

Weight pattern?  You mean 3/7/10 for Light/Normal/Heavy?  That would lead me to 14 tons vice 15.

there we go reduced the weight by one ton so it's more inline with the pattern for IS PPCs.

Extended Range Assault Particle Projector Cannon:
Tonnage: 14
Heat: 30(35 with capacitor)
Damage: 20
Crits: 6
ranges(In hexes): 0/7/14/23

Can it take a PPC capacitor?:Yes
will it explode if the capacitor is fully charged and hit?:Yes
