Glorious comrades, I bring great news! No longer must you toil under the oppression of not having a hex map to plot your conquest of the Inner Sphere!

(because it's too big for attachments)
EDIT:
File modified to add La Grave. Dunno how I missed it before.
-
Nicely done!
And 15.6 megs! How did you generate it?
-
Hexographer. On the plus side, each hex is 1.25" and 300 dpi. It's also relatively easy to alter the map for different eras.
-
You are doing good works here.
I shall conquer planets in your name good sir.
Also I think you just answered my question on "Interstellar hexes" in the rules question forum.

I managed to shake down Alexander Knight for his master file. Without any further ado, here's my derivative map with 3052 borders and a few extra worlds added in. Enjoy!
EDIT:
Was missing a couple of planet dots from the recoloring. Added them back in.

Nice!

Sample from the VASSAL module with unit icons.

-
That looks great.
Has it been uploaded yet to the VASSAL module list? Or is it still a work in progress?
I took a quick look and couldn't see it.
-
I'll provide a link to the module in this thread soon. I'll also accept images for units and the like to be added into future versions.
-
Here is a link to the VASSAL module I created. At this stage it's basically a mapboard for you to move regiments from world to world on. The 3025testgame save should have all the 'mech (and aerospace for the OWA) formations placed already.
Feedback welcome!

Wait - what?

Really nice work, Alexander!
A request, if I may: Any chance you could post up a blank map with all the hexes and planets on it? (i.e. the same map just without any house territory coloring on it.) That would be great to use for a campaign to constantly trace and update the territory gains/losses of the various houses as time progresses.
If you can, thanks, in advance!

Oh, these are awesome!! Thank you so much!! ;D O0

That would sadly require redoing almost the entire map in the program I'm using. It might be possible to get something like that by using a paint program and "fill" commands.
-
It sure looks impressive - how do I use it? Can you provide instructions?
-
This is great! you have done a wonderful job thank you for doing this

Great Job! Question how do get Vassal?

Thanks a bunch for creating this map. I'm trying to modify it slightly for a game of mine currently set after the war of 3039. Could you tell me how many hexes you used to make it easier for me to do in hexographer? I appreciate any assistance you can provide.
-
The map in Hexographer is 233 by 179 hexes, with Terra in hex 102 90
-
Thanks a lot man.
-
sorry to be a pain but could you also tell me the size of the hexes. I'm having some trouble duplicating it into hexographer.
-
Hex width is 48 px and Hex Height is 42 px.
-
Alexander, your map gives me a few questions, and I hope someone can answer them:
1) How close to official are these maps? If I tried to use them for a game how would things turn out?
2) Canonically Tikinov is a Regional Capital for the CC, what do people think would happen if the FS where to capture it? Just it by the way, not the rest of the Region, would it still get the Regional Capital RP boost?
-
1.) Pretty close to official. There's a few mistakes that will be corrected in the next version.
2.) It would lose the regional capital RP if captured.
-
The link to the map is dead. Anyone else have it?

Go to the battletech website here:

scroll down to the maps and you can download maps for the 1st and 2nd SW and one for 3025

I don't know if anyone would be interested but here is a portion of my own 3145 map for ISaW.
Happy to put more up.
It is in 6 parts, mainly for my own printing purposes - I do have an overall copy, but this is too large a file to post on here.
Not as good quality as the ones released by CGL, although it is created from the map in FM:3145.
On and off for the past year I have been working on a scenario set in 3145, focussing on the conquest or defence of the Federated Suns. With 4 playable factions (FS, CC DC and Raven Alliance, plus Filtvelt as a sub faction controlled by the FS player).
I'd say its about 60-70% complete. I have come up with ACS spreadsheets for each faction, plus units for Wolfs Dragoons and other famous mercenaries, as well as generic forces.
I've done some work on new unit construction tables for each faction (ie Trinaries for Ravens, purchasing of combined arms regiments or augmented CCAF Regiments, Battlearmour regiments.)
I have been working on my own rules around Pocket Warships and their construction.
Its all turned into a bit of a semi obsession.

Ill post the rest of this map
