I had Buccanneer perform a DFA on an Awesome but during the weapon attack phase the Awesome was headcapped.
My question is what happened to the Buccanneer?
We had the Buccanneer land on the target hex.

What I want to know is did the Buccaneer have to make a piloting skill roll to land?
Did he take damage as if he performed the attack?

Lands as per a normal jump. Once dead, a unit takes up no "space".
