Question for plasma weapons bay against large crafts

I had the rules question some years ago but I am still don't understand how it works properly.

Simply put, is the answer means, the large crafts(that is not the heat tracking unit) does not suffer more than 15 damage from any additional damage caused by plasma weapons on a round regardless of the numbers of shots?

So, for example, whatever a bay have 5 plasma cannons(each causes 3d6 damage on the non heat tracking unit) or more than that, the damage caused by that bay cannot exceed 15 regardless, and further plasma cannon attacks on the same target at the same round have no effect as well? Am I read the answer correctly?

That's how it reads to me, but I don't see an answer to your follow up.

That should be asked on the rules forum, so I don't want to advance more on here. I just want to make the existing answers clear. Anyway, thanks it was somewhat confused for years....

It is better to go to the rules forum.

It is better to go to the rules forum.

I did already, and what I want to ask is ask if my read for the answer was correct.
