In a nutshell in terms of the cockpit and metallics
Cockpits: 2 thinned coats of Vallejo game black, 2 or 3 thinned coats of Turbo Dork Redrum
Metallic:
Army Painter Speed Paint Polished Silver

Very cool!  How are you liking the metallic speed paint?  I have a project that I was thinking about using metallic paint and was considering trying those.
