I'm sure we have all played those games that seemed lost one moment only to do a complete 360 at the last second snapping victory from the jaws of defeat! I thought it would be fun to share a game I played yesterday and hear what your own experiences are.
A group of friends and I (DougGlendower, Clansittingducks, TheKeeper, AcewreckingCrew) are in the middle of a solaris league right now. Yesterday was the 60-75 ton matches. I was piloting a modified Hercules with TSM, my opponent (TheKeeper) a Crusader 8S in the Coliseum. The first 2 turns we traded fire with a few hits from my LB-X cluster rounds (my plan was to pray for a floating crit to the left torso and end the match quickly) and her medium lasers. Turn 3 she finally struck with the Heavy Guass Rifle scrapping nearly all the armor on my left leg at close range. My return fire was less than effective. :P
Turn 4 was the turning point, a second HGR hit the left leg again shearing it clean off! I was going down. It seemed to be all over, I had no chance of opening up the range now. So I did what anyone in a last ditch effort would do...alpha strike! I got my wish...but not from a golden BB, oh no, from an ER Medium Laser floater to the CT. Possible crit? 10! Yes; 2 of em'! 1 gyro and 1 HGR location! Game over man! Game Over! Was it skill? No, just dumb luck. But we take our victories where we can get them right? ^-^
