When I think of the Clan KS, I remember folks in the EU had higher shipping rates than folks in the US.  Now, it seems that has been reversed.  Everyone I've seen thus far in the EU has more reasonable shipping charges than the US people.  (I realize EU people have to contend with VAT and other charges as well)

Clan Chatterweb / Re: Giftake sibkos expected to excel?

I think it fits within the Clans' pseudo-religious/cultish love of genetics and Warrior honor. Perhaps gifttake cadets are pushed harder by their trainers or push themselves further due to the implication that they have the blood of a 'successful' Warrior flowing through their veins, and thus can manage it. Motivation can be a powerful thing and a gifttake cadet could be seen as living the true 'legacy' of their ancestor.

Although now I think I might put that into my fiction now since my Diana Pryde was created from a gifttake by Peri.

Will this be Fan Fiction or a Shrapnel submission ?

Thoughts on this? Has it ever been presented this way anywhere else when the topic of giftakes has come up?

In fact, it has. WCSB, page 125, asserts that the giftake is considered to be the warrior's best DNA sample and the one most likely to produce improved warriors. So yes, it appears to me to be a mixture of the Clans' quasi-mystical view of genetics and epigenetics.

It is worth noting that fallout new vegas dropped lots of info on how the NCR was overstretching itself.. how they were overusing and depleting the clean water sources, how the brahmin barons had gotten so much wealth and political power that they could ignore and overrule the local NCR government, how the NCR was rapidly expanding their territory with annexation and "colonization efforts" yet lacked the trained personnel, materials, and military resources to actually intergrate and secure said regions without leaving their core territory vulnerable. Of course, these details are dropped across multiple NPCs in various side quests and you have to read through their full dialog trees, not just the quest specific dialog..

It's a mobile turret, but with advantages in range, accuracy, and heat management and disadvantages in everything.

Can I even manage to get the underdog of Proto's thrown in? More Terran Falcons as they have lots of ASF pilots spare or abit of my stretch lol  :police:

Falcons don't use Protos. The only factions that do are the Horses and the Ravens (the Scorpions used to, until their current writer took them away for nonsensical reasons).

So using the (lovely and ever expanding) "current-ish" mechs and their production lines (as shown above), throw in the Totem Mechs, Ion Sparrow, Hierofalcon, Jade Hawk, Jupiter, Grand Summoner and Turkina, would this be an approximate write up of what "could be" in future Jade Falcon Toumans ? As in Star compositions Supernovas, etc

Also due to the times and changing attitudes, more mixed forces too (Infantry/Tank/ASF/VTOL), what could they be ?

That raises another question in the rebuilding phase, Elementals, the ONLY source of Hargel in the Inner Sphere is the Foxes, quiaff ? And they get a little from the Scrops too ?

Can I even manage to get the underdog of Proto's thrown in? More Terran Falcons as they have lots of ASF pilots spare or abit of my stretch lol  :police:

Can't remember if it's been asked before, but is there any chance we could get the Saracen turret added to the Scrapyard, please?

(Original, not the Mk II)

Fan Designs and Rules / Heavy Duty v. Armored Gyro
« Last post by Hazard Pay on Today at 10:18:35 »
As the title says, which do you think is better? Armored Gyros add 2t for a standard gyro, 1t for Compact (on top of the +50% weight of the Compact Gyro) and 3t for XL Gyros, which counters the weight loss the XLG grants.

Conversely the HD Gyro doubles weight for about the same effect, with the real benefit coming from if you’re running something with a 1t Gyro like an Urbanmech become a 2t.

I read the rules and they seem to operate roughly identical to one another.
