So megameklab said that the mass difference between a foot platoon and a motorized infantry platoon was about 3000kg
3000kg/4=750
So I decided to stat out the little vehicle that they supposedly ride around in.

It's not great. But it is cheap. And it beats walking.

Cute little vehicle, and I could see it being used as a personal dune buggy due to the sheer cheapness of it.  You can't carry much with only 20 kilos of cargo, but it has passenger capacity, and a basic roll-bar+sheet metal protection for them.

From this, you can see how higher tech allows more options/cargo if you wanted.

It gets slower once you load it down with equipment and backpacks and stuff. Presumably it has a truck bed for that, and the 20kg internal storage is for things like mission critical equipment, tools, documents, sentimental trinkets and rations.

3/5 is still faster than infantry... This is one of the things that TPTB didn't get quite right with regard to consistency.

So motorized infantry have tiny all terrain vees like motorcycles and atvs.  Mechanized are the truck guys with up to 6 people per truck.  Btech doesnt quite use the right term, but to be fair their isnt a real term for the motorcycle/ATV infantry we are seeing get deployed more and more--they usually are just special force irregulars.

Also, since they fight from their tiny vee, you can probably ignore the weight of infantry for motorized units, just using the pilot weight as the vee weight.  So a 200kg motorcycle or 400kg with sidecar/2 person ATV.
