Marik seems limited to Blackjack-Omni, Hunchbacks, Trebuchets. Chameleons should be available but unlikely in frontline use. Some old Centurions might still be around, and a few Blitzkriegs might have reached their assigned units.

As for what is good, that's harder. Stay away from the HBK-5M, since that one is made of fail, otherwise most Hunchbacks should be OK, and so should the Blackjack omni. I leave to someone else to evaluate the Trebuchet variants, since I have some issues with that one.

Trebuchet does sort of spring to mind, yes.
Mordin Solus: We need a plan to stop them.
John Shepard: We fight or we die. That's the plan.
Ashley Williams: Wow. That's the plan? Is it just me, or did Shepard have better plans before he died?
Urdnot Wrex: Silence! This is the best plan anyone, anywhere has ever had!

I see no one has mentioned the Trebuchet....

Largely depends on the role you're looking for. What kind of combat roles are you expecting to try and fill, Caturix?

Heh. Sorry about that. Misread it as medium mechs, not simply 50 tonners. :)

The old TRO3025 states that the FWL prefers heavy-fire lances with Archers, Trebuchets and a Centurion. So i think the Centurion - even while later sources don't list a factory for the FWL - is also a valid option.

Not sure who uses the Centurion 4D. The name says Davion, the Light GR says FWL.

Curious to know why you're limiting it to 50 tons (especially with the aforementioned Apollo and Wraith and 55).  The number of IS 50 ton chassis available in 3062 is pretty limited for everyone, much less the FWLM.

That said, I'd go with a Treb from the options available

Not sure who uses the Centurion 4D. The name says Davion, the Light GR says FWL.
The Free World's League exported the Light Gauss Rifle to the Federated Suns for a period of time, it is mentioned in the TRO for a few Davion machines that use LGRs.
It wouldn't be totally out of the picture for this trade to go both ways. Especially since Corean Enterprises is both in the Federated Suns and the Free Worlds League. With the Centurion line on New Avalon and LGR line on Stewart if I recall correctly.

So I wouldn't consider a Centurion to be unheard of in FWL units. Not being familiar with FWL politics, I would say that the Centurion would be more common in units that Stewart were to favour of course.

Well, it was designed as an companion to the Trebuchet and built in the FWL 2801-2845.

We will be playing in 3067, that is why I'm limiting myself to units available up to that date.
And 50 tons mechs, because I already have an Archer, a Battlemaster and a Thunderbolt, for a total force of 270 tons max. So, I'm looking to complete my lance ;) !

The trouble is, how can one know which versions are used by which faction, as the letters (- M, -S, -K, -C, -SE, -D, -L, ...) sometimes don't mean much (Archer 9-M) ?

Trebuchet,Blackjack omnis, Hunchbacks are good choices. Anything more unusual, "exotic" I may have overlooked ?

Generally speaking, -Ms are Marik.  There are exceptions, but it's accurate enough.

There's some interesting stuff at 45 tons, but a Hunchback might be a good choice with all your 4/6 movers.

I'd have to agree here.  The Hunchback would do well in covering the advance of your BattleMaster and Thunderbolt, guarding their rear as well as the Archer's flank.

If you're willing to push back the cutoff two years to 3064 and drop your lance weight 5 tons, the Bloodhound B1-HND is a fine machine.  7/11 speed, decent punch, and a BAP.

I'm not thrilled with the stock Hunchbacks.  They have ammo issues unless you can get your hands on a -5N (a field refit of the -5M).  Or you can go with a 'Swayback' like the -4P

If you want to have some choices you should take the Blackjack Omni. You can easily round out the needs for all battles by switching the configurations. From LRM firesupport to close-in fighters there is everything you need.
And this Omni is produced in 2 factories in the FWL. So it should be available.
