Bah! You're there every year! So, not so much chopped liver as, um... standard fare?  O:-)

The wife forbids any cons until gamer hygiene improves immensely.  Because she won't let me go to a con alone.  :-\

Well I can't say anything about gamer hygiene, but I can get you a good deal on a hazmat suit.....

Bah, give them a demo of Navy showers.  You can even get the right physical type.

I should set up portable showers, and hire a few goons to forcefully eject the worst offenders from whatever they are doing and toss them in.

Adapt the Klingon charity jail to this task.

First, make sure you use a revolvng door that lets them in but not out, and lock the back door.  The start a rumor they're mixed gender showers.

You see, someone who'd actually been there the past few years would know they have not had this for several GenCons. ;)

Nice digs.
I'm fighting con-crud as we speak... Though the BO wasn't that bad this year. But I didn't leave the gaming area very much, either...

Oh well, I can set up a Clan Charity Shower. Get a couple big guys dressed up in Elemental suits to grab them, drag them out, toss them in and hose them down. If they pay we won't use cold water

Ironically SST the movie made me think of Battletech.  Equal parts Inner Sphere (where citizenship incurred mandatory civil or military service in most states prior to 3030) and the Clans.  That scene in particular brought to mind a Freeborn Sibko.

Not surprising.  The book was influential upon the original conception of the game.

I've recently been reading A. Bertram Chandler's John Grimes series, and I've begun to suspect Weisman did as well.
There was a planet colonized through the use of a "Birth Machine" set up as an all male society modeled after Sparta.  (Not at all unlike the Clans).  The symbol of the colony ship, and thus the planet was a Greek Lyre.
In the second story set on Sparta, the Archon's wife seeks to supplant him and remodel the world to suit her own ideals.  Rather like how Archon Masden's wife did.  (Though Ms. Steiner didn't have her husband eliminated).

Pirahnaconda was quite excellent, unlike Sharks in Venice, which lacked hot women and Michael Madsen phoning it in and still being loads better than the surrounding talent.

I wish Brad Dourif had larger roles.  I find the seedy, sleazy characters he tends to play intriguing.

In case anyone's wondering, my inspiration was high school seniors at my church talking (okay, mostly complaining) about reading Oedipus Rex for their senior English class.  Pronunciation gaffes are fun.

Octopus Rex is a fantastic title for a cheap monster film.
