Dig, Defend, Or Die BF Record Sheets
« on: 21 September 2024, 11:41:12 »
I took the time to pencil out some record sheets for Battleforce using the 2018 event data for Dig, Defend, or Die.  The scenario and maps for this event were free and are available on the Catalyst Webstore.  Merely type '2018' in the search bar and you should get a quick result with these near the top.  It won't hurt to add the Battleforce Map Pack map that can be arranged in various different ways to create one massive map as large as desired for a very reasonable price.  This same Battleforce map is included in the Hillset Terrain bundle also.  The last is not necessary, but if you're going to be printing maps out, you might as well get 9 copies of the BF map done while you're at it.

I know the original Record Sheets for Battleforce in IO:BF do not have the critical hits information represented on the sheet.  Using the same tic-tac-toe frames I am using on Graph paper will fit on the record sheets too in the empty space to the right of the Armor/Structure or on Special Abilities.
This same information MAY fit in the Strategic Battleforce Formation Record Sheet.  I haven't tried it yet.  For now, this works better for me because I don't like not being able to fit an entire Clan Trinary without using two Record Sheets.  And I wanted to show you can get away without the necessity of a printer.  You can see the evolution of my patterns and marks.  I include the advanced rules extreme ranges and also criticals for turrets on combat vehicles.  These files can also be found on my tineyurl.com/zematusbf google drive folder.  Look for 'Dig, Defend, or Die BF Graph Record Sheets'.  Yes, my hand writing is atrocious but you're welcome to offer us a cleaner version.   The file is 12k and will not fit as an attachment here.

As with most of the things I do, they are all works in progress that I am sharing as I go along in my own Battletech experience.  This project was to prove you could play an event that was intended for up to 20 players with just two players with using the Battleforce scale system.  You can find a way to incorporate the scenario rules to fit Battleforce with little effort.  I want to encourage more Battleforce awareness and I hope you find the printout saves anyone time from having to create the force record sheets themselves.  Take care.

Awesome Battleforce Initiative! It's fantastic that you're creating record sheets for Battleforce using the "Dig, Defend, or Die" scenario data! While some might find your handwriting challenging, it adds a personal touch. But if you do decide to create a cleaner version, tools like image editing software or online forms creation platforms can be helpful.

I'm grateful that you share my enthusiasm and take the boast of getting your first post.

The recommendation for the software is appreciated, but my electro hyper-sensitivity syndrome restrains my screen time.  I don't find the record keeping too burdensome, but being able to scan and later print the documents again will offer others the opportunity to get into Battleforce with what is probably the lowest cost entry through this scenario.
