I'm interested to see how a player would describe it without my interference. But if no one gives it a swing in a week or so, I'll type up my perspective.

We found toaster worshipers.  We shot toaster worshipers.  A drop ship approached and hot dropped a lance behind us.  A collective sigh of relief is released when the drop ship doesn't strafe us on the way out!  We collectively turn around and blast the crap out of a Spector.  The Spector runs off after taking 3 Gauss Rilfe shots.

The good guys (the Cappies) largely mow down the rest of the air dropped lance over 3 more turns.  Somewhere in there the Cappie's Raven takes a bit on the chin and shuts down to avoid annihilation.  The toaster worshipers organize behind a hill and shortly thereafter both forced disengage.

The Word of Blake goes back to their club house and the good guys plan to go link up with the resistance.  My suggest at finding the barracks and launching nerve gas into it is shelved for the time being.

These dates are very good dates. Much better than bad dates. (Img: dead monkey from Indiana Jones.)

EDIT: Also, I need the 3/31 game to be Easter themed in some way. Jackrabbits or something.

Remind me at some point before then, I'll e-mail you an old Easter game idea I never got to run. Someone should get some use out of it.  #P

The Blakist group made effective use of their C3i network to mass firepower and keep the Warrior House from advancing on the right flank.  They were on the verge of having to fall back when the mercenaries dropped in the Capellan rear, and 80% of the unit was diverted into crushing the emergent threat.  The remaining Capellan units on the right flank chewed dirt behind cover and waited until the rest of the unit could resume the advance, at which point the Blakists bugged out.
"We have made of New Avalon a towering funeral pyre and wiped the Davion scourge from the universe.  Tikonov, Chesterton and Andurien are ours once more, and the cheers of the Capellan people nearly drown out the gnashing of our foes' teeth as they throw down their weapons in despair.  Now I am made First Lord of the Star League, and all shall bow down to me and pay homa...oooooo! Shiny thing!" - Maximillian Liao, "My Triumph", audio dictation, 3030.  Unpublished.

Subsequent to the evil shenanigans of the last game, the company still hasn't lot  a single 'mech! Great work!

Next one? March 31!
Then we're skipping right past April to May 5th.

The solution is just ignore Paul.

Hi there!

Saw the thread here and was wondering if you all had an open spot.  I live in the Northern VA area, but don't mind driving out to Glen Burnie once a month.  My experience with Battletech is mostly pre-WOB, but I don't have a preference in what era is being played; just interested in playing some games.

Yeah, shouldn't be a problem. I generally assign spots based on who shows, and if they have any preferences I can accommodate.
Right now we're in the middle of a campaign, but I change things up based on feedback.

The way I run events, I bring everything, so just drag along your favorite dice and you should be good.

The current campaign is 3066 but we’ve had games in all eras, including our perennial favorite, the “who cares I just wanna wreck stuff” era.

Floating crits. Ammo explosions are less catastrophic. Can run at a minimum heat level of 9 for TSM even if you generate less heat than that. Nothing huge.

I feel like I'll be absolute intolerable by then though... I was already bad and now it'll be, "Hey I was watching you walk. Very little dorsiflexion, we need to work on your tibialis anterior...."

I'm about to go through posture... and my posture is horrendous. But the whole thing trains you to nag people about the way they lift stuff.

Reminder: next game is Saturday May 5th, from noon till 6.

In the last fight, the Capellans found themselves chased down by the Fist of Mokal light company in a canyon. The Fist 'Mechs were under orders to go for blood, and attacked with near suicidal fervor. Under normal circumstances, that would've been a fruitless and suicidal effort. Because of the fatigue, damage and ammo expenditures of the command company, it only proved suicidal!
The Fist succeeded in dropping four BattleMechs, including the Ti Tsang, Yu Huang, Lao Hu (bit of a surprise there) and Catapult.

On the plus side, the Capellans connected to the local resistance, who are also in contact with the Lu Sann second company! After some much deserved rest and some repairs, the Command company will take to the field again, strengthened by the few 'Mechs of second company that can still fight.
They march because of the damage Second company has caused. Between the efforts of the two Lu Sann 'Mech companies, the Fist of Mokal has been reduced to just a company of functional 'Mechs. And their Word of Blake 'advisors'.

The moment to free the planet has come.

The solution is just ignore Paul.

Credit given, that's a serious amount of heavy material listed there as dropping. Not sure what salvage rights look like for the Fist, but that'd be a pretty good shot in the arm someday if one can even get a couple of those up and running.

'Ti Tsang' means never having to say you're sorry, after all.

Yep. Too bad the Fist did not hold that battlefield after the light company got wrecked.

Next game: the violent wrath of a Warrior House that got to take a nap. Mokal Quartermaster seen to be stocking up on brown pants.

Weeeeeeeell, speaking of "the Word," aren't there some "combat advisers" still lurking around...?

Unfortunately I will not be able to make it this coming weekend.  I got to do some dog/house sitting cause a friend of mine and his family are going to Hawaii and needed a favor.  I'll keep an eye out for the post-game review to see what kind of hole we dug ourselves into.  Look forward to the next session.

I'm slacking off a little, but yes, the next session will be June 2nd, starting at noon!

This time we'll do a grinder game: you get a random mech, it dies, you get a bigger random Mech!
Power up rules will be in play to spice things up.

Those present will get to give their input about what the next campaign ought to be about.

Hope to see everyone there!
