Control Roll and a strafe
« on: 20 November 2023, 19:43:06 »
Good evening,

If I fail a control roll, does the aerospace fighter lose altitude?

A strafing attack is only one hex wide and five hexes long correct?

Thank you

Does a "bomb" critical require a control roll?

TW page 239 seems to indicate "no" (at least not in addition to any control rolls caused by the hit that caused the critical).

I think I understand, the bomb critical hit will require a control roll at the space/atmosphere interface per page 79

Thank you

Any situation where failing a Control Roll sends you out of control in atmosphere causes you to lose Altitude. Air combat is NOT for the faint of heart.

Note that there are times when failing a Control Roll does NOT send you out of control, such as when attempting a Special Maneuver. Because failure doesn't send you OOC, there is no Altitude loss.

Correct.

No. Only those crits that explicitly mention a Control Roll in their descriptions force a roll
