Again, I love all of the new designs...
I do wish the Cyclops head was a bit higher, but I'm okay with this version too. It has its head tucked low to avoid overhead fire...  ^-^
I'm loving the Spider! I always felt the spider was way too skinny anyway. This version looks like a propper mech now and not (naked) C3-PO in a Spiderman costume.... the round legs are a great departure from the usual angled plate look of the current aesthetic to give it a sleek speedy feel. This Spider looks almost anime inspired but still Btech through and through! I'll take 4!!
The Thug still looks like an unhappy gorilla, what are you gonna do?? The big lugg!!  ;D
And the Dragon is a great improvement  on a mediocre original design. It's still not a superstar but its certainly more appealing now than the old skinny-legged muffin top version...  :D
Still hitting them out of the park for me!!
Vive la Battletech!!!!

The improved cockpit of the Cyclops is just begging for a smiley face.

That's a good way to loose an eye.

Just think of the story line! Merc company involved in one of greatest battles the IS has ever seen, takes 10 years to get home because of a faulty jumpship drive, later to be found out to be sabotaged by WoB (or DS/SF), has to rescue home planet from  ... Maybe this belongs in a Nebula Cali thread.

I generally love all the new designs but I do wish the Dragon's feet were a bit larger. That's a minor complaint I have with a few of the redesigns, notably the King Crab.

Nah, just do it as a fan-made campaign . . . there were mercs at Tikonov during the 4SW, right?  Maybe a planet's nobles rent themselves & their guards out to make the c-bills their planet needs to buy stuff to survive.  They get a bad misjump which put them . . .

That sounds basically like the Living Legends adventure, actually. Not nearly as weird as Nebula California.

We just need some call signs like: Athena, Poseidon, Circe, Telemachus ...

Now I'm thinking Larson's BSG was simply space-ifying the Odyssey!

Yes, Kevin Sorbo as Odysseus in: Odyssey 3020.  (production twist, all mech scale battle scenes will be BT-rolled out before being produced for 'accuracy's sake').

squiggly line transition ... I'd like to see the 3d renders of the current lance to see how they'll look.  Still like my metal Thug, iirc it was only one or two pieces to glue -- so an A in my book!

Cyclops line art isn't my fav, but I've never really wanted to use the Cyclops all that often, so I can live with it.  The Thug/Dragon/Spider look fantastic IMO.

For some reason I am recalling that the cowl on the cyclops was not original and was added on by various pilots with the idea that it would add protection to the head.

I think that was the case in the original TRO3025 fluff, but I don't think we have ever gotten art depicting a "factory" Cyclops with no cowl.

At this stage, it's pretty much standard.

Holy hell... beautiful....

I just looked thru the line art, map creations, and all the previews of the gear....my god man some of that stuff is bloody amazing. So wish I had more money because I'd snatch up some of that stuff in a heartbeat, even outside my preferred Clans or factions.

Line art... amazing.
3D Models... amazing.
Map breakdowns: beautifully done (and now I need to organize an entire Tukyiaad campaign and find some ComGuard players!)

Just damn man.....

Maybe a sign of good things. Miniature market has some of the Clan Invasion box sets in their store for preorder (out of stock)

It's a sign of absolutely nothing except Miniature Market's inability to actually put items in the background of their store until they actually know the price and release date. I'd treat it as being about as reliable as an Amazon listing - not at all.

Yes?  That's the whole point of the Kickstarter, to get new updated miniatures out to the gamers.  They're not going through the expense of making the Inner Sphere 'mech packs for them to just be available via the Kickstarter.

Only reason i had this reaction was that it difficult to obtain stuff i wanted to get. Given the availability at the moment for stuff. I was surprised.

Aren't the legendary pilots the only minis that aren't going to be sold in stores?
Most of the kickstarter exclusives are various other pieces of swag.

Legendary Mechwarriors are sure to be only KS&Con-Exclusives and Urbanmech fate is, to me at least, uncertain.

The Legendary are a exclusive reward, I remember that.

The Urbies became a reward as well but I don't remember them being exclusive.... Oh god, lances of Urbies!

I feel like the Urbie is too much of a meme and not enough of a viable game piece to sell well in retail.

Don't get me wrong, I'd buy the hell out of them (the only reason I don't have more than two urbanmech minis in my pledge was so that I could get the urbanmech plush). But I think most casually oriented players aren't invested enough in the legend of the Urbie to make it a good choice for store shelves.

I've got a feeling that the Legendary Mechs will work their way into regular sales...it would be crazy to go to the length of creating the 3D sculpts, printing the 3D master, having that master transferred into a metal mold for plastic injection...to only sell a handful of them...the molds will be good for 10's of thousands of miniatures...

The intention is to only sell the Legendary Mechwarrior set at cons and the CGL online store and similar events, but they won't be available at retail. So there'll be more produced than just whatever is sold as part of the Kickstarter

Yeah, the retail availability of the regular lances and stars had been common knowledge since before the Kickstarter campaign ended.

Presumably, yeah.  But that option won't be available after the Kickstarter, so there won't be an option to restock.

That's fair, as long as they are obtainable for those who want them and CGL has a realistic avenue to recoup the outlay of having them made, it makes sense. The CGL online store will suffice for those who want them, didn't partake in the Kickstarter and the financial cost and time commitment of travelling to a con from a part of the world where CGL don't attend cons makes it too costly and too time intensive to do so.
