 28 October 3056
          Menke

The 3rd Davion Guards RCT grounded not far from the planet's capitol. Marshal Jim Seymour was not looking for a lightning quick victory, he was looking for a victory that minimized damage to the industries on the planet. He had received word that the 8th Syrtis Fusiliers had arrived in system, minus 1 Armor and 2 Infantry Regiments that were garrisoning Mitchel.

Marshal Seymour had Aerospace Fighters from his Wings flying patrol and strike missions on the MAC's main base. He had selected Star Corps facility as his first target to capture. The dense jungle's made travel difficult for the AFFC forces. He really wanted to wait for the 8th Syrtis to land, though not as experienced as his Guards, the 8th Syrtis had worked very well with the 3rd Davion Guards during the months long deployment during training. Intel had "lost" track of 3rd MAC during the invasion, so Marshal Seymour was being overly cautious in his advance.

  Madras

The 15th Deneb Light Cavalry had landed on the 25th October and had finally secured the planet after chasing several militia regiments around the planet's surface before finally cornering each one and destroying them.

  Grand Base

The 3rd Ceti Hussars entered the system at the Zenith Jump Point and quickly secured the recharge station located there. They had 8 days to the planet's surface.

  New Westin

Once garrison forces had arrived on Purvo, AFFC Command had selected New Westin as the target for the 1st Fed Suns Armored Cavalry and 2nd Ceti Hussars RCT. Leaping them ever closer to Sian and placing both units close enough to easily support the coming SIC offensive. The 2nd Ceti Hussars would capture and secure New Westin.

  Sian

Chancellor Sun Tzu Liao had already killed 3 messengers delivering the ever increasingly bad news. Now he had Thomas Marik's response and it had sent Sun Tzu on a rampage in the Celestial Throne Room.

 Sun Tzu,

I cannot commit the Free Worlds League to war against the Federated Commonwealth. I warned you not to provoke the Federated Commonwealth months ago, you deemed to ignore my warnings. Now you have awoken a sleeping giant that was no immediate threat to your nation. I have forbidden Isis' return to Sian for safety concerns. She will remain in the FWL until I deem it is safe for her to proceed.

 Good Luck

Sun Tzu finally forced himself to calm down some and studied the most current reports from the frontlines. Huge chunks of his nation were being swallowed by the AFFC and worst yet, they were using but a tiny fraction of their overall forces to do it. He saw Chamdo go from a greenish gold to a bright gold on the star map as the situation was updated. Then Truth glowed a bright gold.

As much as he hated to, he had appealed to his Aunt Candace to assist the Capellan Confederation, her homeland from bring swallowed by the hostile Federated Commonwealth and had received a scathing response from her.

 Nephew,

You have brought war and destruction upon the people of the Confederation. I have long cautioned you to curb your hostile nature to the Commonwealth, you have chosen to ignore my advice repeatedly. Now you have forced me to make a choice, stand by and watch the AFFC gobble up the Capellan Confederation and possibly kill many more innocent citizens or come to their aid. I will come to the aid of the Capellan citizens.

Sun Tzu had shouted out in joy upon reading that part of the message. After several moments of celebration he had forced himself to finish reading the message.

For too long the citizens of the Capellan Confederation have been ruled by twisted power mad rulers. I will help the citizens by removing you as their ruler Sun Tzu. I am coming home.

 New Avalon

Archon Prince Victor Steiner Davion and the AFFC High Command were reviewing the reports from the front. Victor really wanted to be there instead of on New Avalon. But forced himself to remain focused on the big picture.

"Detail Task Force 35 to assist Kai's forces. I see you have already shifted 2 Regiments closer to Sian to provide support if it is needed. Task Force 34 can move to Capella, lock it down. Tell the 6th Syrtis Fusiliers to move to Campertown and assist the 12th Vegan Rangers, they have been holding their own, but it is time to put an end to that fight. What do we have at Ulan Bator now?" Victor asked

"Ulan Bator now has in system the 2nd Battle Squadron, 5th Lyran Regulars, 13th Lyran Guards." Morgan replied

"Have them take Sarna back, both of those units are shakey. Have 5th Davion Guards RCT back them up. Kai's forces launching on the 1st November correct?" Victor asked

"Yes Highness, they are already marshalled and sitting on ready. We loaned them some jumpships and dropships to make it happen." Morgan said

  Mackolla

The salvaged dropships from the 2 derelict jumpships had finally arrived back at Mackolla and would land on the 1st November. All the ships used during the patrol effort were back in system. Salvage Yardship had reached the Aegis cruiser and was just starting repairs on her. The Black Lion was 2 jumps away.

I'm hoping that junior Strategos made it off world before being selected to be one of those three messengers...

"Good Luck" is an awesome sign off from Thomas...  ;D

And I'm very glad to see Campertown finally getting some relief.

I doubt the even the great manufacturing station that the Mitchells have can be retooled for a design they have not designed.  Be easier to make it into salvage, and use that to make more of thier ships.

How big is the FedCom Fleet now exactly and how is it broken up I know they have task groups but are they divided between fleets such as Cappellan, Draconis or Curis fleets or something else?

Current AFFC fleet is on page 21 post number 627.

They will be doing a major fleet re-organization around January 3057

Oh Yeah, Boss (me) have quite a few designs lined up. We just have not built any yet so I have not really posted about them yet.

Aside from the Buford and Patrol classes, right?  :)

Also, page numbers aren't quite so useful, as you can change the number of posts displayed per page (e.g., I only see 14 total pages). Post numbers are invariant, though, so it's still a good ref.  And FYSA, if you click on the specific post when it's displayed, you can get the direct link to it.

            Palos

Admiral David Fogerty was studying his plot board, his small but powerful warship squadron consisted of:

 FCS Charles Davion Congress Frigate
 FCS Phantom Pinto Corvette
 FCS Greyson Pinto Corvette
 FCS Raven Patrol Corvette

His current mission was to continue training up his squadron while providing warship support in the Sarna March. They had been in system since yesterday.

  Robsart

Admiral Jules Hentlock had been conducting wargames in the region with his warship squadron, it consisted of:

 FCS Robert Steiner Riga Frigate
 FCS Sword Lola III Destroyer
 FCS Fist Lola III Destroyer

With his squadron of warships were the following forces:

3rd Davion Guards RCT (3 Lee, 6 Gremlin)
8th Syrtis Fusiliers RCT (6 Gremlin)

Their next assignment was to assault Frazer defended by the Davion Assault Guards RCT due to start around 15 September.

  New Avalon

Admiral Penelope Cruz commanded the most powerful warship fleet in the AFFC and was proud of it. Her command consisted of:

 FCS Melissa Davion Saratoga Carrier
 FCS Ian Davion Saratoga Carrier
 FCS Balmora Buford Corvette
 FCS Justin Allard Buford Corvette
 FCS Sunburst Buford Corvette
 FCS Fantasy Buford Corvette
 FCS Kentares Patrol Corvette
 FCS Doomsday Carrack Transport
 FCS Extinction Carrack Transport

At least until Admiral Spruance arrived back. Her fleet would move to the Lyran Command when he arrived at New Avalon. His fleet had:

 2 Saratoga Carrier
 4 Buford Corvette
 4 Patrol Corvette
 6 Invader Q-Ship
 2 Carrack Transports

The Lyran half of the Commonwealth had 6 Fox Corvettes deployed along the Clan border. A further 4 Q-ships were deployed along the FedCom border facing the Outworlds Alliance.

           Harloc

Aliesha's Mounted Fusiliers and the Blackwind Lancers jumped in system at a pirate point only 3 days from the planet. They immediately detached and began their trip to the planet's surface. They were the designated units slated to take the planet. But also arriving in system but at the Nadir Jump Point was the 1st and 2nd St. Ives Lancers. Kai Allard Liao was commanding the overall SIC offensive aboard the invasion fleet.

  Gei-Fu

Raymond's Armored Infantry jumped into a pirate point 4 days from the planets surface and began their run to the planet.

  Re-Tasking of Forces

Task Force 34 heading for Capella via Sarna.
2nd Battle Squadron escorting invasion of Sarna. 5th Lyran Regulars and 13th Lyran Guards.
6th Syrtis Fusiliers RCT reinforcing Campertown
5th Davion Guards RCT to back up Sarna invasion (minus 3 Infantry Reg garrisoning Ares)
8th Donegal Guards (minus 2 Infantry Reg garrisoning Necromo)
36th Lyran Guards RCT to Kaifeng after securing New Sagan
7th FedCom RCT to Relevow after securing Capricorn III
1st Kittery Borderers to Glasgow after securing Overton
14th Donegal Guards RCT to Glasgow after securing Aldertaine
Delta and Gamma Regiments WD heading for Capella
Beta Regiment and Zeta Batt acting as a reserve at Genoa
Task Force 35 heading for Harloc to link up with SIC forces
1st Fed Suns Armored Cavalry moving on to Imalda

20 Infantry Regiments now arriving in theater and will be deployed as such to free up frontline units to return to parent unit.

  5 Regiments to Mitchel
  5 Regiments to Jacson
  5 Regiments to Homestead
  5 Regiments to Holloway

  Styk

Smithson's Chinese Bandits, Crater Cobra's, Swann's Cavaliers had landed on Styk on 17 October 3056 and battered around the 3rd Donegal Guards RCT but the Elite Regiment had been giving as good as it got and had even forced Swann's Cavaliers to fall back for a major repair and re-organization. Hauptmann General Thanom Hammerskjold was not nearly as good as he thought he was and the unit's success was due to his actual unit commanders and an excellent battle staff. His XO Lieutenant General Wendell Power performed most of the heavy battle planning after the initial assault.

4 full Mercenary Regiments had landed on the planet. After some initial success, the mercenaries found themselves suffering heavier losses assaulting the 3rd Donegal Guards positions.  Colonel Stephen Prynne of the Crater Cobra's had been nominated for overall command of the mercenary invasion of Styk. Now, after almost 2 weeks of fighting, he was having doubts about their chances of success against the 3rd Donegal Guards.

At the Zenith Jump Point, all the Mercenary units Jumpships were stationed at. Everything was going good at the Jump Point when emergence signatures were detected. This made the Jumpship captains nervous but then they went to flat out panic when it appeared the incoming ships were going to emerge extremely close to the gathered fleet. Panic turned to absolute terror when the first ship appeared only 130km from the gathered fleet, the Aegis Cruiser WDS Alexander. This was followed by 3 more warships all within 500km of the gathered fleet of Jumpships, Sovetskii Soyuz Cruiser WDS Athena, Lola III Destroyers WDS Darius and WDS Nelson. The Dragoon naval commander called for the immediate surrender of the Jumpship fleet, when the first Invader Jumpship began powering up it's jump drive, the Athena opened fire on the Invader destroying it. The rest of the Jumpships quickly realized that the century's old custom of not destroying Jumpships was no longer in effect and surrendered without further attempts to flee.

When word reached Colonel Stephen Prynne of the arriving Dragoon warships and the Jumpship fleet's surrender he knew there was no hope at all for any of them. He needed to call a commanders meeting.

           Sian

When word arrived announcing the St. Ives Compact's entry into the war against him, Chancellor Sun Tzu Liao began ordering every unit he could find to Sian to defend the capitol. His Strategio's were beside themselves, Sun Tzu would no longer listen to their suggestions. They studied the list and calculated that most of the units would not reach Sian for at least 3 months. Their calculations placed the SIC troops at Sian in just over a month's time. Only 3 mercenary units, former FWL had a decent chance of arriving in less than a month's time.

 Barrett's Fusiliers
 Greenburg's Godzillas
 Black Hearts

Sian currently had the following unit's on the planet:
 3rd MAC
 Red Lancers
 10 Armor Regiments
 30 Infantry Regiments
 4 Aerospace Wings

It would make for a stiff defense against the SIC units, but the Strategios knew all was lost if the AFFC piled on also in any way.

            Mackolla

Scott was going over all the Warship, Jumpship and Dropship units available to the Mackolla Defense Force or Mitchell Aerospace and Shipyards. He found that they were pretty beefy:

 3 Saratoga Class Carriers
6 Halsey Destroyers (3 more under construction)
6 Buford Corvettes (2 more under construction)
 8 Patrol Corvettes
 8 Invader Q-Ships
 3 Carrack Transports
 4 LF Monolith Jumpships
 8 Star Lord Jumpships
 3 Tramp Jumpships
 12 Invader Jumpships
 4 Merchant Jumpships
 2 Scout Jumpships
 1 Explorer Jumpship
 3 Lee Mech Dropships
 4 Lee Armor Dropships
 5 Gremlin Dropships
 5 Overlord Dropships
 6 Modified Union Dropships
 2 Seeker Dropships
4 Intruder BA Dropships (256 BA)
4 Intruder BA Dropships (75 BA)
 6 Pentagon Dropships
 26 Mammoth Dropships
8 Converted Mule Dropships (14,000 pass)
 8 Mule Dropships
 6 Jumbo Dropships
 6 Aqueduct Dropships
 6 Elephant Tug Dropships
 2 Dictator Dropships

All told it was a huge fleet. The recovered Dropships just returned were included in the ship count. Scott was still awaiting the final list of what those Dropships carried, which should arrive at anytime. He needed the exact count because he was planning on organizing the Warships into some kind of operations grouping. This willy nilly stuff was getting old.

A knock on the door frame brought his head up and he saw George and Craig at the door. He waved them in and to seats, he knew they had the inventory on what those Dropships carried. "I take it that small sheet of paper is what those Dropships carried?" He asked

George spoke up "That is correct. It all fit on a single sheet of paper."

"Your kidding me, a single sheet of paper for the contents of 10 Dropships?" Scott asked in bewilderment.

"Well, the Dictators carried mechs of course 36 Shootist's and 36 Highlanders. Now, the 2 Mules carried between them 200 Cobra VTOL, 10 Cobra MASH VTOL. The best was in the 6 Mammoth Dropships. It took us a few days to dig thru all that machinery to find out exactly what we have, but we finally found it. Those 6 Mammoth Dropships carry a 5 production line tank factory in them. According to the manuals we recovered, it is pre-loaded with several tanks already. They are Turhan, Manticore, Merkava Mk VIII, T-12 Tiger, Marsden II. I am pretty sure we could upload any design currently in production into the computer system. According to the manual, each line will build roughly 4 per month. So 5 Battalions per year of tanks." George said

"Well, that is good news, only problem we have is we don't have the people here to handle another large factory." Scott said

"We might not have the people here, but you damn sure have the people over on Bamburgh to run this factory." George fired back

"George, the people over there are pretty far behind the times. I am not sure they could handle a full on factory, much less produce anything like a tank." Scott said

"Those people might surprise you Scott. The people you brought over here are quick learners and eager to learn. Take the factory over to Bamburgh, say thank you to the salvage gods and put the people over there to work. I will even scrounge up some folks from here to send with the factory to assist in assembling it and figuring out how it works and then train the folks to use it." George said "Now, Craig has some ideas to run by you."

"Sir, I project we will have General Honos' unit fully equipped with Omni-Mechs in 6 months time. Our construction time is getting faster, not much but we have saved 7 days on each Omni-Mech on average. I would like to remove the Mech Bays from the Dictators. With 72 Bays, I think I can add another 24-30 refit/production platforms. Right now, we have ample Clan Mech technicians to man the additional refit/production platforms. I am also conductng training with your technicians on how to maintain and in some cases repair Clan weapons and equipment." Craig said

"George, what do you think?" Scott asked

"I have no problem with it. I mean, way back I was highly doubtful, but Craig and his people have worked some miracles. We have worked out the major issues already, myomer production was a bitch to get right, but between all of us we mastered that little issue. We can easily supply the material needed to increase Mech production if you choose to. Those amounts are trivial compared to what the shipyards use." George said

"Okay Craig, you have my blessing. George, you know sooner or later someone is going to sue us for license theft or some such. We damn sure have not asked anyone for licenses to any of the standard mechs he wants to build." Scott said

"Scott, look at that shipyard facility we have, then look at the ever growing warship fleet you command. What are they going to do? Come in here and take our stuff by force? Please, no one in their right mind is even going to try." George said "Besides, if Craig had his way, we would produce Clan Mechs all the time. Now, have you seen the specs on that big ass warship Boss sent down?"

"Yeah, I saw it. Victory Heavy Cruiser, 900,000 tons of bad. I might let him build a couple of them, not sure I like the build time for the damn things, a year for each one. I also heard the armor is a bitch to make." Scott said

"It is, where we do 100 tons a day easy on all the others, this stuff takes 3 days to make 100 tons. But it is the best stuff out there." George said

I know previously they used the 12 mech bays salvaged from the pirate base to make 4 more refit platforms. I mean, they could make them at will. Eh, using the mech bays off the dropships will be quicker than fresh build.

  MDF Robin Corvette (Patrol Class)

  Mackolla Squadron

  MDF Falcon Corvette (Patrol Class)
  MDF Buzzard Corvette (Patrol Class)

  Surveillance Squadron
MDF Justine Mitchell Q-Ship (Invader Q-Ship Class)
MDF Teresa Mitchell Q-Ship (Invader Q-Ship Class)

MDF Joseph Mitchell Q-Ship (Invader Q-Ship Class)
MDF Samuel Mitchell Q-Ship (Invader Q-Ship Class)
MDF Henry Mitchell Q-Ship (Invader Q-Ship Class)

  Unassigned
MDF Farragut Destroyer (Halsey Class) (completion Jan 3057)
MDF Mahan Destroyer (Halsey Class) (completion Feb 3057)
MDF Clemson Destroyer (Halsey Class) (completion Feb 3057)

As he looked over the list for the umpteenth time, Scott toyed with letting build a couple of those Victory Cruisers. He could either assign them to the 2 unassigned Halsey Destroyers or add 1 each to the Battle Squadrons and assign the unassigned Halsey Destroyers to the Carrier groups, 1 per Carrier. He currently did not count the Aegis Cruiser or the Farragut Battleship in his counts. He was not even sure if he would keep them or sell them to the AFFC.

  3 November 3056

The large dropship fleet from the AFFC carrying the equipment and personnel for the 6th Davion Guards RCT arrived in system today and began the 10 day journey to the surface. Not only would the convoy completely fill out the 6th Davion, but it also carried Peter Steiner Davion aboard it. This should be fun Scott thought to himself. Hauptman General Daly had already recruited 3 Infantry Regiments from Bamburgh, plus his original Infantry Regiment, the dropships carried personnel to man his Jump Infantry Regiment.

  Styk

With the Dragoons now in possession of the mercenary Jumpship fleet, all of the mercenary commanders agreed that further fighting was useless. It was just a matter of time before either the Dragoons put troops on the ground or the AFFC sent more units to destroy the now trapped and isolated mercenaries on Styk. They had voted to discuss surrender terms.

  Gibson

Word had finally been received about the AFFC attacking the WoB ships assisting in the recovery of the derelict Black Lion. This infuriated Precentor Martial Trent Arian who wanted to retaliate against the AFFC for the blatant attack on WoB personnel. Precentor ROM Alexander Kernoff cautioned him to maintain his calm, for they must focus upon their immediate plans. Yes, they had 5 divisions of troops available and ready, but there was no need to currently tip their hand. Plus the reports of the massive size of the active warships in AFFC hands was worrisome in itself.

  Demeter

True to his word, Jaime Wolf had 300 Dragoon personnel ready to assist the now arriving shipyards. It was estimated to take 4 months to assemble the 4 shipyards and factories. The Dragoons really needed those yards to assist in maintaining their fleet. The Dragoon personnel were joined by 374 newly graduated employee's of Mitchell Aerospace with another 481 recent graduates and new employee's led by Albert Blaine from MISS who would assist and be in temporary command of the operation until the permanent head arrived. They were 5 months away still.
