fixed no longer a problem
« on: 25 January 2011, 21:03:48 »
After waiting 30 minutes for an email for account activation, I had to use a different Email account and get a different name.  I never received the email for my usual account.  Now I'm stuck with this stupid name because of it.

Yeah I had to switch 6 months ago from my hotmail email to my other email account to get all the notifications from this forum.  It is fustrasting because my hotmail account is my main account.

Who should I contact about deleting the other account?  I want my user name back from my other self who can't be here.

I generally don't use the Email that is now active here for anything but family.  The last time I registered on the Battletech forums that account started receiving tons of junk mail.  I'm hoping that it doesn't happen again.

I am not totally sure who you should contact.

You might want to PM the Adminstrators Chunga or Fej or maybe the Systems Adminstrator Deathshadow might be able to help you.

Just a shot in the dark.

Good luck

As a warning, it appears we're on hotmails blacklist -- so hotmail accounts ONCE AGAIN do not work with our server.

Which is bad when we pass gmail's muster -- and they are usually far FAR worse than M$ about this stuff.

Noted.  I'll go ahead and change my email to my yahoo account, just to be safe.

silly question/idea - I don't know if this will work, but

can you set up your other email account to forward classicbattletech.com emails to your hotmail account?

and if you can, I (and others?) would be curious to find out of hotmail would then block those forwarded emails as well as those that come direct from classicbattletech.com ?
