Well maybe we get a revised or updated version in a couple of years. Lets hope for the best.  ;)

I know.  I just want to be able to point players at books and say "these have what you need".

With all the amazing work that CGL and their associated individuals have done now that they can finally bring some resolution to the issues that have dogged us all for so many years.  We're so close to that with these 2 TRO compilations that I can almost taste it, but we're not quite there.

Lol, two comments that need to be repeated over in the '55/'58 topic.

Thanks for the ToC Scotty, I think that is a excellent selection and while mostly Omnis has a good selection of generic secondline though I would quibble over the Grizzly and Commando IIC the latter has a really easy proxy in the GoAC box.

For 3055 inclusion Linebacker would have been more apt than Pouncer or Phantom which were later and less widespread . . . no Night Gyr but it had the other 3 from that set.

Since I already have it in my hand, this feels like it's just a little bit late.  And honestly, the relative scarcity of some included 'Mechs doesn't really matter a whole lot, or the Grasshopper wouldn't have made Succession Wars.

One quibble. For the Wolf Trap, I noticed that they had the alternate name as the (Torah) not the (Tora)... that doesn't seem right...

More that the Pouncer and Phantom did not really make it out of the Wolf Clan and I think Vlad killed them when he took over.  On the other hand, the 3 JFSB mechs that did get in had a wider spread.

The Guillotine IIC would have been better than the Grizzly, but they took the ICSB designs so I can understand source.

We knew when the cover was shown that things would get left out, and nothing can appeal to everyone- like I said its a solid foundation for Clan play.

Between TRO:SW and TRO:Clans how many 'Mechs are missing out of those that should probably be included?

Wolves both Empire and Exile still use the Pouncer clear into the Dark Age, and the Phantom is available to the Wolves, Falcons, Horses, and Ravens at the same time.  The Linebacker is Wolves, Kell Hounds, and Ravens.  Seems like a wash to me.

Pouncer was tested in a single cluster during Revival and IIRC the fluff was still getting mixed reviews.  Phantom was developed late Revival IIRC and I do not recall it being in the phone book.  The Linebacker came about before and was supposed to be spread through the touman which would explain how it might have appeared with others.  Like I said, the JFSB entries were more wide spread as part of the Falcon-Jag cooperation so their inclusion and the WCSB mechs exclusion makes sense- plus by the other standard I promote, the Turkina had screen time in a older video game.

This isn't a pretty version, obviously, but it should work until Cubby has less on his plate.

Huh, I wonder what I wrote.

All of the credits from the previous TROs that had a unit that went into the boom are printed on the credits page.  Did you write anything for 3050 Upgrade?

Iirc both had art in the phonebook

With the wider variety of choices there were a lot of omissions. A wide variety from the linebacker to the Apollo. Some 3067 snuck in with the hellion, Akuma, no-dachi and Argus as well... and the lone representative from IS 3060 the Enforcer iii

Yeah, was mostly looking at the Clan stuff since its their introduction.  WCSB had 4 just like the JFSB, just by JFSB fluff which carried over their mechs had a earlier and wider distribution.  I think my comment is being mistaken- I was saying it makes sense the WCSB mechs are not included b/c they are not as main line as the others that were chosen.

Those ****** customers. What were they thinking, sharing all their excitement about the product? ;)

Good question, and something I'm adding to my (not figurative) list of stuff to ask about for The Next Update. But let's assume for now that it's the latter.
