Does it have an idler or tensioner?  Buddy of mine just lost one of those on his 5.3 GMC
I think so.  But the way the front of the engine is crammed against a wheel well i cant see much.

Started looking around for my first Porsche.  Right now the search is going through the standard Autotrader, Craigslist, Excellence, Pelican Parts, PCA, and a couple of registry type sites.  Any other specialty type car sites out there i might have some look perusing?

Sign me up!  Provided you don't want any money for it...  :-\

I would drive out there to pick it up, though.

It's that gold champagne color with brown interior.

This was a new one that kinda stumped me.

2001 Bonneville SSEi, going along just fine.  Then, it decides it has no doors.  None of the window, lock, memory seat, or side mirror controls function.  The "door open" chime does not go off if the door is open and key in the ignition.  No open door warnings on the information center.

First thought is simple, just a blown fuse.  But, each door has its own separate control module and fuses, and none of them are burnt out.  What does the peanut gallery think?

Did you check to make sure the doors were still there?   :D

I'll vote along with MM on this one.  Loose connector somewhere.

Same here, last time I ran into a problem like that I pulled my hair out then I checked the connections.  Afterward I felt stupid.

According to the shop, the entire driver control module blew out.  All said and done, a $1200 repair.  Since I bought a warranty, it will cost me $50.  :D

Yep.  Those aftermarket warranties are not a horrible thing to buy.  They are expensive at initial buy, but worth it.  I also got the catalytic converter replaced at no cost.  So the warranty has basically already paid for itself.  And son the transmission will fail, and the warranty will cover that as well.  All for a $50 deductible.

Yeah I had a friend that had a Pontiac GTP with an aftermarket warranty - he probably got two transmissions out of it

Awwwwwww, fudge...   Wish I had seen this earlier, I would have had a better answer for you.

First off....   this is a Yugoslavian vehicle, not Czech.

You might need to get the English to Serbian dictionary, I think that might have been the problem.  Or as Clarke Marek said on the other thread, Slovenian might be correct as well.

sorry no help here either, mostly because as a mechanic i pull it apart till i find the busted part, replace said part, then put it back together again.

It's about 3 times the size of a Thing (8 feet wide  :D).

It appears to be an electrical issue, so translating the wiring schematic is most beneficial to me. O0

After 2.5 years of driving 'The Beast' with its V8, driving 'Blondie' with its 3.6 liter Pentastar V6 is a bit... underwhelming.
Even if it is "283 horsepower"...
I wish we could get modernized versions of THIS as an option...

Maybe you guys can help.

A friend of mine has a Lotus Elise, and i figured since he has a house now, and a birthday rapidly approaching, a shop manual for the Elise would be worth tracking down.  I can't find anything other than free PDF's or those same PDF's for sale on Ebay.  Are there any shop manuals for the Elise in book form out there to be had?
