(Answered) Battleforce squadron questions
« on: 29 October 2019, 11:15:55 »
Some questions after a recent game of BattleFace:

Fighter Squadrons in combat(page 295):

1: Do fighter squadrons have a damage threshold for purposes of critical hits, or do they only have to deal with crits once they take damage to structure?

2: Do fighters grouped into squadrons retain their Special abilities(such as PNT or BOMB), or do fighter squadrons lose them for simplicity? I ask because the fighter squadron record sheet has no place to record specials.

DropShip Squadrons in combat(page 295):

3: When resolving missile attacks against a DropShip squadron, do you total up the PNT ratings of all the DropShip arcs that bear on the incoming missiles?

Capital Missile Bearings-only launches(page 295):

4: The book says to use the exact same rules as standard-scale combat. Do missiles still fly 50 hexes per turn, or should this be adjusted to reflect the change in scale?

I knew while typing this up that there was one more question, but for the life of me, I could not remember it once I was actively typing:

When an Element launches screens using the SCR ability, does the SCR rating refer to how many screens the unit may launch per turn, or how many it may launch over the course of an entire game? Moreover, can an a Element(or Squadron containing multiple SCR Elements) launch screens at multiple hexes per turn, or must all the screens launched at the same time be targeted on the same hex?

Question 1: Yes.

Question 2: Yes.

Question 3: Yes, because Squadrons are attacked as a single unit, with the actual element struck determined randomly (like TW-scale BA).

Question 4: Yes.

Question 5: SCR# refers to the number of screens an Element may launch in a single turn, and may launch each screen at a different hex. No errata needed, this is just a clarification.

ERRATA:
P. 352, PNT rules, at the end of the rules paragraph:

     If using the Squadrons rules (see p. 326), PNT protects the squadron as a whole. Note the total PNT values of all Elements in a squadron, and adjust this total during the game to account for losses.
