It's a little too "Wolverine-M" for me, but, what it does inspire me to do is maybe look into a Merging of the 2D & 2K models as a single upgrade to the 2K.
Keep the LRM5, ML, SRM2
Hmm, Swap AC5 for PPC/LL, not sure.
PPC could just add 2 SHS v/s LL you can add 2SHS, ML, SRM2 (but not the 2nd ton of ammo)
Either way it keeps the Armor of the 2H/2K & adds at least the 2 SHS of the 2D, but not the crazy amount from the 2K.

I am less of a fan of 2 types of basic missiles, for the same tonnage you can squeeze in 3 lrm5s, would need another ton of ammo though

Alternatively, take an SHD-2H, swap the autocannon for a PPC, and use the spare mass to upgrade the SRMs to an SRM-4 and add a second medium laser. Or, even more simple, the PPC swap and 2 heat sinks. Either can potentially force a PSR, and the latter is even a WYSIWYG swap, and very in keeping with he original Shadow Hawk.

With those two tons I'd go for the other two jump jets and armor, but that's me... :)

Agreed on both, much more "Optimal" options.
Sometimes though you want to keep that "CrapowHawk" feel of 2 mixed launchers & 5-8-3 as ugly as that is.
Jumping ahead to the Jihad I think there is a Hawk w/ MML7 instead of the 2 launchers & it keeps WYSIWYG & I love that, even though you do have the inefficiency of the MML7 tonnage in there. But I like the feel of it at least.
No idea what the rest of the stats are but a pair of Beamers (ERPPC/ERML?) w/ MML7 isn't a bad option really at all.
