Never watched R&M, but I'll give this a shot (when I find out where it'll air internationally - probably Prime or Netflix).

If we can have books like "Redshirts" we can have this :)

Enterprise and Neelix are already things that happened, so at worst 7 of 9 could only ever get third place.

Neelix was nowhere near as bad a character as say Jar Jar, and Enterprise had several really good things going for it:

1) I thought it did well in showing humanity’s wonder at their first explorations into the wider universe.

2) some terrific Klingon ships (and one bad decision costing us another that could have been great...alas, poor D4 cruiser, we never knew you)

3) an excellent fourth season, up to the series finale.

4) Shran and anything else Andorian.

I see this differently. This is comedy for younger crowd as in teenagers and 20-something and those of youthful at heart.   I'm not against it, aside from the original cartoon of TOS which Gene Roddenberry said was canon, nothing i think other than live television show and film really part canon (belong to whatever timeline they belong to).

Below Decks is more the original TOS/DS9/VGR/TNG continuation, nothing so far says it belongs in Discovery/Picard Prime Timeline.

There suppose to be a second show, but it maybe until next year till we see it given the delays with production.   Heck, i can see cartoons more likely keep going in production since you don't need be in person to work on them.

The Prime timeline is the TOS/TAS/TNG/DS9/VOY timeline.  Discovery and Picard are in canon and in continuity with all the old Trek shows.

I'm not getting into this sort verbal discussion. Star Trek (and it's Fandom) has fractioned too much to much in my eyes, no offense Locan Nagle.

I just call them as i see them.  Discovery & older Enterprise brought a lot changes to way the past seen that does not match up to the older television shows which did try keep things together.

I mean, you're welcome to your headcanon, but the official word is that DISCO and Picard and Lower Decks are canon and in continuity with the older shows and movies.

I wasn't aware that Lower Decks was canon.  That's going be interesting Star Logs for Star Fleet try scratch their heads at given it's slap stick like in nature.

There's a canon episode where Captain Sisko has to save Captain Kirk form an exploding Tribble, I think we'll be OK.

Neelix was a character who endangered the Voyager crew more often than he helped.  I mean, for crying out loud, he managed to poison the ship with his cooking.  Not the crew, the ship itself!  That is basically an insurmountable level of incompetence.

Enterprise was a good idea with an absolutely terrible execution.  There was a lot of potential with the show but they wasted it.

To be fair, it wasn’t Neelix that poisoned the ship, so much as his ingredients. Even Riker said “the chef is only as good as his ingredients”.

I agree with his POV, while "officially" disco and enterprise may be part of the "official" timeline they fit better in either the new alternate timeline, or another split timeline, than the original one.

personally I watched s1 of Disco, and was wincing really bad at the "klingons" every time they showed up.

Looks like the 2nd kid show has been given a name.  Star Trek: Prodigy. Reported on Deadline.

Its going to be on Nickelodeon. Kind weird premise to me, Rebellious teenagers find a wrecked Star Fleet Starship and go off into space.  It's kid show, so i understand.  I keep thinking of what happened to Khan in Star Trek II.  If these Teenagers encounter a Federation vessels, their going find their new ship disabled.  If it was going be semi-realistic.

While Babylon 5 is more realistic early Star Trek still had some basis on real life science. But that was before technobabble become just that, babble.

Aside from using lightspeed lag as a plot point in The Squire of Gothos, I an't think of anything remotely resembling real life science in Trek.

Not necessarily.  Depends on how much of the Federation is left.

That's entirely good point. Nothing has been said about what when this is supposed to be happening. However it was described as rebellious teenagers. So I don't know it sounds kind of hokey to me. Baby I'll be better once they executed it's just the premise sounded bad when they described it. Maybe they will be like the old tomorrow people that was made in Britain aired on Nickelodeon back in the 80s.

There is multiple time lines going on in Star Trek now. From Disco is before now way after, Strange New Worlds before Kirk, Picard 20 years later, Lower Decks after where Voyager left off but before Picard. Lets keep it one time line please.

There is only one timeline.

But shows set in various times during that timeline.

I am going to be generous and just call them alternate universes, calling it a single timeline reflects badly on the creators.

That's a discussion that'll get this thread locked again - sufficient to say that the owner of the franchise says there is only one timeline. Hence there is only one timeline.

I understand that this is your perspective, but don't expect to have others to share that perspective if they see only Four Lights.

I am sorry folks get into a tizzy. I was more referring to Star Trek TNG episode Parallels when Worf was popping around in different timelines clearly existing parallel with shows canon timeline.

Below Decks and Prodigy can be easily fit into either timelines. If we dont accept they exist separately or in one and the same.

Anyways. Is this it for all new Star Trek shows coming out? Two animated shows, Picard, Discovery, and new Strange New Worlds currently in listed.
