We have an interesting discussion happening right now for our campaign about how Sandblaster is written as to what it affects when first purchased.
Campaign Operations pg 79, 4th Printing, states, "...the gunner with the Sandblaster Ability has spent hours mastering the unique properties of one type of clustering weapon, be it a missile or rocket launcher, an ultra or rotary autocannon, or an LB-X style weapon, selected at the beginning of a scenario..." - emphasis added.
The question regarding this is how is "missiles" being defined.
One argument is that it just says "missiles", meaning all Missile types, so a pilot with one purchase of Sandblaster of a Crusader can apply Sandblaster to both their LRMs and SRMs.
The other side of it is that Pilot Cards like Sara O'Cathain (Kell Hounds Crusader) list the specific type of Missiles they use, in this case (LRM). So Sara O'Cathain handed a Savage Coyote couldn't apply the Sandblaster to its ATMs, much less her Crusader's SRMs.
Which is the proper approach to be taking on this?
