I really wanted to get in on boot camp of it, but it was jam-packed every time I was available to play. Which is just plain awesome for CGL, its looking like that have a real big hit on their hands!

I have them actually. Still don't have anyone to play with.

Obviously I am slanted in my perspective of the game since I did some writing for the product.  What I loved the most was the differences in the ships performance.  Destroyers - they can move, but they cannot hang in a fight for too long before they risk having their keels broken.  One guy lost a ship and said, "Every man overboard..." My response "Dude, your cruiser is at 2000 meters up.  They can jump over the side, but it's a race to the ground with the rest of the ship."

I will say this, I wrote the French material - and the French ARE COOL, as are the Italians.  The French always seem to catch flak in military games, but the French in this game are daring and bold aviators and fighters.

If you're on the fence about buying this, jump off - this is going to be a neat Steampunk game to play and play and play.

At one point Leviathans Bootcamp was at 275% of capacity.  They had eight slots and 22 people showed up for one session.

Every time I went past the Catalyst booth there were at least 10-15 people gathered around the Levs demo table.

I say "sadly" because I am still waiting for a very good Cooper book to be written.

Well, you could always write the book yourself....  ;)

Believe me, after reading this book I was tempted to add this to my list of books I should someday write.

I've heard negative reviews from other sources as well. It's too bad; D. B. Cooper's robbery is one of the great American mysteries and I would definitely be interested in a good book about it.

Wouldn't you feel funny signing books that the Chrisses wrote?

Strange, for some reason your last name was popping into my head yesterday. I am not sure why. I am not sure which novel of yours for BT that I have read, but I know that I have. It may have been one that I borrwed from some friends so probalby don't actually own it. :(

Of course the bibliography reads like a list of awesome books. I'm out in California, so I am nowhere near the book signing. If so I would have wanted to get a sig on a copy of TRO:3055. Favorite BT book fo all time, yes I know its a TRO but my favorite. [drool]

Good luck with the signing!

That's a dangerous assumption to make around here. :)

Pitty I live no where close. Exodus Road/MW2 Strat guide's clan history is what dragged me hook line and sinker in to Battletech/Mechwarrior for nearly 15 years!  I do not have my first novel either sadly donated it to my old high school library to share the BT love, best thing was the half dozen books i donated were always out when ever I went to go look.

As I cannot say it in person, Thank you Mr. Pardoe for bringing me in to this wonderful universe. I hope when they start putting out new novels, you keep contributing to the universe.

Well done sir!
We hear that there are tumults and riots in Rome, and that voices are raised concerning the army and the quality of our soldiers. Make haste to reassure us that you love and support us as we love and support you, for if we find that we have left our bones to bleach in these sands in vain, then beware the fury of the legions.

While I agree that Alternate History is somewhat important (Nothing like letting us look at events from a different perspective), I'm going to vehemently deny that Steampunk has any relation to it any more. Most steampunk just feels like tired Victorian fantasy, not an alternate one.

To me alternate history is more fun than anything else. One of my favorites is in Red Alert series of games.
Star Captain John Malthus, Kappa Galaxy, Clan Jade Falcon
Star Captain Johannes Bekker, Delta Galaxy, Clan Ghost Bear
Captain John Bailey, 1st Avalon Hussars, Federated Suns
Tai-i Jiro Takahashi, 2nd Legion of Vega, Draconis Combine
