LOCATION: p180, Morale Tables

THE ERROR: Reference marks in column headings appear to be in the wrong column. (Have been transposed one column to the left.)

THE CORRECTION: "Experience level" should have no reference mark, "BattleMechs Morale Target" should have the asterisk, "Combat Vehicles Morale Target" should have the 'dagger', "Infantry Morale Target" should have the 'double dagger', and "Support Vehicles Morale Target" should have the 'section sign'. The 'double section sign' should only appear in the table body, rather than in the headings.
"That's Lieutenant Faceplant to you, Corporal!"

Things that I have learnt through clicking too fast on 'Move Done' on MegaMek: Double-check the CF of the building before jumping onto it, check artillery arrival times before standing in the neighbouring hex, and don't run across your own minefield.

"Hmm, I wonder if I can turn this into a MM map."

1. this is a product of just one afternoon and evening of my work, and it is entirely possible that I've missed penty of errors,

The errata for the upcoming second printing has been posted.  Many of the corrections were page number references, but were not noted in the document.

Also, Alfaryn: I added you to the playtester/factchecker credits.  Thanks a ton for going through those page # references.

ISSUE: The index (pg. 3) calls one fictional story "Glancing Blow". The first page of the story (pg. 68) calls it "Glancing Blows".
POSSIBLE SOLUTION:: Standardize on the correct title, whichever it is.

ISSUE: This is apparently the first printing of TO:AR based on information here. The book refers to itself (pg. 7) as the "Corrected Fourth Printing".
POSSIBLE SOLUTION: Change to "First Printing".

Corrected Fourth Printing

FOG, page 55 points states the rules for Careful Movement are on Page 63, where no rules exist. Page 64 (under MOVEMENT DAMAGEhas a brief blurb on Careful movement but then points to page 61 where the actual rules are located.

Suggest FOG point to actual Careful Movement Rules, Page 61.

THE ERROR AND CORRECTION:
Currently reads:
Add a +1 to-hit modifier to all Missile and Direct-Fire Ballistic weapon attacks for every .2 G (or fraction thereof) above or below the Terran standard 1 G.

Should instead read:
Add a +1 to-hit modifier to all Missile and Direct-Fire Ballistic weapon attacks for every full .2 G above or below the Terran standard 1 G.

Corrected 4th printing, pdf (downloaded via website purchase Nov 28, 2021)

Short version - there was no reference to the Building and Mobile Structure cost table on page 208 (only found it by doing a text search for "cost")

Long Version:
p131: Step 4: Complete the Record Sheet
As part of the Structure record sheet (on p205) includes the cost of the building, recommend adding a reference to the "BUILDING AND MOBILE STRUCTURE COSTS" on p208
suggested:
Add a reference somewhere in Step 4 about using the cost modifiers and equations on p208 to figure the Structure's cost

Index:
p194: "Buildings, cost" is not listed
suggested:
Add "cost, 208" under "Building design process"

Airborne Targeting, page 148:

The rules state: "If using Low-Altitude Movement, apply the following additional modifiers: if the attack is made from Altitudes 4-6, apply a +1 modifier; if the attack is made from Altitudes 5-9, apply a +2 modifier;"

There is an overlap with the Altitudes and their modifiers.  The modifier for Altitudes 4-6 is correct at +1, but the +2 modifier should be for Altitudes 7-9 not 5-9.


ARTILLERY ORDNANCE table, page 213:

This table needs to be the same as the one on page 152.  The table at the back of the book is wrong.  Under "High-Explosive (standard)" and "Arrow IV" there needs to be printed "20/10 (R1)".

Under Light Hail and Heavy Hail, the extreme temps section references the rules for such as being on p61. The actual Extreme Temperature rules are found a page earlier on p60

Both Hail entries will need to be corrected to point to the correct page.

Pp. 148-149, Airborne Targeting

Self-contradicting rule: This rule lays out rules for firing from beyond the target mapsheet (for instance, from high-altitude atmospheric hexes), then wraps by indicating that attacks can only be made on the same mapsheet in the final paragraph.

Further, the sentence regarding Aerospace Units on Ground Mapsheets compatibility is out of date.

Solution: Replace the entire final paragraph under Airborne Targeting with:

If using the Aerospace Units on Ground Mapsheets rules, while a fighter is moving on ground mapsheets the target hex can be anywhere on the playing area within a weapon's firing arc, except for the hex directly undearneath the airborne unit.

Change the entry to "20 (R0)".

ALTERNATIVELY:

pp. 152, 213, Artillery Ordinance table Copperhead* line, Long Tom, Sniper and Thumper columns.

Change the entries to "15", "10" and "5".

REASON: Homing Arrow IVs should be treated similarly to Copperhead rounds in the same table (see Arrow IV Homing Missiles on p. 166 TO:AUE and Copperhead Artilery on p. 167 TO:AUE for more details).

That is, of course, unless Copperhead rounds deal 15, 10, and 5 damage (depending on round type) to ALL targets in the hex they struck, not just 15/10/5 to the target they struck directly, and 5 points of damage (regardless of round type) to all other targets in the hex, in which case we need a clarification on p. p. 167 TO:AUE instead. However I remember that many years ago it was explicitly ruled in one of the rules questions threads that it is 15/10/5 to the directly struck target and 5 to all other in the same hex, so unless something has changed since then, the correction should be as described above this paragraph.

The Firing on the Move errata doesn't seem to account for units jumping from a lower position to a higher position, and could also cause issues with players "clipping" through a hill to fire. Rephrase to:

For any rules that require a unit to have an Engine Rating, a Support Vehicle's engine rating is determined by multiplying its Cruising or Safe Thrust MP by its tonnage and use that value in place of the Engine Rating (to a maximum of 500)

Corrected Fourth Printing (but I believe this to be uncorrected as of the latest printing based on published errata)

Page 31

Problem: Table entry for Heavy Industrial Zone lists +1 piloting/driving skill modifier.

The rules text for Heavy Industrial Zone does not state anything that interacts with the piloting/driving skill. For instance, it does not say you need to make a PSR or fall (like rubble), to avoid damage (buildings), or that all PSRs while in the hex have a penalty (sand), nor is there any rule for 'mechs to avoid causing damage/explosions as they walk through the hex.

Solution: Either correct the table to be +0 (perhaps entries that don't interact with the PSR at allshould have - instead of +0) or the Heavy Industrial Zone should have rules text explaining the situation in which the +1 applies.

Current printing pg 97, Rapid-Fire Mode: The text of the rapid-fire rule doesn't say anything about the no-mixed-ammo ruling.
