The Akichi Erg {empty quarter} is a prominent locale of the Eastern Desert province found between the south-western coast of the Sangosho Gulf {coral} and the Kanawha River {white rock} in a deep depression left by the movement of glaciers millennia ago. It sits on a platform of sedimentary rock that hosts ancient giant hydrocarbon and artesian water deposits that is now covered by billions of tons of sand blown from the south and west. The erg is about one thousand kilometers long and five hundred kilometers wide. The surface elevation varies from eight hundred meters above sea level in the southwest to below sea level in the northeast. The terrain is covered in wind swept sand sheets and sand dunes with heights up to two hundred and fifty meters above ground interspersed with gravel and gypsum plains. The sand is generally a reddish orange color due to the presence of feldspar. Closer to the gulf coast on the desert's eastern edge are brackish salt flats. There are several meteor impact craters filled with iron and glass deposits buried by the sands. The region is classified as hyper arid with less than fifty millimeters of annual rainfall. Daytime temperatures regularly exceed sixty degrees celsius and rarely go below forty degrees celsius at night. Dry windstorms - haboob and sirocco that carry great quantities of sand and dust blow nearly constantly across the desert at speeds up to one hundred and forty kilometers per hour which in turn drops the humidity to below five percent. Fauna includes birds, arachnids, insects, lizards, snakes, and rodents with sparse waxy coated desert shrubs being the only flora. It is one of the driest places on Nejiro and virtually uninhabited. The exception being the railway lines, built on bridges anchored into the sedimentary rock underneath the sand that cross the desert from Leyte, Yousai, and Bridges. There are no roadways. The Akichi Erg makes up a significant percentage of the Akichi Chiku {empty quarter district} which continues west through the Shirudo no taka-sa {shield heights} {composed of arid rocky hills that reach heights of more than one thousand meters formed from granite and crystalline igneous rock with deposits of precious and industrial metals and minerals (gold, copper, tin, silver, zinc, lead, iron, tungsten, mineral sands, phosphates) but mining is not pursued in the Chiku at this time due to the shortage of water and infrastructure and the resources are currently un-needed}. The Akichi Chiku continues almost to the Yoshino-gawa and is classified as an Environmental Seat in the Nejiro Commons House of Parliament. Its MP is Jeddah Zahid.

The Kuroi Sabaku {black desert} features picturesque volcanic mountains that appear blanketed with black char, with hot springs and salt lakes creating dreamlike natural spas. Cloud Peak the eminent attraction of Stargazer Wilderness Park (property of the Badawi Group {desert dweller} - the umbrella corporation under which the Malik and Rizvi Koichizoku partnership conducts business together), is among the most popular ascents in the region with big wall climbs on both the east and southeast faces and the Kiri no tsuki {misty moon} and Kodoku {solitude} trails provide challenging hikes that yield one breathtaking view after another. The Kuroi Sabaku covers an area over forty thousand square kilometers of rocky basaltic desert south of the Akichi Chiku and north of the Sharqiun Kiso Yama foothills formed by large lava flows into a massif of volcanic hills in the Eastern Desert province. The topography of depressions, rifts, and ridges with scattered arable patches is characterized by rocky soil and scarce vegetation, characteristicly acacia shrubland with patches of juniper at higher altitudes. The area comprises ancient volcanic fields formed by tectonic activity millennia ago. It contains the remains of more than eight hundred extinct and dormant volcanic cinder cones that reach an average altitude of eleven hundred meters above seal level. The plains are relatively low plateaus roughly six hundred meters above sea level that consist of the rocky remains of lava flows or large patches of arable land derived from decomposed basaltic and volcanic rock. The grassy arable oases fauna includes caracal, asian lion, mongoose, weasel, grey wolf, xolotl, idaina kemono {mighty beast}, honey badger, sandcat, gazelle, deer, wild goat, ibex, hyrax, jerboa, hedgehogs, oryx, striped hyena, golden jackal, ibis, kestrel, great bustard, golden and imperial eagles. Mount el-Leja {the refuge} is an extinct stratovolvano fourteen hundred meters high surrounded by an arable plateau that has been occupied since shortly after the Terran Alliance Navy (2217) populated the planet. The relatively frequent rainfall and an abundance of water springs allow the area to have stable grain, juniper, vineyard, and orchard (citrus, olives, nuts) cultivation, as well as pastures for sheep and goats. The el-Leja community produces one of the more sought after wines in the the distant Draconis Combine (and Nejiro), especially the Me Entoli tou Vakchou label. The vernacular architecture uses basalt exclusively in a fusion of ancient Greek and Roman styles.

“I am not challenging you on this, but would it not be better if the main security for moving Nakazawa be provided by the Militias?”
“Why are you siding with Tekeda?”
“I am not. I said that the main security should be Nejiro Militias. The optics alone make this why. If the GSF is the only or main security, it plays into the hands of our many foes. It looks as if you are pulling all the strings and forcing the outcome that you want. What I am offering is that we send the GSF as a backup. They will be close but not at the security that is seen. We should offer to have some of the other Ichizoku provide units for this security teams plus have the Nijero Militia have forces as part of this force. This would be a joint Nejiro mission.”
“OK I see what you are doing. I hope it works. If that Rokudenashi gets away I will be most unhappy.”
“I understand the risk and it is something we have to do.”

To all GSF commanders we have a change of plan, and you will be providing extra security for the convoy, the main security force will be provided by Nejiro and Koichizoku militias.

“Commanders due to the changes needed for the escort you will have your units roll out after the Nijero and Ichizoku militias do. You will give them a thirty-minuet head start. Then each of your units will move out one at a time so no one will see your group as one unit. You will move out to cover the flanks and rear. If the convoy runs into trouble they will first see if they can make the new trial site, if not they will fall back towards you. The site has fixed weapons that cover the area out to 630 meters. It also has revetments for both vehicles and ‘Mech so it can be defended.” Jack will inform the GSF units. “You will remain out of sight unless needed. AM I CLEAR ON THIS!.” Before ending the transmission. “I also do not need to inform you of how disappointed my wife will be if something happens to Nakazawa during this transit, correct?”

so my plan just hit the trash lol, my units are fairly fast so can respond if the convoy is attacked. my command vehicle will most likely head up the road for the extra movement, only one DCM C3 slot is spoken for so far so the other slots are still opened.

Kiah will respond to Jack's message "Understood, please provide the frequency the convoy will be operating on and the name of the person who will be in charge as well as which vehicle Nakazawa will be in."

now that we have been designated as a response team, i would suggest we search for and engage any "hidden" units that maybe setting up as ambushers. as well as looking for and identifying any units heading toward the convoy and warning them of such.

The Tora Choyaku Kyokoku {tiger leaping canyons} on the Tora Hanto {tiger peninsula} in the Eastern Desert province has formed over eons with the changing course of the Chikugo-gawa {builder river}, the Laohu-he {tiger river} and the movement of glaciers. The Chikugo-gawa originates in Morning Glory Lake in the Sharqiun Kiso Yama {eastern foundation backbone mountains} then travels north into the Tora Hanto and its varying course majorly shaped the canyons and other geographical features of the area, the river currently ends near Tora Point and outlets into the Sulu Sea {dynamic flowing water}. The Laohu-he source is the Genso Mizumi {illusion lake} {formed from runoff from the Alpenwylde glaciers} between the Kiso Mountains {foundation backbone} and the Sharqiun Kiso Yama from which it travels east then north into the Tora Hanto to help form the topography of the Tora Choyaku Kyokoku. The Tora Choyaku Kyokoku on Tora Hanto has outstanding views and prominent geological and paleoentological features. There are exciting multicolored rock formations and a diverse landscape of hills, canyons, and washes. Many plants not only survive but thrive and the plant genera includes species from the agave family, palm family, cactus family, legume family and numerous others. Creosote bush and bur sage dominate valley floors along with indigo bush and mormon tea. Wildflowers include desert sand verbena, desert sunflower, and evening primroses. Ascending the valleys you may find trees and shrubs such as velvet mesquite, palo verde, desert ironwood, desert willow, fairy duster, ocotillo, whitehorn acacia, jojoba, and boojum tree. Multicolored rock walls and mesas are prevalent with over two dozen canyons and caverns. Weather extremes and poisonous snakes are common hazards to this area as well as flash floods and a diverse variety of desert adapted wildlife - for example horned viper, gila monster, scorpions, golden wolf, jackal, sabaku puma {desert}, fire ants, dacho {ostrich}, dingo, akakangaru {red kangaroo}, xolotl. And it is here among the canyons that the most noted species of the Eastern Desert province resides, the amoy tiger. These obligate carnivores, easily recognizable from their distinctive striped coats, measure up to two meters in length and weigh as much as two hundred kilograms. It prefers hunting large ungulates (ibex, idaina kemono, criollo, javelina, pronghorn) but frequently kills wild boar, deer, macaques, porcupine, hare, serow, and peafowl. Man eating tiger attacks have increased with human encroachment into their territory.

The Teikoku no sakyu koya {imperial sand dunes wilderness} is a large sand dune field or erg located in the southern portion of Tora Hanto {tiger peninsula} between the southern banks of the Chikugo-gawa {builder river}, west of the edge of the Tora Choyaku Kyokoku {tiger leaping canyons} fields (which continue into the sea), and northeast of the Sharqiun Kiso Yama {eastern foundation backbone mountains} foothills and the city of Silverbridge. It has a hot desert climate and may reach over fifty degrees celsius during the day. There is sparse vegetation - mostly desert acacia shrubland, yucca palm, and juniper - and a great many insects and arachnids especially beetles, wasps, and bees. There is coyote, roadrunners, burrowing owls, banded lizards, tora rattlesnake, and fringe-toed lizard among the local wildlife. The dune field is approximately seventy five kilometers long by ten kilometers wide and extends along a line that correlates to the prevailing northerly and westerly wind currents. The area is designated as a National Natural Landmark by the Ministry of National Parks and Reserves. Most of the area is off limits and protected as Crown Reserves but twenty thousand acres north of Silverbridge at the edge of the dunes have been set aside for recreational off-road vehicle traffic and camping. Book early as the park only allows ten thousand permits per season.

Achizu Kokuritsu Koen {arches national park} has seventy thousand acres on the Tora Hanto {tiger peninsula} north of the Tora Choyaku Kyokoku {tiger leaping canyons}. It receives more than one million visitors a year to see the natural red rock sandstone arches and jagged pinnacles of the desert landscape. The park lies on an underground evaporite layer or salt bed, which is the main cause of the formation of the arches, formed more than three hundred million years ago when a sea flowed into the region and eventually evaporated. It is located in Mufaraga Hawd {paradox basin} on the Aquarius Plateau, part of the Bluebell Knoll Range. The park constitutes the highest density of natural arches on Nejiro. Many tour the park from the air in airships or hot air balloons high above fields of wildflowers and cacti. Hikers, climbers, rafters, and campers enjoy their beauty from below and a more intimate view of the arches, spires, balanced rocks, sandstone fins, natural bridges, windows and other eroded monoliths in the area. The visitors center includes an astronomy tower and a natural history museum chronicling and exploring the geological and wildlife history of the park.

the Fukapop is just standard command detonated mines getting triggered by the pilot firing them. The bad part is that any others that were not commanded to do so will at that time.

Mine ammo for LRMs is double normal cost. do not forget shipping  has to be added as well
What specific name should I be looking for in Techmanual for these?  Could you give me a specific price?  I don't plan to use them on a regular basis; I just want a few tons as a deterrent.

Does Thunder command detonated LRM ammo (Fukapop edition) cost 60,000 per ton?  This is the last thing I'm waiting on to put in my offworld order.  (Yes, I know that there will be mark-ups.  I just need the base cost.)
Any idea of what we need to spend to get a bulk discount?

Bajos {charm, to persuade, to tempt} or Baja (colloquially) is the first city the Sugai Dai Ichizoku planned and the second they built. The city is about 330 sq. km, at an elevation of seven meters above sea level laid out as a star heptagon, it is approximately twenty four kilometers from the sea (Pearl Bay). Baja is the epitome of laid back, calm, easygoing, and serene. The people are languid, relaxed and absolutely in no hurry. The city population is steady at about seventy eight thousand but may jump to over a hundred thousand from tourists and visitors seasonally and during festivals. Baja is a magical, exuberant, colorful journey at any time of year, our art galleries and diverse visual arts span ancient traditional art to the most contemporary making it one of the largest and most important art markets on Nejiro. Bajos has an elected City Council from ten wards that appoints a city manager {Arjun Batra} for executive administrative duties and appoints a mayor {Jozef Han} as a spokesperson and for ceremonial duties. The city also has the Bajos Advisory Council a Trustee Board appointed by the Sugai Dai Ichizoku Hierarchy and the Baja Guildhall Syndic. The Bajos Constubulary are led by Chief Constable Amila Carnavon in all community police matters. Emergency services are provided by the Bajos Fire Rescue Service led by Chief Beni Sidjilmasa. The Baja Magistrate Court is led by the Honorable Judge Koen Koa, JD. The NPO Tower is led by Inspector Teofana Soldan who oversees the usual complement of Constables, a K9 unit, a resident unit of CIB agents, a strategic response unit, and a NPO Sea Patrol marine services river and canal patrol and pursuit unit. The Nejiro Fire brigade has assigned a Heavy Rescue and Towing unit with a search and rescue attachment to the area led by Fire Captain Almar Hafldason. The Baja Chronicle - 'the first the only' - is an independent daily broadsheet newspaper with an accompanying digital site and a wide distribution throughout the Eastern Desert province. It has been in business since the City Charter was officially drawn up and covered breaking ground for the city's construction. The Bajos Reporter is a daily digital newspaper reporting exclusively on Baja and its metro area. The city has a mediterranean type climate featuring very hot dry sumers with average temperatures of 35 degrees celsius and mild winters with light rainfall. Baja was chartered (2798) to take advantage of the nearby resources of limestone, chalk, silica, feldspar, quartz, pyrite, marble, clay, and salt while staying close to both the Pearl Bay coastal area and its beautiful soft white sand beaches and to the Waikato River {flowing water} for access to the canals and the sea. The mineral deposits originate in the local sandstone formations which frequently occur as spectacular cliffs, cuestas, domes, and bluffs rising from the desert floor. The wide range of colors exhibited by the sandstone reflect a long history of alteration by groundwater and other subsurface fluids over the eons. The different colors are caused by the presence of hematite, goethite, and limonite filling the pore spaces within the quartz sand comprising the sandstone. The iron in these strata originally arrived via the erosion of iron bearing silicate minerals. The precipitation of iron oxide also formed laminae, corrugated layers, and pipes of ironstone within the sandstone. Being harder and more resistant to erosion than the surrounding sandstone the ironstone weathered out as ledges, walls, fins, flags, towers and other minor features which stick out and above the local landscape in unusual shapes layered in colors and fossils, all of which attracts tourists, hikers, and photographers from across the globe and stellar system. The Dako Unga {serpentine canal} (built as artificial tributaries of the Waikato {flowing water} and Kanawha Rivers {white rock}) makes its way through much of the Eastern Desert province with significant stops in Baja by the Nuska Eki {deity of fire and light railway station}, in Hilo by the Menrva Eki, by the Haken Eki {hegemony railway station} in Camp Haken, and by the Wahaten Eki {oasis railway station} in Madina. Baja has both a continental railway station Nuska Eki and a regional aeroport Thea Aerofield {wide shining goddess of sight and brilliance}. The city roadways are all wide avenues or boulevards and the residential streets all have meridians with productive trees (olives, apricots, almonds, walnuts), local greenery and desert flowers, Baja allows only electric vehicles inside the city limits and there is a road station and a service plaza outside the city limits with warehouses, logistic and transport services and an inland port facility. The city maglev subway is connected to a system of stops that serves the 'metro' area, the beaches, and local resorts. Hogo Bei {protective bay} south and east of Baja and part of the metro area has three desalination plants that along with salt produce minerals, metals, and micro-proteins used in a variety of industrial compounds and processes. There is a dedicated high speed freight rail tunnel to Hilo that may also carry a few passenger coaches. Houses and buildings generally generate their own power via built in solar cells and/or vertical wind turbines, and additional power to industrial processes in the area is provided via solar furnaces, solar farms, and wind farms. The major percentage of Baja's economy comes from its glass and ceramic factories (industrial, commercial, artisan) but mining, agriculture, textiles, and tourism also contribute. The city industry is well known and respected for its production of ceramic alloys and compounds as well as its inks, dyes, and paints. But Baja is renowned for their ceramic tiles and glass. Baja's most prominent business aside from their regular concerns is Anesidora {sender of gifts} that creates astounding lab grown hexagonal diamonds in shades of chocolat, blush, azu, vert, and cereza; Baja Gardens is a cooperative of many urban farmers (from rooftop apiaries and gardens to vertical farms and pastures) that produces thousands of kilos of fresh food annually that ensures city food security (and hundreds of kilos of fresh food for export); Araneae creates robust security algorithms using unique spider web, lace, and knitting patterns expressed mathematically; Coin-assure is a digital bank created as a secure payment processor that expanded into donations, recurring donations and subscriptions, go-funds, crowdfunding, exclusive content, and standard consumer and commercial banking; Vanaja {forest born of the blue lotus} manufactures photovoltaic technology, solar energy storage, solar tiles for residential, commercial, and industrial roofs, space-worthy solar cell construction, and solar heating and cooling systems; Flare designs and manufactures electric passenger vehicles for street and off-road; Chatterbox a hyper secure and super encrypted chat program; Sandia Laboratories was founded to research complex systems in the physical, biological, economic, and political sciences and has expanded into a wide variety of research including computational biology, millenium mathematics, materials science, pyschology, cognitive science, mechatronics, and micro-electrical systems and sponsors many internships and graduate student studies; Gotham Enterprises which creates and manufactures inexpensive and open patented medicines, farm equipment, repairable small power generation, renewable power generation, machine parts and components, tools, all terrain vehicles, water treatment, bolstered and protected crops balanced to not overwrite their environment, street worthy and off-road vehicle kits of antique, vintage, and classic auto designs. Gotham Enterprises is a long standing company with an excellent reputation due to the fact that they make things that are tough and hardy and designed to last, they make things that are designed to survive with minimal and readily available parts and input, that they deal fairly, and that they value and offer sustainability the breadth of their coverage, their reputation for reliability stands them in good stead in the community. Baja evolved early in its existence as an art enclave due to the popularity of the arts within the Sugai whose Hierarchy, as well as that of Fukuda, were and still are extravagant patrons of the arts. An artist colony and an art commune soon developed as the city did. There are now many famous and infamous artists in residence at the Baja Arts Colony - potters, glassblowers, lace makers, and also wood workers, metal workers, dancers, photographers, and painters. Some of the best quality artist tools are crafted and manufactured in Baja from brushes to camera lenses. Baja's most prominent artistic enterprises are Baiyu {white jade} from which artisans and crafters produce exquisite translucent white jade bone china tableware. And Kutahya Balian from which artisans craft hand painted decorative ceramic and glass tiles in delft, iznik, azulejo, Islamic, talavera, zellij, ming porcelain, kosiv, mosaic, lusterware, and the majolica styles; they also produce hand painted pottery and fine stoneware, murals and mosaics, decorated swimming pool and fountain tile liners, and custom tile designs. The Baja University of Fine Arts (Drawing and Painting, Drawing and Sculpture, History, Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage and Design, Traditional Crafts, Photography, Music, Dance, Calligraphy, Performance Art, Language and Literature, Business Design, Fashion Design, Marketing Communications, Digital Media, Applied Science and Math, Advanced Manufacturing) is one of the best independent public schools on Nejiro and stands as a pillar of creativity and innovation. The school is acclaimed for its comprehensive curriculum and distinguished faculty attracting artists from around the globe and across the stellar system. From traditional techniques to contemporary explorations students undergo holistic artistic development and get excellent career opportunities after graduation. The city is located almost directly across Pearl Bay from Sugai Castle on the Sugoi Peninsula {wow, awesome, amazing} and was architecturally designed to have a beautiful presentation, to provide a spectacular panoramic view of the city from Sugai Castle on Taebaksan {great white mountain} (2744 masl tall), a dormant stratovolcano in the Baekdu-daegan {backbone mountain range} of the Sugoi Peninsula. The overall architectural style of Baja - what has developed 'locally' into the Baja style - is a mix of byzantine, sukiya-zukuri, baroque, spanish mission, and mediterranean revival. Traditional urban houses and buildings are constructed with shared walls to minimize exposure to high exterior temperatures (summer highs may reach 43 degrees celsius) and solid exterior walls are painted with lime to minimize the heating effects of the sun. The roofs frequently are terraces or tiled in the roman imbrex and tegula style. One of the most characteristic elements are the interior patios, takhtabush {a covered outdoor sitting area opening into a rear garden court designed to capture cross drafts in aid of night flushing}, and garden courtyards, even on industrial and civic buildings. Other elements include wrought iron gratings, azulejo tiles, and balconies, there are also many malqaf {wind catcher towers}. Most of the brick and stone buildings are either whitewashed, clad in white marble, or covered in tile mosaics and frescoes of numerous styles from portraiture to abstracts. Stained glass is also a popular medium used for windows, doors, street lanterns, public sculptures, and other decor with styles including bohemian, art deco, art noveau, Islamic floral and geometric patterns, calligraphy, japanese aesthetics, luminist landscapes, mingei {japanese folk arts and crafts}, medieval, romantic, and folk. Baja also has a profusion of gardens and parks both for the artistic view of nature as well as the cooling and calming effect of nature on a city. There is a strict limit placed to keep buildings at no more than thirty stories. Like other chartered cities Baja has an extensive 'underground' which was built first like sub-basements and then the city itself built over top it - there are utilidors, cisterns (that are also used in heating and cooling the city's buildings), yakchal {underground refrigeration structures and ice boxes}, qanats {underground irrigation system}, shabestan {public and private night rooms with lounge areas and fountain pools for night flushing and evaporative cooling}, storage areas, bunkers, disaster shelters, walipini greenhouses and solariums, and a maglev subway system carrying both freight and passengers. But there are also extensive pedestrian walkays and bicycle paths that reach every destination of the city, sizable public playing fields and parks, a profusion of roman style baths and sento, several olympic sized indoor public pools and water parks, a great many lounge and siesta areas, and numerous cafes and pubs all used extensively especially during the heat of the day. Siesta is a firm tradition in the Eastern Desert, begun during the construction of Baja, observed during the midday hours between two and five, most people enjoy a long break from the hottest part of the day and pursue a long unhurried relaxing meal, perhaps a short nap or some leisure time. Siesta Lounges are an original Baja concept that have become a popular addition to the juice bar and coffee house crowds of the Eastern Desert and much of northern Tairiku, with comfy recliners, chaise and other loungers and ottomans suitable for naps that serve aquafresca, fresh fruit, tacos, churros, conchas {sweet bread}, horchata {rice and nut milk beverage}, pita, boba {bubble tea}, paletas {fruit ice pops}, and sopaipillas {stuffed fry bread}. The Baja metro area is sparse and spreads south and eastward into the Woy Woy Peninsula {much water, big lagoon}, there are two small seaports - the farthest one on the southern coast of the Woy Woy Peninsula where the Waikato River empties into the Sulu Sea {dynamic flowing water}, and the other in Hogo Bei, there are a few suburban villages, several guard-gated communities and resorts closer to the coast, almost a dozen fishing villages {like Mouse-hole a small village on the banks of the Waikato River east of Baja, a charming place of narrow streets and granite cottages huddled around a bend in the river that provides a natural working harbor for fishing boats and barges}, over a score of small villages that primarily work mines and quarries or farm, and one permanent combined paleontology, geology, and astronomy base field camp affiliated with Raissonne Daigaku - Hilo {reason university}, the Nejiro Natural History Museum and Planetarium - Yousai, Yabai Technology Institute - Hilo, Southeastern University - Hilo, Rose Polytechnic Institute - Hilo, STEM Polytechnic - Leyte, Quezon Institute of Science - Quezon, Imperial College Yousai, the SanGun Geoscience Society - Moro, and the Nejiro Guild Halls that all sponsor scientific field studies and expeditions throughout the Eastern Desert province.

“Prisoner security to GSF we are under attack and moving towards you. We have a lance of Battlemechs plus an oversized platoon of armor moving on us. They had IED’s on the road and infantry with field guns in the woods.”
“Roger that, we are moving to intercept. We will be with you in two minutes.”
“Roger GSF. We also have battle armor reported, they took out one of our recon Galleons.”
“Understood.”

“Major Cranson to all units, time to move people. The security convoy is under attack and moving back towards us. We have reports of ‘Mechs, armor, BA and infantry with field guns. We also have a friendly vehicle down.”
“Do we know if any are hurt? Dr Musashi will ask.
“Not at this time.” The Major will reply.

“Security convoy to GSF we just lost vehicle five.”
“Roger convoy, how bad?”
‘They got totaled.”
“Understood, make best possible speed to us.”
“That we are GSF.”

“Hay look, they are moving off.”
“I see that number three. Now keep the channel clear.”
“GSF this security convoy one the bad guys are moving off. The armored escort took out the Spider.”

“Security one to GSF are we glad to see you.”
“Probably as much as we are to see you. Sitrep.”
“We have two armored units down and one security vehicle lost. We took down a couple of infantry platoons with heavy guns some battle armor and a Spider.”
“What were the other units that attacked you?”
“They had a Grand Dragon, Tora and Daimyo. The armor also saw a platoon of Tokugawa’s plus a couple of tracked vehicles we think were Badgers.”
“OK fall in with us and we all will move to the security center.”
“Roger that GSF.”

“OK now that you are all here the security convoy will move into the secured hander. All convoy escort and GSF units please setup your camps on the east and west sides of the compound.”
“Roger compound control.” Major Cranson will respond. “OK all GSF units’ setup on the west side. Doctor after we are settled in you can get a better look at the Militia troopers that need medical care.”
“Hai Major.”
“I will get command to get us salvage vehicles so we can bring in what remains of the Spider and one Galleon. I will also get a recovery vehicle for the other Galleon so it can be transported to a repair center.”

Madina {the city} is a town co-chartered by the Malik and Rizvi Koichizoku - who are mostly the ethnic descendents of Indo-European, Mongolian, Scythian, Khitai, Ainu, Persian, and Arabic immigrants brought to Nejiro by the Terran Alliance Navy (2217) as experts (scientist, technician, engineers, farmers, tradespeople, crafters) and colonists. Madina is located on the border shared by the two landholds of the Malik and Rizvi Koichizoku and was originally developed in support of the Badawi Bazaar {desert dweller marketplace} to which most of the local artists, artisans, and crafters still bring their goods. (weavers, herders, farmers, brewers, potters, bakers, glassblowers, metal workers and others) The Bazaar occurs for thirty one days in a tent city outside the town during the dry season, most often November, for trade, markets, cultural events, reunions, matchmaking, and sport between the nomadic and town families of both Koichizoku and other nearby desert dwellers, traders, and visitors. Many of the open air markets are open to visitors and tourists where they may bargain for horses (of the Al Khamsa {the five foundation lines}), falcons and eagles, livestock, Lusterware (especially from Malik Alnaar which has a factory and warehouse outlet in town), ceramics and pottery, glass tableware and decor, jewelry of gold and precious stones, and a large selection of crafter and artisan wares from metal to wood work, tea and coffee, samovar and lamps, inks and dyes, herbs and spices, embroidered and beaded textiles, fresh produce and dairy, baked goods, weapons, beer and wine by the cask, street food, games and puzzles, looms, musical instruments, handmade paper and brushes, woven goods (rugs, apparel, tents, scarves), or they may watch storytellers and dancers. The Bazaar is often visited by representatives of Traders Trust, Chateau Mukhnari, the Circle G, Pola Cosmetics, Vecchio village truffle hunters, and others who set up stalls in the Bazaar on weekends. The Bazaar also serves as the origin of the Shahzada Endurance Test {son of shah} a five day four hundred kilometer race across the desert, and the Muhit Min Alnaar {ocean of fire} a one thousand kilometer cross country survival race conducted on horseback into the Kuroi Sabaku {black desert} - a true test of a horse's strength, stamina, resourcefulness, resilience, and courage. The finishers exhibit superbly healthy constitutions, incredible power, staunch spirit, strong legs, sure steps, and command incredibly high breeding values. The races attract horse enthusiasts from across the globe and several interstellar visitors. The Golden Eagle Festival is held the first week of October to celebrate their ethnic and cultural heritage, especially that of the hunters and their birds.Though they are most famous for hunting with the golden eagles native to Nejiro, there are also goshawks, ravens, peregrines, saker falcons, and others. The festival is an adventurous cultural attraction for locals, tourists, foreign travelers, and photographers. It is not just a festivity but an ancient hunting tradition and unique heritage, it captivates visitors from across the globe by showcasing a wonderful falconry tradition with thrilling horse competitions and many other games, activities, and folk performances. Prizes are awarded to hunters for speed, agility, accuracy, and best traditional dress. There is an opening ceremony with a parade of the hunters with their birds and horses followed by cultural and handicraft exhibitions, folk performances, and sport and games. The main attraction though are the hunters, rider and eagle dressed in full regalia mounted on groomed decorated horses. The entrants compete for such titles as Best Turned Out Eagle and Hunter, Best Eagle at Hunting Prey, and Best Eagle at Locating its Hunter from a Distance. Other activities include traditional coin grabbing games, catching and snatching game decoys, Uriankhai archery, horse racing, dancing, and the highly entertaining Buzkashi - a melee tug of war on horseback over a goatskin with the riders attempting to get the goatskin into a goal. Prizes are also awarded to photographers for the best 'shots' taken during the festival in various categories. As the population grew, the festival tent town evolved and became a central location for members of the two Koichizoku to meet, and not just during markets and festivals, and permanent trading posts, an inn, a road station, coffee houses, bars and cafes began to pop up. Later the town began to serve as a central location to support needed resources such as a hospital, a library, utilities, factories, logistics and distribution services, as well as hospitality for a growing number of visitors and tourists. Madina was officially granted a charter in 2879. Now the town of more than thirty five thousand is growing and there are several major businesses based here. The Badawi Group, the partnership and umbrella organization under which many of the businesses of the Malik and Rizvi Koichizoku operate has their headquarters here in Madina. Scorpio Small Arms (the Lightray energy gun) and Everlast (which manufactures the most durable, heavy duty, waterproof, shockproof, field rated performance laptops and tablets on Nejiro) have their factories here. Scrumptious Confections (public 131.79 Ryu per share) that manufactures candy and soda pop has their factory here. Sun and Wind Energy and Taqa Mutajadida {renewable energy} both have considerable assets in town for the service and manufacture of the parts and resources needed for their solar panels and wind turbines (which all include radio and satellite antennae and repeaters ensuring high fidelity communications) on energy farms placed throughout the Eastern Desert province. Soratobu-ba {flying horse} designs and manufactures small economical fast and fun to fly personal and family helicopters and fast comfortable reliable small business helicopters. They also design and manufacture mini vtol for up to six passengers with lift surfaces that fold into the vehicle upon landing. There are two railway stations - regional Wahatan Eki {oasis joy and divine harmony railway station} that serves the Eastern Desert province railways and local Madina Station that serves the Rizvi and Malik landholds. The recently completed, Aljanib Almushriq Mahata {sunny side railway station}, is a neon Moorish delight. A fantastical agglomeration of minarets, dome capped pavilions, and articulated archeays. The magnificent white and cream Anglo racism railway station is worth a stop. There is an inland port for the local waterways and canals, a regional aerofield Yatasil Matar {connect aerodrome}, and a sports complex Badawi Stadium that is designed to look like several tents erected together with valerium awnings, a retractable roof, and a retractable hybrid turf field for up to thirty thousand spectators. There is an NPO Tower with a complement of Constables and a resident unit of CIB agents led by Inspector Mackenzie Smythe, an NPO Wylde Ranger Tower led by Sgt. Azhaar Nazir, and a Nejiro Fire Brigade Wildland Firefighting unit with a search and rescue attachment led by Fire Captain Kay Gill stationed here whose services extend into the Kuroi Sabaku. Madina is regularly patrolled by the Malik militia the Muhajimun Alshabh {ghost strikers} led by Commander Zain el-Jalair Malik and by the Rizvi militia the Albadw {nomads} led by Commander Tariq Haq el-Rizvi. The Mayor of Madina {Daniyyal Drake} is elected every six years. Madina's community police and emergency matters are handled by the local Sheriff's {Noah Stylowo} Department and its Deputies, and the local Firehouse and ambulance corps are led by Chief Edmundo Diaz. There is a Magistrate Court presided over by a Yubokumin Chiku {nomad district} Chihosaibansho {district court} judge - the Honorable Judge Tomeka Yeager JD, Meritous. The Yubokumin Chiku is presided over by Kazya Okamoto MP and its Chiku jimusho {district office} is in Madina.

“Today with help from the Ironborn we announce that Hilo has extra security to keep all here safe.” Sugai Keiji will step back to show the new security force. “For the last two years we have had units from the Ironborn provide patrols when they were not on missions for the GSF. Before this new force we still had to worry if raiders will attack our fair city. With this new security force, we will have what others can only dream of part, security that these bandits will fear. I welcome these brave warriors to the Hilo Security Forces.” Looking to Euron
“Thank you for allowing us to do this. This city that has been very good to us and we are honored to provide this extra security.”
The four warriors will be standing next to the Battlemech they will pilot.

Nejiro News 1
The Ironborn and Sugai Ichizoku have created a new security force for the people of Hilo. This new force will MechWarriors from the Ironborn and Sugai militia working together to help keep the city safe from attack. We wish them the best in this.

HBC News
We are happy to report on the startup of the new security force for Hilo. This new unit is made up of units from The Ironborn and local Sugai Militia. They will be a welcome new addition to the city.

Hilo TV3
Both the Sugai Ichizoku and Ironborm Command were showing the latest addition to Hilo’s security forces. This new force has units from both the Sugai Militia and the Ironborn. We are in very good hands with this new unit providing for Hilo’s security.

The Tarawa Times
News out of Hilo shows just how the corruption of the leaders of this world works! Now they have more of the Mercenaries patrolling so they say. What they are is just one more way to keep control. Why does Hilo need more security, “security” that in now in the city proper? When was the last attack on this city? Is not the main base for the GSF not that far away? This is why we do not let them on our lands, why we have our own security. These security forces are just to keep control!

The Dakuu-orianyusu (Dark Warrior News)
So Sugai is working with the she-demon’s sell swords. We shall see how well this works.

Shin no wadopuresu (True Word Press)
So now you have more of the Governments security. Now they are in one of your major cities. Now you get to see that they just want armed mercenaries keeping control. What can this security force do? They are too small to properly defend Hilo. What? They can keep the good people of Hilo in fear, that is what.

“Hay hot stuff. I have word that you are looking for some big toys.”
“I just might be. Do you know of something I can use?”
“Well, I just might.”
“If you are going to waste my time with games I’m out of here.”
“No, no games, I know of some people that had some troubles and need to sell some used gear.”
OK, what kind of gear and is it on world?”
“Vehicles, a few of them and no they are not on this rock.”
“Like I said I’m not wasting time.”
“Hay, look at the list I’m sure your boss can use some of this if not all.” He hands her a pad.
After looking it over. “I will have to show this to my boss. If he likes what he sees, we will talk again if not don’t bother me anymore.” Deb gives him a final look.
“I’m sure for the price he will like the toys.”

“Welcome to The Dockside.” Elizabeth will welcome the Ironborn party. “Mr. Corado is waiting for you at the bar. We will have your private room is a bit.” She will walk them to the bar.
At the bar Nicolas will be talking with a man and two ladies. “Welcome, would you like a drink?” Nicolas will point to open stools.
“Nicolas thank you once more, but I do need to get back to work.” One of the ladies will give him a kiss on the cheek.
“Always happy to spend time with you Nagisa.” Nicolas will take and kiss her hand.
“I am happy that you would see us Mr. Corado,” Harald will offer his hand.
Taking his hand in a firm grip. “I am always happy to deal with members of The Ironborn and please it is Nicolas.”
“Harald,” Returning the handshake.
“This is Kent,” Nicolas will turn to his left. “He is head of security for my operations here on Nijero.”
Kent will off er his hand. “A pleasure.”
“This is my office manager Maggy.”
Looking at the others in the party. “Miss Hiyami or should I say MechWarrior Hiyami.” He will reach to kiss her hand. “I am happy to see you here again.” He will offer her the stool to his right. “You made a wonderful impression the other day on the news.”

During the ceremony:

The camera first pans to a Fire Javelin painted in iridescent blue scales with the head of the 'Mech painted as a dragon.  There are waves of falling pink sakura petals painted around its legs and feet, symbolizing the Sugai Ichizoku.  "First, I will introduce the 'Mech Lance Commander.  Lance Captain Beryl Blacktyde, call sign "Seiryuu"."  Beryl bows to the crowd respectfully.

Next the camera pans to a Black Knight, painted in a distinctive red firebird design, the 'Mech's faceplate painted as the firebird's beak and face.  It also has pink sakura petals painted on its legs and feet.  "Next, we have a familiar face to many of you here.  Hilo's own, Lieutenant JG Fuka Hiyami, call sign "Suzaku"." Fuka bows, then waves to a few people she recognizes.

Third, the camera moves to a Crab, its carapace painted gunmetal and its limbs in green.  It also possesses the sakura petals painted on its legs and also its arms.  "Next, Lieutenant JG Bors Harlaw, call sign "Genbu"."  Bors bows, then raises a fist to the crowd.

Finally, the camera centers on a Mongoose painted white with black tiger stripes, its head painted like that of a tiger.  It has sakura petals painted on its legs and feet.  "And last, but not least, Lieutenant JG Isolde Botley, call sign "Byakko"."  Isolde bows, then puts her hands on her hips.

Euron then introduces the militia liaison officers as well as the assembled Plantary Militia commanders present and finishes with.  "Ladies and Gentlemen, your new Hilo City Security Forces!"

OOG: I would (and want to) write more, but I will leave it here to reflect the different news reports (including the ones that hate us).   And yes, they DO look like a super sentai team.  That was deliberate.  It makes them distinctive from the Ironborn 'Mechs. Also, some may look at their gaudy paint jobs and underestimate them, thinking they're a bunch of idiots.

Now, back to IG:

At Phillip Exeter Academy:

Audra and Ana watch the ceremony on the vid.

"Hey, isn't that Miss Botley?" Yasmin Beckhit speaks up.

"Huh?  Oh yeah, it is."  Added Hua Chen.  "I didn't know she was one of the Ironborn.  They're Capellans aren't they?"

"Yeah."  The two started conversing between each other.

"Well, the cat's outta the bag."  Audra whispered into Ana's ear.  "It won't take ol' Sammy too long to figure out the connection.  Whatever we're gonna do, we're gonna have to figure it out fast."

Ana nodded.  "I agree it's not ideal, but hopefully your friends can resolve our mutual issue before it gets too dangerous for us."

"I hope so," said Audra, indicating Yasmin and Hua.  "'cause they're already looking at us funny."

As the group is watching the broadcast from Hilo about the new security forces that will be working with the city’s militia one of the other students comes running into the room. “Hay all of you have to come quick.”
“Why? What is so important you come barging in like this.” Anna asks.
Trying to catch his breath. “A bunch of NPO just picked up Samuel Sanada.”
“What??” Hua asks whit a look of disbelief on her face.
“YA, they are taking him to the Dean’s office right now.”
“Let’s go.” Audra gets up heading for the door.

Outside the building with all of the campus admin offices a group on NPO at the entrance.
“Wow look at them, they are not playing around.” Looking at the officers if full tactical gear.
“I wounder what is going on?” one of the other students asks.
“Nobody knows.” Another student answers.
“Well, whatever he did he got someone pissed.” From a different student.

Inside the Dean’s office.
“Dean we have orders to bring him in. We have a few complaints and the local NPO commander wants to speak with him now,”
“Look I need to see the warrant and inform his parents before you can take him.”
“Very well.” The officer hands over the warrants.
Looking over the warrants. “I see these are very serious charges.” Looking at Samuel. “If I were you, I would make sure my father got some very good lawyers.”
“You just make sure my father knows what is going on.” Looking at the officers. “All of you will rule this day when my father gets done with all of you.”
“Sure kid, we know just who you are and this time you bit off more then you and your family can chew.”
“OH, and we have other officers rounding up his buddies. Here are the warrants for them as well.”

Outside the building.
“They got some heavy hardware.” Audra whispers to Ana looking at the NPO officers. “Stay frosty.”
“Do you have any idea why they took him in?”
“What mister sunshine?” Audra looks at Ana. “From this show a bigger fish got fed up with is act.”

OK so the next two Mission dates are 11/10 and 12/29.

more fun to follow

OK so to start things for 10/11

“The new commander for the former Nazakawa Militia has asked if the GSF would provide OpFor for them to see how well the training they have been doing is working.”
“I think that we can do that for them.” Meiyo lets Tai-sa Zinni know. ”I am happy that MAWS has been working with them.  Inform the commander the GSF will help them with their training.”
“Arigatō Chiji.” He bows to her.
“No, it is I who must Thank You for all of the hard work you have put in. I do not want to think of how things could have been without all of you at MAWS putting in the extra work.”

“GSF command to all unit you will prep a force to work with some of the local militia. You will be working as a raider force around Nakazawa Shiro to test out the militia.”

“I think this not something that GSF units should be doing. They are here to hunt Jagā tōzoku-dan. They are also useful to deal with these Word of Blake and Kokuryu-kai problems. Training forces that are from Kegareta ichizoku that does not even have a new leader I do not understand. MAW should be doing all of their training to make sure the problems are gone.” Elisio looks at Gullia. “The GSF is a group of Katana o uru after all. Most are from realms that are/were not friends of the Dragon.”
“The GSF maybe sell swords as you say but they are in they employ of the Chiji as are you. She has shinrai in them to do this.” Gulia looks to Elisio. “You should have the same trust. I will make the transport arrangements for the GSF units.” She turns and walks from the room. “Baka!”

So you all get to play OpFor the militia that was .... now they are.
normal forces for the GSF.
Have fun all

“Today we are pleased to open this place of learning here in Hilo. With help from Frederick Bosche, Amaterasu Himiko and many others that have traveled so far away from home. The technical and other classes offered will help make Hilo an even stronger center for business on Nejiro.” Amalaa Sugai will cut the ribbon. “I now declare Nejiro Polytech open for learning.” A large round of applause will sound when the ribbon is cut.

Nejiro News 1
In Hilo Lady Sugai cut the ribbon on Nejiro’s newest technical school. With Frederick Bosche and Amaterasu Himiko by her side all three took the press for a tour of this new school.

HBC News
Today we have news of the opening of Nejiro’s newest technical school in Hilo. The after party saw many of Hilo’s movers and shakers on hand.

Hilo TV3
We are at the opening of Nejiro’s newest school for the technical trades. The gathering had many of the notable of Hilo on hand.

The Dakuu-orianyusu
So, the She-Demon thinks a new technical school is something that is newsworthy. The She-Demon should be more worried about the attacks that are happening here on Nejiro than about having her sell swords make a new reason for these attacks to happen.

Shin no wadopuresu
More distractions from your government, what can this school offer you the people of Nejiro other than problems.

“Have the techs go over every one of the vehicles that the Hands will be taking.”
“Yes sir,” Looking to the warehouse manager. “What are we doing with all the junk we have from the rebuilding.”
“The NPO wants the salvage, they want to try and get an idea who did the addon work.”
“OK we will load it in the shipping containers.”

“So, I ran across this, person in the Enclave, and he seems to know of a Merc outfit that ran into big money problems and has been selling off what gear they have still to cover bills.” Deb hands Niobe a pad. “This stuff has holes and will need crews but will help bring the armored unit up a bit.”
Looking over the list. “To start this will be of use. We can take the turret off ours and put this one back online fast.”
“That is the one I spotted first and why I even talked with the slime ball.” She shivers a bit. “I’ve done things before but that one is not one I would for any reason.”
“What about these?”
“From talking with the techs, we can get them going. They will need weapons due to the damage and armor also, but we can get what we need here.”
“I see these need turrets plus armor, but we can get what is need here as well.”
“This one we can get up and running fast as well. It needs weapon repairs and armor only.”
“Well let’s go talk to Quintin.”

“So, Deb has a good line on some very used armor for us. The asking price is not too bad and she said she can talk down the price.” Niobe opens with.
“The outfit that has these is on hard times and needs money bad. I’m sure I can talk the price down a bit. I will use the fact that they are stuck on Rezak’s Hole I can use to work the price a bit.”
“So how and why did they get stuck on that rock?”
“They raided Land’s End thinking they would have it easy with all that is going on and got rocked by another group doing the same thing. They got off world but could not pay for transit. The skippers of the transports took what gear was in the best shape and then dumped the rest on Rezak. Now they got bills and no money.” Deb looks at both. “Before you ask no we don’t want any of them, they got rocked by a lance of old light ‘Mechs. They would cost us too much to bring out her and in repair bills if we did put them back it the tanks. I also think the boss lady of the rock would skin you for bringing them here they got problems with the DC and the bounties are not worth it. It would cost more to get them dropped back in the DC to collect the bounties.”
“Look we can use the toys. When back online they will give us some need support firepower. The big hang up is getting the toys here. We will need transport and security. I know that someone will try something, my bet would be on these guys looking to score.”
“Well first have Ron look over what you have and see if he things they are worth the money.”
“I’ll get Russert to look over them also to see what he thinks.” Niobe adds. “He will need to get people in them and figure how to use them.”

“Ron, I have something I need you to look over.” Deb calls over to the Hands chief tech.
“What ya got?”
“Some armor that will need some TLC.” She hands him the pad. “Quintin was your view if we should try.”
“Wow almost two platoons. What happened to the crews?”
“They screwed up a raid and got dumped. They lost all transport and anything that did get shot up.”
“Will if these stats are real the Myrmidon we can use. Take the turret off ours and some armor and this one is ready to go. We also have some spares also.” Looking over the list more. “The others need a good rebuild and I’m sure Ratchet can handle that, it’s just how long before they can get to them. But that is not bad as it gives us time to buy the need parts to keep some of the costs down.” Looking at the price on the form. “Is that all they want?”
“Sure, is and I will talk them down on that.”
“You sure?”
“I did some checking, and they owe some bad people who want the money, not broken things.”
“Well, you go girl. Tell Q I said go for it.”

“Hay Russ, you got a couple for me?”
“Sure, what’s up?”
“Deb has a line of beat-up tanks on the cheap and I figured that you will be the one working with them soooo.” She hands him a pad.
“I get to stick in my two bits. So, what are we looking at?” Looking over the list. “Well, the Myrmidon is good to go. We slap on our turret and take some of the armor off our wreck and I get one back and have some parts to fix it later on.” Checking over the list. “These guys have some good heavy things that if we fix and put them into service my armor gets some punch.” Looking at the price and damage report. “For the price we can’t go wrong, and the repair time will let get people to crew them.”
“Well Deb said she will get the price down; she has some info that they will be willing to drop the price for cash.”
“Well, if she can get this for less, we need to get them.”
“The only problems are transport and security.”
“Why not talk to the Chiji? Her people have transport and security and the rep out this way is you don’t mess with them.”
“That is a great idea. Thanks.”

“So, we have a line on some armor and need to know if you can bring them back to spec?” Deb asks the shop manager.
Looking at the list. “Sure, but some will need time and a lot of parts.”
“We know that, and we will get the parts. We just need your techs to bring them back to fighting trim.”
“OK so the Myrmidon will be the fastest as it need some armor and a turret.”
“That is what our tech said, and we have that on hand.”
“Next would be the Manticore, she needs armor and the S6 and L10 replaced. You may want to keep ’em to see if they can be fixed.”
“That works.”
“The Patton needs the cannon and L5 replaced, they are junk. The Hunter will need the L20 but like the Manticore we will ship it back so you can repair it. The Drillson needs a turret and said weapons plus the L10. The Luckner also need its turret replaced and the S6 needs work so we will pull it and send it back for your people to fix for later use. Last up it this Brutus, she needs the most work and weapons. One of the large Lasers, the L20, S6 and S2 need to be replaced so talk with the locals and see what they will do on the price.”
“I’m working on that. So how much and how long?”
“With us just doing the labor, all of them 750,000 C-Bills and they all will be done in seven months and long as you get us the parts on time.”
“Thanks.”
“We will take payment as they are done also,”
“No problem.”

“OK so we did all the leg work, and this is the deal.” Deb looks at Quintin. “The group that has the stuff is looking for 1.7 million, I’m sure I can get them down to 1.25 maybe a million even if I turn on the charm.” She hands him a pad. “From that the techs and Ratchet tell me the labor cost will be 750,000. Local suppliers have given me a total of 1.5 million for the armor and weapons needed to fix the toys. The Techs tell me that some of the weapons are rebuildable, but it will be better to replace them to get the armor online faster. They can fix 'em for use later. We will need another half million for ammo for them as they will not be under contract. Last off we will need 2.5 million for shipping.” She looks at him. “So, if this goes for top C-Bill it will cost 5 million for 6 combat vehicles that are worth over 17 mil.” Checking over her pad. “OH, and I will be off world for about 2 months. So do you want to do this, or do I tell the little sot to blow?”
