New design Grine Battle Armor

While they are no longer the Smoke Jaguars and have started a new society the irony is not lost on the Fidelis that they deploy Kage battle armor. Bitterness of the combine causes the plates of the armor to rub it's wearer creating a would that never heals.

The Kage is a good design, but has technical downsides. Being that it is a light battle armor it is unable stop clan medium lasers, and inner sphere pulse models. Additionally the unit only mounts a single support weapon, and as such the loss of a single trooper greatly lowers the combat effectiveness of the unit.

When warriors of Fidelis heard of the Afreet battle armor with it's extreme mobility and vibro-claws they felt like it would be a perfect design for their old namesake. The Jaguar hunts from above bounding down to pounce on their foes and a suit of armor which can move from so far fills that void. While the Afreet carries better sensor systems and has integral weapons like the Kage it is still light on armor.

The Grine meets somewhere in the middle of the Afreet and the Kage.  The 4 jump jets and parafoil allow it to ex-machina as a guardian angle matching it's namesake. Mounting 7 points of basic stealth armor and moving fast this design is as hard and reliable in combat. Armed with a David Lt Gauss and a squad support TAG system the Grine can defend itself at long range or call in missile and artillery strikes. Is not much of a match for other medium battle armor that may dedicate more tonnage to weapon systems, but it can hopefully dance at long range peppering adversaries and using the benefits of stealth armor to avoid damage.

Assuming the Grine is going to hang away and direct artillery can a deadly mistake. With a combination of a battle claw and armored glove the unit is swarm capable. With 3 jump jets and a jump booster it can quickly cover a lot of ground switching from spotter to dangerous up close and personal adversary.

While the Fidellis lacks the infrastructure to develop their own custom armor they are looking for ways to effectively constitute this unit from amalgamations of Kage and Void battle armor. The design makes overall sense for them, stealthy, weapon array, armored glove for special ops, decent armor and excellent mobility. It will not hold it's own against other armor, but neither would the Kage or the Afreet.

On a design where space is precious the parafoil is extravagant. While the David Lt is a more quite weapon a similar damage profile at range can be done with a light machine gun. This design also offers magnetic clamps allowing you to ride on non omni mechs and vehicles.

If you wish to forgo the clamps and want to go all the way to improved stealth that is possible as well. I honestly can not design which version I like the best.
