Title: Xanthos XNT-70 mini
Post by: MoneyLovinOgre4Hire on 22 March 2018, 18:02:02
I just got it today and it looks nice, but I'm wondering if it's mislabled?  It seems to match the stats for the XNT-60.

It's labeled as the XNT-30 in IWM's online catalog: 20-482 (http://ironwindmetals.com/store/product_info.php?products_id=6248)

That's the old Xanthos mini.  I'm talking about the new one that was just released and isn't in the IWM online store yet.

Both the 60 and the 70 are.  The appearance of the mini seems to match the stats of the 60 (particularly the center torso LRM rack and mounting 6 secondary guns rather than 4) than the 70, so I thought I'd ask.

Maybe it's like some of the other minis that come with extra parts to make other variants?

I mean if the difference between the two is 2 secondary guns and a LRM rack, just don't glue them on  :D
(But i've not seen pictures of this mini, so i'm talking straight outta my arse)

The LRM rack is part of the body, not a separate piece.

And I like to glue as many pieces onto my minis as possible, because I like mechs with more guns. >:D

Are you the guy I won a Lot of minis from off eBay several years back then?  Among them was a Reseen Stinger, with SIX arms!   :o

Yeah, it looks like a -60 to me, with no apparent options to make it a -70.

Yeah it is the -60, looks like we missed the few items to adjust from the source we were using. In the end it is still a great looking Xanthos.

It looks a little like the bugs from Starship Troopers. I will try to get a picture later unless someone beats me to it.

For those building her, I would attach the chin guns before the front legs...

And yes, I know that makes sense to most if not all. :)

Pretty much like the dark age mini. It can also function as the 70 model with some mild file work

Hmm, i need get bigger base then.  I recently got one of those XNT-70s myself but I've not assembled it.  Is that hex bigger than standard one, even if you flip it upside own?

Looks like one of IWM's Large Hexbases.

That is I think a 40MM or 42.  You could go for a taller stance and it may fit.

That it is.  I'm not complaining, as I actually prefer the -60 over the -70.  You guys did a great job with the sculpt.  And if you ever come out with a -70, I'll buy that one, too.

I may have to buy one just to see if I can swap the legs back to the older model and replace the dinky ones it comes with.
