2018 Battletech World Wide Event: NIGHTCRAWLERS 3d Terrain
« on: 21 September 2018, 12:26:07 »
The group I run uses 1.75in hexed terrain exclusively. For my demo event I decided I wanted to have the maps printed in a larger hex size and on vinyl for reuseability. A friend in our group scaled the maps up and stitched them together. Another friend who has a sign shop printed it out for me short notice. In the week before my event I used some of my existing buildings and trees but also built a ton of tree templates. I also built a full set of hills to match the match. It all came together pretty good and we had a great game.

It was a good time. I wish I would have not procrastinated and built some better buildings. I also had an idea to represent the sub levels that did not get finished.

Sweet!  I don't think the buildings look that bad, but I would have been interested to see your solution for the sub-levels...

I was going to use some thin sign and outline the -1 and -2 depths with rocks. Then I was going to use the airbrush to shade it so there would be a transition and shadowing as the depth got deeper. I just wanted something to make it not look so flat without having to do a full foam board with actual depth.

Comes from Tonka Tinys, down side is they are random but they sort of take the place of MicroMachines.

Not all of them. Some of them are micromachines I had before I got the others from you.
