Sixth printing, pdf
P. 47 - Range and Target Modifier paragraphs.
PROBLEM: A conflict regarding target number calculation for artillery attacks beyond long range between p. 47 and the table on p. 44 (in particular footnote 12).
SUGGESTION: Make it clear on p. 47 that attacks by any on-board artillery other than by artillery cannons suffer a +4 to-hit modifier for any attack up to 42 inches, and +6 modifier beyond that range. See this thread for details:
https://bg.battletech.com/forums/index.php?topic=85120.0P. 86 - Light Target Acquisition Gear (LTAG) ability
PROBLEM: The description of the ability points the reader to p. 47 for homing or both standard and homing artillery attacks. However p. 47 does not mention homing artillery attacks at all. The relevant rules are on pp. 151-153. It was probably missed when a similar correction was made between fifth and sixth printings in pp. 90 (TAG ability) and 147 (Arrow IV missiles dropped from aerospace units).
SOLUTION: Either add an appropriate reference to homing artillery attack rules on p. 47, or fix the page reference on p. 86.
P. 144 - Copperhead section.
PROBLEM: This section reference artillery homing round rules without telling the reader where to find them.
SUGGESTION: Add a reference to pp. 151-153 similar to the one suggested above for p. 86.
P. 151-153 and possibly others (in particular 47, 86, 90, 144, 147 - same sections as the ones mentioned above)
PROBLEM: Homing rounds rules on pp. 151-153 are in a section titled Off-board Artillery Attacks, but it is unclear if they can be made by on-board artillery, like they can be under TO rules.
SUGGESTION: Make it clear in the rules if Homing Rounds can be used by on-board artillery, and if so - what rules differences, if any, are there between homing artillery on- and off-board attacks.
P. 163 Extreme Range section
PROBLEM: The section seems to have been written without taking artillery attacks into account.
SUGGESTION: Consider making it explicit in this section and/or in the artillery rules (mainly pp. 47 and 151-153, see above for other possible page numbers) that extreme range artillery attacks are not capped at 60 inches (unless on-board artillery attacks are - in which case Range paragraph on p. 47 needs to be corrected, though I don't see why would it be the case considering ranges of most BT artillery) and that artillery attacks at extreme range do not suffer from -1 to damage compared to long (or shorter) range.
