(Answered) Floating crits and partial cover
« on: 09 July 2011, 02:20:03 »
Prior to the boards being reset, there was a ruling that a floating critical that rolled a leg location on a target behind partial cover would not be lost and would need to be re-rolled until it hit a valid location, as the critical result should trump the partial cover.

Can this be reconfirmed and added to the errata for TacOps?

Example output from a MegaMek game:

Weapons fire for Legacy LGC-02 (Bot1)
    LRM 20 at Atlas AS7-D (Tathas); needs 7, rolls 5 : misses.

Medium Pulse Laser at Atlas AS7-D (Tathas); needs 4, rolls 8 :         Atlas AS7-D suffers no damage. (LL (critical) behind cover)

Yes, you are correct.

Go ahead and post it in the errata thread.
