New Themes? Wow, Thanks!
« on: 09 July 2015, 17:25:19 »
I don't know when they went up, but the new Faction themes for the Forum...wow! They look awesome. Especially the Capellan one! ;D

Just want to say thanks to whomever did these. :) O0

Oh, this is neat.
Too bad there's no Steiner theme, though perhaps it is on the way?

Thanks!!
I switched from the default to the Republic theme, the others were just too bright for comfort.

Take a gander at GhostBear's signature before you look though, because it'll make one of his quotes in there make a lot more sense.  ;D

The lack of a Steiner setup is depressing. Any word on when one might come?

Unless things change dramatically, I think you'll need either a Falcon or Wolf one...

If the Lyran Commonwealth/Lyran Alliance falls, I'm pretty much ignoring canon past 3145 aside from 'mechs. So having a Lyran Theme is still appreciated.

Some of the themes are styled in such a way that the CAPTCHAs are unreadable. The Republic theme for instance. I've had to switch back to a lighter theme until I have posted my ten messages

I want to say thank you to the Admins who made us these awesome themes!  O0

I switched from Default to Hegemony, because it is visually very appealing.  :)

As I am one of those greedy fans I just have to ask if there are more themes to come.  [drool]

I am not a fan of the blue Mech silhouette blocking the Steiner Fist though...

I would assume it is an oversight, considering all the other houses do not have this mech blocking their symbol.
I hope this will be changed.

Nope, not an oversight.

Look, dude, when you are a real mechwarrior you don't need to get all dressed up in cooling suits and cool helmets to work on your mech. You just strip down to your 1980s panties and crop top vest and start wrenchin' it.

In that case, if I may be so bold, I suggest changing it.

Btw., why the Lyran Regulars?

Btw., why the Lyran Regulars?

Outside of the official forum theme, the faction-specific themes were created with honest-to-goodness volunteerism. Any design decisions made were likely determined under the "just because" heading, and unlikely to see modification unless time & energy permits.

The Liao one is the same way. (None of the others are though.) Seems like an "oops" to me.

You are right, Liao also has it. It looks a bit better than the Steiner-version, but in both cases I'd recommend deleting the mech's silhouette. It would surely look better without it.
However Knightmare said it is intentional. Sadly so.

The battlemaster is the brand logo at the moment. Liao was one of the first themes done.

No worries, I was just telling you why the themes are the way they are. BT is very volunteer driven. Typically, if you see something that needs work or improvement it's up to volunteers to make the change.

And here I thought all your "volunteer" work was done by Herb's cats.

I did try out the Republic theme for a few days and it looks good but in the end went back to the default.

Hey All, Where can I find the Republic theme? I kinda liked it but went with the default anyway. That was a while ago though. As I'm focusing on 3145 now, I'd love to see and be able to use the RoTS theme again. Any chances of this happening ?? ??

Where did the Republic of the Sphere vanish?
I had it but when i just opened the site, this defaulted to a normal Battletech profile (the one with quick skin options in upper right corner).

EDIT Too bad there's no theme with dark background, would be easier on the eyes that the forum default :/

I direct your attention to this announcement: http://bg.battletech.com/forums/index.php?topic=50953.msg1175660#new

We'll have it up and running as soon a possible. Just for future reference, if you ever notice a major forum change I suggest checking the announcements section. Usually has the skinny on what's cooking.  O0
