That long? I recall reading from somewhere reliable life expectancy for CD-ROM would be 25 years. In home conditions maybe? And I have had CD-ROM failure to occur in less than 10 years for MechWarrior 4: Mercenaries, and MekTek has pulled the game offline >:(
In my experience, one should not expect home-burned CDs to last more then 10 years, even when stored properly. Failures from profession production is a lot more rare.

Berserk is the manliest thing in the world, just barely edging out the Krupp Excavator 288 and handily beating the P51 Mustang. There is just SOMETHING about it that draws you and keeps you. "The world IS going to kill me, but I'll still spit in its eye and go down swinging, damn it all!"
Yeah that's what resonance with me, the essence of the berserk rage and fighting not to kill but to live, to survive.

So after I turned every manga I wanted to keep into tightly organized CBRs, the total is 757 individual volumes of manga at nearly 50 gigabytes. this isn't counting the American comics in a separate folder, or the artbooks. A LOT of artbooks.

Stuff I'm planning to read now and that I forgot I had: Appare Jipangu, Futari Ecchi, Fire Emblem, and My Lovely Ghost Kana. Stuff that I'll never read again despite loving it: Saikano. It's just not something you ever read more than once.

In Goblin Slayer shit got serious. Like trying to get one over Berserk. Meat shields

On top of THAT, some women seem to have metal armor in shape of bikini and without gambeson underneath ::)

If you're fan of Berserk & Gate manga because of all the gorn and dislike/hate anime because "the best parts" are cut/censored, then Goblin Slayer is for you. This is The Shit O0

Well, those stuff simply enhance the story; so the real question is does Goblin Slayer have real meat?

Also reading Berserk really put me into a mood for my TW: Warhammer and fighting beastmen and chaos....

I'm not best at analyzing such things. But what i see, characters do have some depth. Goblin Slayer himself gets decent amount of frames about his background and what led him to where he is. TVtropes says this:
Quote
Heavily inspired by tabletop role-playing games, the whole story spawned from the author, Kumo Kagyu, asking himself "What would a fantasy world be like if it were home to an adventurer who only hunted goblins?" And the rest as they say, was history.
Goblins themselves aren't your typical bottom-of-barrel mooks as they are often represented in CRPGs. They are much closer to Tucker's kobolds

Its a pretty good story. The MC is very good at what he does, not through some amazing natural talent or imbued power, but because he has relentlessly and tirelessly striven to slay goblins. He plans, thinks, tries new methods and adopts those that work and discards what does not. He has no ego. None of his weapons or armor are glitzy even though he is considered a high level adventurer. Fame and treasure mean little or nothing to him.

When the manga and light novels begin he encounters a young priestess and she winds up joining this solo  warrior, and the process of him coming out of his shell begins. One nice thing about this so far is that, although there come to be a few female characters joining with Goblin Slayer there is really no harem vibe.

The manga is far more graphic than the light novels.
We hear that there are tumults and riots in Rome, and that voices are raised concerning the army and the quality of our soldiers. Make haste to reassure us that you love and support us as we love and support you, for if we find that we have left our bones to bleach in these sands in vain, then beware the fury of the legions.

Congrats! Volume 38 is already out in Japan and I'm waiting for English translation. Or is it out by now?

The primary manga I'm still getting is Case Closed...while it's only been published since 1994 (still ongoing last I heard), it has over 90 volumes published in Japan...I think the latest I've gotten here in the States was vol 63 (whatever was released in the last couple months)...I have about 120+ episodes of the anime (the five season sets released so far in the States), and 5 or 6 of the movies (again, whatever's been released in the States), but it has had some 850+ tv episodes, 20+ movies and a number of OVA's released in Japan...

Well, I'm reading Volume 39 right now, so... yes. It exists. Would you like a link to the current translation group? Or does that count as piracy?

Giving a try to A Bride's Story (Otoyomegatari). Interesting history, generally i like historical mangas, even if the are of the "romantical" kind.

"A Bride's Story" is a great series.  Kaoru Mori writes great slice-of-life and romance period pieces.  Have all the current volumes released through Yen Press ( 1 to 8 ).  Volume 9 is coming out in September IIRC.

If you end up liking Bride's Story, I recommend Mori's earlier work Emma (Aka: Victorian Romance Emma) if you have not read it yet.

Looks like I may have to start a couple more series shortly...according to the new Previews, in about three months, a hardcover, two volume Queen Emeraldas series and a Space Pirate Captain Harlock series are supposed to be starting...

Will give a try to Emma. I  like the interconnected histories, but i have to admit that i love the way she draw the traditional local vestments, and i am using it to mine material for a future stage of my Greyhawk RPG campgain (some part will happen in a Persian/Arabian nights type of place).

The New Gate
This is a Fantasy Adventure story, with main character sucked into VR he was playing. However it's nor game anymore.  It does give a Overlord feel to it, but it's has more differences.  Apparently the player have been gone for centuries in game play but things got real.  I know this is a story told many times before, but i enjoyed this. It has balance of thought out and interesting plot and dramatic moments mixed into touch of comedy.

I like battle angel, but i prefer them getting on with the future than do a prequel. It's pretty darn good, but i'm not interested in it.

Well he is, Pandora in the Crimson Shell is his writing (absolutely love the manga), it's just Rikdou's art. Masamune still puts out a lot of artbooks, if you're into softcore erotica......  :-X
