Trying to fix a dark age MBT by moving things around...
« on: 03 February 2020, 10:52:45 »
We all know the Hanse MBT, the tank that fixes everything forward and yet calls itself a MBT.

     R/L Side               8/8      54/54
     Rear                    8         50

Weapons
and Ammo                      Location    Tonnage
Trailer Hitch                   Rear        0.0

Plasma Rifle Ammo (40)          Body        4.0

It moves the plasma rifles to the sides of the tank and mounts them in the sponsons alongside the regular machineguns now. So it can still fire its plasma guns forward or in wide arcs to cover its sides and then backwards to cover the rear of the tank.

Heavy Ferro covers the tank, providing even more protection. Instead of the expensive supercharger the tank instead makes due with an ECM suite to suit the very technological battlefield of the Dark Age.

Why not a turret so you can move the AC as well?

I don't know Revenrake's reasons, but I know that adding a turret also means adding a whole new location that needs to be armoured - probably at least as well as your flanks are, so that'd be another 2.5-3 tons here.
Also they can't get jammed up.

Sponsons are rad, but be careful because they only overlap on a single line drawn through the very front, so positioning is important.
