Yeah.  That's why they did it. Sorry I hit the wrong button. They did it because of this from TechManual.

Quote
Most BattleMechs also make room for a foldout passenger seat, allowing one warrior to assist others forced to bail out in the field or when transporting VIPs. Indeed, some BattleMech cockpit designs go so far as to include a full ejection seat for the passenger and even provide them with some controls, such as communications systems.

That removes one of the unique things about the Hatchetman.

Chiming in as another that would love Jihad era novels.  A Devlin Stone trilogy especially would go a long way to helping "fix" even parts of the modern era by giving us a reason to have cared about him at all!

Plus just a nice clean narrative viewpoint in the era would make it more accessible in general.

When i came back to bt after a 25+ year haitus, i highly consider rots.  Then it got ilclanned.  Went with wob...  I have not been disappointed with their utter hate towards the abominations.  I would love to see a stone trilogy with the rise and fall of the rots from his eyes.

Althought the good news is in the Modern era he is now dead so Stone no longer matters.  He died via pillow fight.

The saint is Apollyon. (The Disciples of Apollyon see him as a saint.) The Protege's identity has not yet been revealed.

I had a feeling Apollyon was the saint.  Now the protege... that is some annoyance we will have to wait for a reveal.  Hopefully an actual source book with WoB return!!!

It wouldn't be the first time Sarna.net got something wrong.

Also I think there's room for confusion. Calvin could have been a protégé of the master, but not the protégé.
Good news is the lab boys say the symptoms of asbestos poisoning show an immediate latency of 44.6 years. So if you're thirty or over you're laughing. Worst case scenario you miss out on a few rounds of canasta, plus you've forwarded the cause of science by three centuries. I punch those numbers into my calculator, it makes a happy face.

pro·té·gé
noun
a person who is guided and supported by an older and more experienced or influential person.

Who ever it is.  From the words of the Protege...  I thought it would have been someone else, but the actual protege speaks I believe in the "8" entry.  The person is a man, has 6 legs, a 3rd eye, and wears blue cloak with white trim.  The clothing might actually help us in identifying this individual?  Also was guided by the Master, so it is a manei domini up there and not some outside WoB person in the IS.

So the book gives us a few initials for RoS bigwigs who made requests for research on various bioweapons - DS, VSD, DR and DAL.

The first three seem obvious (Devlin Stone, Victor Steiner-Davion and Damien Redburn). But who is DAL? Can't be David Lear (his middle name is Roy I think), and no Allard-Liaos I can think of fit.

Deirdre Armstrong Lear maybe (she was a Doctor after all)?

Personally hoping for Arthur Davion.
We had him take a bombing, then that mysterious voice saying Soon...
and then no payoff?
Boo!

The Master will want a Manei Domini to compliment the abilities of Apollyon. Someone who will do what he can't. This was taken on Terra during Operation Scour. You be the judge.
