March 12, 3060 - Caph
Rawne's Raiders, a mercenary light raiding unit, are stationed in the city of Aswan, which is held by the Stealthy Tigers. Half a world away, the mercenary unit, Lindon's Battalion has been trying to figure out how to take back their dropships which were left behind in Aswan upon their first deployment 2 years ago. After their first failed attempt, they launch a second operation involving several diversionary raids to distract the Tigers away from the city ports. Using the brief window of opportunity this creates, they insert a small fighting force into the city with the intention of freeing their dropship crews and making a hasty exit with their reclaimed dropships. Unfortunately for them, Rawne's Raiders, currently stationed for repairs and resupply, are ready to defend.
Lindon's Battalion is in a desperate situation, and the newly appointed CO, Sarah Lindon, is personally leading the raid into the city. Her lance includes:

http://i.imgur.com/qn0Rmyp.jpgWithin the first minute of contact, the Raiders score the killing blow; indirect LRM fire smashes right into Col. Lindon's Griffin, completely destroying the head and killing the Battalion's commander. Panic ensues, and most of their units flee the field. A loyal Wolverine pilot stays to finish the mission, as well as the APC's and infantry crews.

http://i.imgur.com/iz4vahN.jpgIn the end, the Raiders were victorious. The wolverine pilot made a terrible landing into a pile of rubble, and lost her footing. The armor units capitalized on this folly, destroying the mech. Meanwhile, inferno rounds fired from a Warrior VTOL proved effective in combating the infantry attempting the hostile boarding, causing them to surrender. The Overlord was spared any damage, the civilian contractors survived the ordeal, and the Raiders once again proved themselves a valuable asset to the FWLM.
